Patrician version of Adele. Us is in my top 25 songs of the '00s.

That album and Begin to Hope are great.
Everything since then has been meh with the occasional great song.

Agreed

Hyped for new album

I like all of her albums but this is how I'd rank them.

>Soviet Kitsch
>Songs
>What we saw from the Cheap Seats
>11:11
>Begin to Hope
>Far

Her first three albums are pretty great, but her last three have been questionable

>Implying What we saw from the Cheap Seats wasn't dogshit

I liked that t b h. Not as good as her first three, but still decent

Lots of good songs but lots of garbage ones too.

I thought she'd be more successful when she decided to "make it" but I was a bit surprised at her lack of success.

The animal. Trap, trap, trap until the cage is full (original 29384)

She's cute

I love her

I think she's good. Far was a step down in certain respects, but a step up in others as evidenced by how much media coverage she got at that time. It really seemed like she was on the up and up at that time. But after Live In London she just fell off the fucking Earth for some reason, as evidenced by Cheap Seats lukewarm reception.

Whoops I meant to comment on

>I thought she'd be more successful when she decided to "make it" but I was a bit surprised at her lack of success.

Yeah it's kind of weird. If I can think of a scapegoat, I think the rise of Taylor Swift massively displaced the songwriting Regina Spektor does.

I don't think that's the reason. I think that her music went too "soft" and didn't catch the pop edge that it needed.

If anything, her stuff from Far is stuff that would be on one of those adult smooth-rock stations, not the "HOT 99.5" or whatever.

Like, her ceiling was Vanessa Carlton.

My thoughts exactly

>I don't think that's the reason. I think that her music went too "soft" and didn't catch the pop edge that it needed.

I think you caught it succinctly. I can definitely say if her new album doesn't have that edge it'll probably be the last one she does besides another live album.

All that said she's had a great run. Some of her songs are some of my favorites like Loveology, Time Is All Around, Braille, etc.

Agreed.

Although I thought Cheap Seats was already basically her retirement album.

In fact, I don't even think she was that committed to Far. That might have been the problem.

It was really hard for her to follow-up Begin to Hope.

>What we saw from the cheap seats

Songs>=Soviet Kitsch>11:11>Begin To Hope>Far>Cheap Seats

Switch 11:11 with Songs and this is perfect.

a good one too

Angel Olsen just sounds like a porn name

pretty good

So we're all on the same page
