Description:
"Bummer jams about a loved one's alcoholism and attempted suicides."
- First Thought Worst Thought
First Thought Worst Thought's Buried in the Bed is a blur. In a metaphorical sense. The blend of shoegazey folk and hazy, blunted lyricism, filtered through a lens that borders between consciousness and drunkenness, gives the listener both a feeling of rest and restlessness. In that, there comes the beautiful blur.
Now available for stream and download!
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give First Thought Worst Thought some love. Thank You. :)
Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

I tried making music when I was 7-10 and it didn't work, and now looking back it sounds cool enough to release. ENJOY!

I'll be specking bits of feedback in this thread for the next hour or so, but I'm returning all feedback I get, including from genres I wouldn't normally seek out. Also, please rate and review my music on RYM. The gratification I get from that is unreal.

Startlingly better than your last album. I'm glad you let the tracks get a bit longer in length, but this also just sounds really great. This minimal new-age RPG soundtrack aesthetic you have going on is fantastic for my ears. I love your sound effects too.

thanks! glad you enjoyed it.
my next album will probably be much more ambient and even more minimal, this time around I was more focusing on structure than soundscapes. I also want to use samples more because I really liked how they turned out here.
>ambient, noise, tape/vinyl manipulation
Added a couple more tracks I had forgotten the other night, consists of snippets of vinyl, hold music, and general audio fuckery.

Hey I'm a longtime lurker of these threads, I really like a lot of you guys.
I'm thinking of posting my own stuff. Are there any kind of rules or conventions I should follow or at least be aware of? I don't want to embarrass myself.

I liked the acoustic violin song more, even if it was a little grating. It was really unhinged, reminded me of comus.
The other was, I guess, more conventionally "pleasant" and listenable, and still had some interesting ideas with the vocal harmonies, but the first left a far stronger impression. I was far more interested in the first.
uhhh that was bad wording on my part, I mean don't make a bunch of fake comments replying to your music saying it's awesome and shit

Little 11 y/o sister drew the album cover. Made the actual album in one day on a school sanctioned chromebook. I know it's shit, so don't be afraid to call it shit.

This is great stuff. Definitely feels strongly of eighties pop but also has an ambient quality to it. It's like... Stardew Valley-core.

Downloaded it because Luma was catchy. This is some awesome material. "Kaiah's Connectant Ville" sounded like something by Throwing Spoons. Even though it didn't quiet fit in the album I liked it pretty much. "The Dragon..." was pretty awesome, but I didn't like the first 3 Minutes of it. Really great stuff!

Did you design the cover art?
would like to share with you this project.
They do true "metal covers" (not only a change from soft sound to heavy distortion guitars) of various songs, like "what is love" or "narcotic" and more.

Btw, do you have a bandcamp project at all?
yeah but it only features an EP with shitty noise on it that I made as a joke. Unless I have something with real effort on, I'll stop posting it.
