Both nostalgic and haunting at the same time, good stuff. Reminds me of boring early 90's TV.

Has a chilled Saturday afternoon feel on a day when you have the whole house to yourself.

20+ mins a piece, in a bandcamp thread, best of luck...seriously.

Reminds me of Labyrinth or Return to Oz, edgy fantasy vibe with a raw realistic aesthetic.

Feels like violent time travel.

Loving your stuff. "Day" is pretty amazing. You could do so many things stylistically with your videos, live shows, presentation in general. The dreaminess really works.

>20+ mins a piece, in a bandcamp thread, best of luck...seriously.
It's a package of already released tracks way back when. It's not a huge deal and there are downloads coming from these threads (among others).
>Reminds me of Labyrinth or Return to Oz, edgy fantasy vibe with a raw realistic aesthetic.
Seeing as I never watched any of these movies it surprises me how much this "edgy" fantasy vibe ever came up in my head. Weird...
>Still listening!
Well, there you go. Thanks for the listen!

I can't really talk about your work because I'm not so keen of the aesthetics that you put into this particular release. Too left-field for me personally. And I don't like hip-hop instrumentals on their own. Although I can congratulate you on the overall sound quality which is pretty good and of what you've done with your tracks - they are quite nice and don't follow one idea so it doesn't get boring at all. So yeah, keep going with it. It seems to fit you well (seeing as it is your sixth album).

What kind of advice do you need man? If you feel burned out then either do something different not related to your normal catalog or take a nice sweet break from music in general. Both of these worked for me so it could potentially work for you too.

>Which kind of advice do you need man?

Very interesting idea. The tracks are a bit heavy on the reverb in my opinion. Makes the whole mix loose character. The mood still is on point. I really enjoyed it.

Anyone around here have experience with college radio or something like that? There's a few college stations around me that I've been looking into. I've heard stuff on them that definitely sounded like a home recording, so they're open to that, but I'm worried that they're not going to be interested in the sound that I have to offer.
Also, as always, you guys are cool. There's some stuff in this thread that I haven't seen before.

simplem.bandcamp.com/album/the-end-of-all-things-to-fall-upon-us
I'm a fan of the atmosphere of the songs on this album. It's hard to talk about this without the stuff you're sampling though. I prefered the tracks where you did a bit more cutting and slicing with the original material, but maybe I'm just missing some of the more subtle stuff. I'm curious to know more about what you've done here

>kleptomancer.bandcamp.com/album/-
This is tight. It sounds almost psychedelic, kinda 90sish but at the same time not purely retro. Is this purely plundered or are those synth lines overdubbed?

landermusic.bandcamp.com/track/glowing-birds
The guitars are mostly direct input right? Do you use a DAC for your then or do you just plug them right into your computer with an adapter? My advice here either way is to record your accoustic guitar with microphones to get a bit more weight behind your strumming and a realer sound (unless you weren't going for that). You could probably also do a hi-pass filter and cut out the sub ~60 range to cut out the muddiness. I'm no expert on recording/mixing myself, but there are a few really quick things you can do that'll bring out the actual songwriting and tonality that's here. Incidently, I'm a fan of the songwriting here.

Description:
"Bummer jams about a loved one's alcoholism and attempted suicides."
- First Thought Worst Thought

First Thought Worst Thought's Buried in the Bed is a blur. In a metaphorical sense. The blend of shoegazey folk and hazy, blunted lyricism, filtered through a lens that borders between consciousness and drunkenness, gives the listener both a feeling of rest and restlessness. In that, there comes the beautiful blur.

Now available for stream and download!

I try to listen at home, I'll put on an album while I'm browsing the internet, or usually I'll put one on, grind in a jrpg, and finish grinding when the album's done.

I feel bad though because a lot of my music listening seems to happen while driving recently. I drive about 45 minutes to school every day, and then also it's about an hour to my girlfriend's. I love that it means I get to listen to full albums and hear them in sequence, but I really would rather be listening more on headphones because you miss so much while you're driving.

Holy shit, this is really good.

Hey guys, what are the best labels for noise and/or improv?

I ran a radio show and "worked" for two other departments in a college radio station. What are you looking to know?

The station I was at had over a 120 shows a week and had I think, in all, about 200 people in it with a population of potential listeners that was about 200k people.

If you want to be on a show, go hunting through the lineup of shows, find which shows at a particular college fit your music and shoot the hosts a message about it, if you can. Otherwise send it to their music review department.

Stations get absolutely, completely swamped with material from all the big and medium labels, so you're going to want to get personal with the host you want to play your stuff instead of just tossing your name into the hat.

Lofi bedroom jams

>releasing your ep as a bunch of separate tracks
Bro please. Drums sound pretty fake, either find a real drummer or REALLY make them sound fake. Like your guitar tones, though they are very obviously derivative of Mac Demarco.

Dope looking tapes, great sounding music. You are too good to still be shilling your shit here, go get some real press bro. You definitely could. Again, very Mac Demarco sounding guitars.

Decent songwriting, very bad mixing. Lo-fi is no excuse! Rather grating drum sounds, too much treble in those hats when there's not treble in anything else. It sticks out over everything.

Turn your guitar up, I can't hear it at all under your annoying vocal affectation.

Digging this. A little to repetitive though. More Mac Demarco ass soundin guitars.

Not normally my thing but this is pretty cool. Occasionally crosses the line from "experimental" into "uninformed dicking around," though not often.

Sounds like the stuff I made when I was 14.

>released April 17, 1989
I should knock all your damn teeth out. Actually pretty cool though, despite the fact that it sounds like you did very little to these songs that you sample. Having cool album art goes a long way I guess.

Here it is! Beleaguered by Sound, all of the parts, as I've intended to provide. There's going to be a bit of writing below so brace yourself! This is going to be in kind of a free-form format. They won't be segregated into the parts or anything. Just text and thoughts as they go...

Beleaguered by Sound is by far the longest musical idea I've perfected and created throughout my life. Started in the second half of November 2015, ended now, August 19th, 2016. It was a long run, I assume, but nowhere short as I've expected it to be.

Beleaguered started, and it still is, as a bunch of unused sounds. When I'm playing anything at all I always record the sounds. Every time. And I've seen that much of the material that I've never even used for any of my Epiglottis tracks are left there, not really controlled, living wild and free on my hard drive. So I've decided that

NEW ALBUM SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE SOMETIME LATE IN AUTUMN

Hoping it'll turn out lit. Literally drowning in ideas, songs for guitar, songs for piano. And field recordings! TOO many field recordings. New instruments on this one too. Jaw harp, kalimba, wooden xylophone, tubular bells, djembe, pan pipes, etcetera. (I don't actually own most of these. My friends and I just go to music stores and muck around.) In the meantime, here's this stale old album. 23 full album downloads. Thanks guys.
