>listening to memewie

love him he /theguy/

i have the same eye condition, but i can't help to think of him as yet another pop star

Love his work. Best albums are probably Low and Heroes.

he's alright but he doesn't really do it for me

I love Bowie. I became a big fan of his as a closeted bi kid growing up. I listened to Hunky Dory on repeat for most of my freshman year of high school.

Station to Stations is musical kino

more like david blowie

One of my favorite albums of his that and Scary monsters.

He's OK.

Starman is one of my favorite songs

Never really got super into him personally.
Some good tracks though, but on most of his releases I always felt like they never really flowed well in album form. When Bowie has good tracks, he has really good tracks - but when he has bad tracks he has really bad tracks.

Yeah he went through quite a big pop phase but if you listen to his other albums like Low, Scary Monster's and Rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars he has a very different sound then Fame and Let's Dance.

Agreed like his album the next day.

Listened to Blackstar lately and it was a masterpiece

That's a moving goodbye.

It's really bizarre

I really love him. Heroes and Low are god tier albums and Heroes might be my favorite track of all time

Yeah i heard its a very powerful album and it's basically him singing about his final days before his death and how he felt.

Why is 90's Bowie so shit? really, it's pretty much unlistenable crap, even worse than his 80's albums, save for Scary Monsters, which was great.

I mean it's your opinion and your entitled to it i personally like Scary monsters, Low, Station to Station, Young Americans, Hunky Dory, Blackstar and The rise and fall of Ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars.

Oh and Let's Dance

Scary Monsters is pure fucking genius

Love Ashes to Ashes

just the raw punk aesthetic to stuff like It's No Game, Scream Like a Baby, it's so unexpected coming straight after Lodger

Very valid criticism

i liked him better when he wasn't killing people with explosions in Japan.

I know he made the album after he got clean from cocaine he said himself its probably some of his best song writing

I respect your opinion, but I quite like The Buddha of Suburbia, Outside, and Earthling. What don't you like about 90s Bowie?

Actually i can't remember or not if it was written before he was clean or after.

It's VERY mediocre and boring, he looks very bland in those albums, nothing memorable about them.

i also like This is not america and i'm afraid of americans

I love all those albums, plus Diamond Dogs and his 00's stuff.

Heathen is an absolute masterpiece.

>9gag
Fuck off

A fair point

kek sorry i was just looking for a quick pic of him saw this one and grabbed it didn't see the 9gag on it.

I thought this was beautiful

What a great way to go.

This music video speaks so many words

The crucified bodies representing how people put him on a pedestal after his death basically hes saying fuck you to those people lol

And also how people before him have been put on a pedestal

>At the center of it all
>Your eyes.

I don't know why it gives me chills.

The music is creepy and beautiful. Its a masterfully composed piece by his team. The video is genius in photography, and the occult imagery is his closing signature.

At least we know now what happened to Major Tom.

One day we all gonna ascend.

ASHES TO ASHES

FUN TO FUNKY

WE KNOW MAJOR TOM IS A JUNKIE

Exactly gave me the chills as well it's just so amazing.

Also was published 2 days before he died

Damn

This one moves me too

bruh

...I already did. I've listened to all of his stuff. That's why I rated it, dude.

Dude, cmon, don't slump all his 80s and 90s stuff together like that.

He dead.

Sorry man, but i really don't like it, and i heard all of it.

His "Phil Collins years" were his worst.

>And I cant wait for his next album
I want to believe too.

Even though he's dead you know he has enough unreleased shit to make at least three new albums

>but they'll all be shit becuase they were unreleased for a reason

Well I respect that but even then I'm sure there's at least some SLIGHT differences in the ratings for those era's.

Imagine if this was just a stunt by David Bowie and a few weeks he just appears outta no where like what up i'm not dead i got some sick new records for you guys.

WE ARE THE GOON SQUAD AND WE'RE COMING TO TOWN BEEP BEEP!

he made some great tunes
others no so much
pretty charismatic guy, his early live performances are pretty interesting

His producer said he was already working on a new album before he died, and whatever he had done will probably be released

I really wanted to see his collab with Gorillaz, probably would have been the album of the decade.

DON'T DIE MY BOWIE THREAD, COME ON.

Literally just teared up a little.

The fact that He's dead is hilarious beacuse his music is shitty

>67 posts
>25 unique posters
Okay
Low was his best album

>tfw you slowly start to realize he's never coming back

There's no more than 2-4 songs good songs on any Bowie record, but it's always an amazing 2-4. Anyone that can get through Lodger or Diamond Dogs front to back nonstop is fucking mental

then color me fucking mental

diamond dogs from start to finish is my bread and butter, I love it

is there some the best of compilation or something like that? i need to get on that train

...

Started really listening to Bowie in high school. His music literally changed my life. "Heroes" is just that one album that I always have out, both the CD and the LP (I do need a new LP though, eBay sellers always overgrade the shit they sell), listening to it right now, actually.

>'69 self-titled
>2/10
Listen to it again. More like a 7 or 8.

He's my favorite artist of all time; has been for well over a decade.

I thoroughly enjoy all of his albums (except Tonight and NLMD, though I like a few songs from them), but my favorite of his would probably be Station to Station. All of the tracks are solid and aurally orgasmic.

90's Bowie is great

70's > 10's > 90s > 80's > 00's > 60's

While you sometimes see people lauding Outside or Earthling, I feel like BTWN doesn't get the love it deserves. It's the only Bowie album that I could bring myself to listen to after his death because he's just so damn happy on it.

I listened to it today, it's fantastic.

ON THE DAY OF EXECUTION

ONLY WOMEN KNEELED AND SMILED

AAAH AHH, AAAHHH AHHHHH

AT THE CENTER OF IT ALL...

YOUR EYES...

God dammit

FUCK

I just listened to Blackstar

I never was a fan of Bowie, never got into his music

And that track still hits me hard now that I know it was his goodbye

>What does Sup Forums think of David Bowie?

Is this your first post here?

Stupid sexy Bowie

I'm not gay but fuck the man had mad pull

If anything I want to grow old as handsome as he did

His fucked up pupil made his gaze otherwordly.
Also in all of his characters, I don't think he was acting at all. That was the real him.

I respect the guy. He got a beautiful way to kick the bucket.

yeah if you've spent more than few weeks on Sup Forums you would know that Bowie is one of the most universally liked artists here

Hunky Dory, Station to Station and Heroes are his best

OH NO

NOT ME

AS THEY PULLED YOU OUT OF THE OXYGEN TENT
YOU ASKED FOR THE LATEST PARTAY

I'm only a fan from everything between 1964-1974.

His best album in my opinion is Ziggy Stardust The Motion Picture.

Favorite song of his is "The Man Who Sold the World" but my favorite album is Diamond Dogs.

"Wahh I can't appreciate subtlety" - the post

From the albums I've listened to

>Space Oddity
5/10
>Ziggy Stardust
8/10
>Alladin Sane
6/10
>Station to Station
7/10
>Low
8/10
>Heroes
7/10
>Tonight
3/10
>Outside
9/10
>Hours
4/10
>Heathen
7/10
>Blackstar
10/10

>>Heroes
>7/10

shiggy diggy

It's a good album, but way overhyped. It feels like it was only released for the title track and the rest is filler.

Don't use the "bb-but m-muh innovation" argument, the second half of the album is just flat out boring

Just writing that makes me think I should've moved it down to a 6.5/10

Theres nothinh has changed that is a compilation of some of his hits.

But what about Scary monsters?.

>Anyone that can get through Lodger or Diamond Dogs front to back nonstop is fucking mental

>From the albums I've listened to

You should listen to scary monsters its fantastic.
