I haven't made one of these fuckers for four months
/IDM/ is for: >Discussion of IDM albums, songs, and artists, from well-known to unknown >Posting of IDM that you find remarkable in some way via Youtube, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp >Discovering new IDM
/IDM/ is not for: >Pointless arguments about the meaning of IDM
If you are confused about IDM, want to get into the genre, or don't know who the "big 4" are please see these artists:
>Aphex Twin >Autechre >Boards of Canada >Squarepusher
I really like the sound of BoC, is there anything else you guys would recommend me that sounds similar to them?
So far I have found Carbon Based Lifeforms and Ulrich Schnauss.
Aphex and Autechre is a bit too rhythmic for me if you catch my drift. I prefer things that are chill, my favourite BoC album is Campfire Headphase.
Adrian Evans
Tycho is probably the most similar I can think of, at times Ochre and Pilotredsun remind me of BoC's stuff.
Adrian Campbell
Yes I have checked out Tycho too, they are pretty similar in terms of feel, but the few tracks I checked out had very "post-rock" harmonies, not the usual minor progressions used by BoC. Not that I don't enjoy them, though.

Yeah man it's a hexagon
Ian Martinez
Flashbulb is selling his entire discog and collection of unreleased material - pay what you want (minumum $1 or $10 for extra) in 320 or flac.
Early stuff is reminiscent of Aphex and Squarepusher. Later stuff branches out with more traditional instrumentation. Also includes material as other aliases - Human Action Network, Acidwolf and FlexE, etc (more Acid and Jazz based) and Benn Jordan (ambient/downtempo)
I'm not a fan of everything of his, the early albums are a little hit and miss but he's recorded so much you're guaranteed to find something you'll like
where to start with Carbon Based Lifeforms and Ulrich Schnauss? I love BoC as well, especially Campfire Headphase.
Chase Martinez
love BoC
Kevin Brown
>Ulrich Schnauss
Goodbye is probably my favourite Schnauss release.
Nolan Sanders
Gotta be honest with you all i did was search up Schnauss on Spotify and listened to his A Long Way To Fall, which I liked a lot and the album he did with Jonas Munk, im not sure what it's called I think it's titled Epic, but it's my absolute favourite IDM/Electronic release ever.
Brayden Wood
>Ulrich Schnauss His first album is his only good one.
Jason Murphy
Huge cvj fan here. Didn't know about this. Thanks user.
Early-mid nineties Autechre. They mentored BoC, eventually leading them to develop their own style.
Leo Jones
I love this album, especially the more upbeat tracks like Vordhosbn and Cock/Ver 10. Anything else like it?
Daniel Wright
this is the closest to BoC i've found
Carter Powell
you forgot to post a picture I assume?
nothing really compares to Drukqs desu

Also, it may be worth checking this album out. There's no Aphex Twin replacement, and this guy isn't trying to copy his style at all, but if you're looking for something to scratch the itch left by Drukqs there's some pretty wild shit going on here. At the very least check Nemerabim and Yapo Gomotic.
