Does anyone think tricky ricky or amd amx have a chance at a podium in Monaco?

bottas will never win a race

If everything goes as usual (opposite of Spain), Mercedes will take 1-2. The final podium place is up for grabs and it will be between Red Bull and Ferrari. Qualifying is crucial, almost deciding. Sure, Bully or AMX might get a podium, but so might Gimi or Pingpong.

Race should be dry.

Hopefully you are right.

Fair enough, I figured the same, I'm very curious how RBR and Ferrari compare in Monaco.

Rbr on top.

Here you can see the difference between one of the greats and a complete idiot.

Unlike Hamilton, Häkkinen backs off and on the next lap pulls an overtake that is still talked about.

Who /haas/ here?

I expect Ferrari to nick it from Red Bull. Ferrari was already better last year and now they've abandoned the awful pull-rod suspension, Vettel and Räikkönen will like the handling more and be more competitive. Also, should be more cloudier and cooler than Spain so suits Ferrari.

Are you shitposting or do you genuinely feel this way (because of there chassis)?

their*

That sounds good, hope to see the Ferraris battling the RBRs.

IIIIII LOOOOOVVEEEEEE HAKKINEN!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. He chose wrong. He should have tried on the outside but he didn't. At that point he should have backed off.

Will be interesting to see what he will do next time - will he lunge again or will he back off? I think that crash got inside his head.

Chocosenna BTFO

First win for Tag Heuer. They make amazing watches and it seems like their engines are pretty comfy, too.

How big is F1 in Funland?

Reminder that if the Mercs hadn't crashed Max would have finished in 3rd, the same place Kvyat finished in China

about so big

Yeah but verstappen did it without prodding a ferrari off the track.

>Unlike Hamilton, Häkkinen backs off and on the next lap pulls an overtake that is still talked about.
well, you can take the risk, but not three turns into the race lol. ego bigger than the brain.

Not that big anymore. It was huge in the late 90s and early 00s when Häkkinen was winning and there was no pay channel.

Apparently they even showed replays of Max's win during some concert here in the Netherlands

(Warning it's potato quality)
youtube.com/watch?v=LE_zZp6uoic

>They make amazing watches
Pretty meh nowadays.

It's easily one of the biggest sellers for the pay channels but yeah popularity has declined.

Hope it will really be this

Please I want to lick it.

Same as Brazil, then. It has fallen in popularity since Senna died, but is still quite popular.

> get news that Red Bull gets upgraded engine already at Monaco
> verstappenwinslol
> bookmakers have not yet responded to news
> mfw

as much as you want to lick your sister's cooch?

the more powerful your engine is at monaco

the slower you become

Friendly reminder that the incident wouldn't have happened and even Hamilton wouldn't be so crazy to attempt something like that if he wasn't so visibly concerned over the fact that he is getting destroyed in the championship and likely won't win it this year. If he was leading the championship, he would not have taken such a risk.

I personally am enjoying seeing a paniced and nervous Hamilton. He's only like 2 races away from the longest winless streak in his entire career.

The smell satisfied more than enough, no thanks.

Friendly reminder that if Hamilton was white you'd all be on his side and not the racist Jewberg

>powerful engine
>relevant at Monaco

That's probably true. If Hamilton was white, he wouldn't behave like a nigger.

Is this season dominated by meme magic?

It's popular but generally with older people. Moving it onto a mega jew paychannel package (thats getting more and more expensive every year) really hurt its popularity along with the fact that Kimi has been varying levels of shit post-WDC. Wouldn't say its hugely popular with younger people though and the only person I talk to about F1 is my dad lol

I can't believe Kimi is actually second in the championship in a season with 2 Mercs and Vettel as a teammate. He would actually still be ahead of Vettel if Vettel finished Sochi, or even if Vettel finished 3rd in Sochi instead of Kimi. the absolute madman

Postan best Gimi

youtube.com/watch?v=Va4rbre9h9Q

Front wing will be much larger than that.

If he was white he wouldn't be in F1.

I'm not against him or him being black but he has said that his dad "sold" him to McLaren and sponsors as a child as "the first black driver in F1" and played this up a lot, as an opportunity to help a black driver make it all the way to Formula 1 etc. Obviously it helped that he was quick in the car but Hamilton's father very clearly used the blackness to an advantage. Not that I blame him and I'm just saying if he was a white driver who's good with no backing he would probably end up like they generally do.

>Schumi
>Mika
>Old cars
>McLaren not a joke
>Groovy tyres
>More than one opportunity to overtake in a race

I want to go back

Not as important as with other circuits no, but could very well be that little extra push to get you first in qualification.

he is not black. his mother is white. notice hamilton avoids white people.

What number would Grosjean run if/when he does NASCAR this year? 10 is taken and 8 is probably being jewed.

This desu fampai.

>it's a driving soda-can

I miss the old times.

his stepmum is white, his biological mum is mixed race

You missed the joke and five repeating digits.

The channel is getting more and more expensive every year while they've been cutting back the production value. They used to send a crew to every race and commentators were at the track. Now the commentators stay in Finland and they don't have a crew at every race anymore. Or at least that's what I've heard #henno #thankyou #blessed #finnishboy

fuck those groove tyres. they're ugly and killed zanardi's career.

;_;

>noh, harmittaahan se tietenkin

Kimi a CUTE :3

He has given a lot more detailed answers in interviews this years, and it's almost as he's giving a fuck about the driving.

kill yourself if you like ricciardo fucking reddit normi shit tier low life beaner

TOPM8S

Why is this guy not a commentator for Sky instead of David "Fettel Feshtappn" Croft?

Has his accent gotten worse? I don't understand shit.

team autism strikes again

Cooltard cucked hard

>grooved tires

Absolutely fucking disgusting.

The only things I miss from the old era: the sound of V10s, the look of the cars (will be fixed next year), cars being absolute monsters in corners (will be fixed next year), drivers being able to push from start to finish (will be fixed next year) and challenging circuits with gravel traps.

Btw, the only reason they don't have gravel traps as much as before is that the cars will roll more easily on gravel... why does it matter if the car rolls? The car is still slowing down and the drivers is well protected. I just want them to get rid of the parking lots surrounding the tracks. At least put some gravel/grass outside the white lines and then asphalt behind it.

Yea they commentate from Helsinki for most of the races, have some very basic analysis compared to say Sky. I think they have 1 person who flies to the races to do the interviews or they just get someone to hold the microphone when another partner channel (Viasat or something) interviews the driver. It's a bit embarrassing really

just doing my job.

looks amazing

1.- What the fuck is that game? looks nice
2- This is how they used to race in the 50s and 60s

Assetto Corsa @ black cat raceway w/ Lotus ExosI presume, a gentleman racer formula car w/ TC and stuff.

Is there a video for full post race conference?

>This is how they used to race in the 50s and 60s

Lewis Hamilton coming through.

And the whole package costs like, what, 300 euros per season?

>felipe massa will never win another race
>he will never experience the bliss of winning a championship
>he will never return to his pre-2009 accident form
>williams will keep dragging him down with not-as-competitive cars and shitty pit stops and strategies until he retires

>why does it matter if the car rolls?

Because then the car is in an uncontrollable and unpredictable situation.
It might dig in and flip into the fence or over the tecpro or back into the gravel upside down submarining the driver.

With tarmac you crash and just slide into the tecpro. You might hit it faster but the tecpro is designed for that.

It's better for circuit designers and the FIA to design around things that are known and can be simulated in programs which gives them reliable results rather than relying on anecdotal evidence and hope.

Lotus Exos T125 to be exact. IIRC Lotus made it when they made their return to F1 as warm up of sorts.

tecpro is a really shit barrier for motorsports compared to tyres

>he will never experience the bliss of winning a championship

And he only has himself to blame.

Then make huge gravel traps. Also, modern cars don't get submerged like pre 2000 cars used to do

>it's a driving soda-can

the first thing to come to mind

How to fix F1

>remove fuel limitation altogether - teams will quickly figure out what is the ultimate strategy and this will lead to teams pushing hard the whole race and it won't be embarrassing 10 seconds slower than quali shit like we have now that looks GP2 tier
>Tires that aren't absolute shit and can withstand pushing (should be coming next year)

that's it

>good looking cars
>tires wont be shit
>most circuits are at least decent
>more overtaking

2017 is gonna be nice, but still needs
>remove fuel limitation altogether
>at the very least V8 engines, V10 would be optimal

Then F1 would be great again.

lol
*holds fingers this far apart*

FACKING BIZARRE

moar tire grip

haven't found one yet.

Does anyone know why those holes are in all tires? What are they for, or are they just a side effect of the tire production?

>now they've abandoned the awful pull-rod suspension

Don;t even remind me of that fucking joke.

daily reminder that first contact sport that came into Vettel's mind was pingpong

when the hole rolls over the ground, it compresses the air, creating a small explosion that propels the car forwards

btw people who are wondering why they didn't just expand the corner outwards and put bigger barriers there, there is your answer on the right

Berger said him and Senna went to look at the corner at some point after Berger had crashed there and basically concluded that you can't move the barrier back any more

Mika and Schumacher's closing speed was far far lower. Hamilton made gargantuan leaps on Nico and by the time he was there he couldn't back off anymore.

a way to monitor tyre wear.
>hole is 5 mm deep
>after a stint it's only 3 mm deep
>wear was 2 mm

WOW

Looking for this as well, the best I've found is some shitty spanish and russian dubbed version.

Yeah. I mean if I went full fantasy-mode I would drop a few tracks and bring in some others along with all this other stuff but I was referring more to things that could actually happen within the next years

Return to a V8 would be fantastic but I guess the engine manufacturers don't want it because muh road car relevance

7/10

Thanks, I didn't know, wouldn't it work to just measure the circumference of the tire?

Absolutely fucking fixed.

>fix F1
>F1 would be great again
The problem is the only companies with enough money to spend what Formula 1 currently costs are the auto manufacturers, and they care less about entertaining race fans and more about whether there's a marketing tie-in that works for them.

What sold cars, gasoline, cigarettes, and booze 20-30-40 years ago is irrelevant in an era when people are becoming less and less interested in cars at all.

In the not too distant future auto racing will be contested between self-driving electric cars.

well, yes, but that takes too long and needs instruments.

>no overtaking except through pit lane
>cars couldn't follow each other well at all
>results already predetermined and predictable as fuck based on fuel loads

Why?

...

Yeah, but it would probably require a more complicated tool. I have no idea how they measure it nowadays, there's no holes in the Pirellis, right?

Fair enough. I'm guessing the impact on tire performance / wear is negligible then?

>push it to the limit starts playing

you seen the marbles which are flying off the tires?
I guess they can handle a couple of mm-wide holes.

yolo :-DD

2017 won't have more overtaking, the cars are going to be even more aero dependent with the widening of the wings, it will be pre 2009 all over again, just faster

no I don't think so youtube.com/watch?v=7goXvwbvwlg
