That's not what happened though. The rules state that you have give space to a car if it's beside your car. Hamilton went from right behind, tried to pass him on the right but he was never alongside Rosberg on the track. He only got to wheel to wheel in as he was passing grass and soon after spinning.

You have no obligations whatsoever to give space to a car that tries to pass you off track.
