/cyc/ Giro Stage 15 Mountain ITT

After finally kicking of the real GC action yesterday, today will surely shake things up again with a Mountain time trial from Kastelruth to the Saiseralm.

Yesterday brought us the BTFOment of Movistar with both Valverde and Amador drpping down the GC aswell as a dent in Astanas and Nibalis armor as he got dropped by Chaves and Kruijswijk.
Former took the stage win, the latter is now in the maglia Rosa, 41 seconds up on Nibbels and 1:32 up on Chaves and more than 3 minutes ahead of Valverde.

first riders of the ramp at 13:30, the top 10 will start at ~16:15

Nibali to win the stage; he's a beast at Mtt.
The GC boys should be close together, so I'm not expecting major differences in GC placings.
Crushweak and Chaves could do well, but I think their recovery isn't good eniugh, also, Chaves has a shitty base.

Mikel Landa looking good for this stage

>poisoning your own riders wih baad barbeque

>pic related

>chinese sweatshop slaverider cheng ji onlly 2nd to last currently

>chinese sweatshop slaverider

fucking kek. i love how they try to pass him off as the "breakaway killer" when all he really is is a fucking slave.

i bet they also do human tests of new hairproduce on him

joj

and the TT has started

chaves was the best climber yesterday so i guess he's favorite today as well. i think kruijswijk may well take 10-15 more seconds on nibali today. it's all about current form & condition in a time-trial like this.

Hello friends

I am excited for today's Individual Time Trial

who knows how well they recovered

should be exciting

also
>2agan because ToC yesterday

How fast will they be? My stream is not online yet, is there another one available atm?

don't worry, only the lowest GC scrubs have started already, the real guys start in ~2 hours

Sporza starts streaming in 25 minutes

If you mean how long they'll take, 27 minutes is the estimated winning time.

what a bike

the climb doesn't look that hard to be honest...

After yesterday it might cause some suffering. But yeah, it's not tough.

When you're doing it against the clock, though, and it will be very easy to lose time.

Should be a lot of fun to watch anyway.

9km @ 8.3% is tough enough

Too short desu.
pic related is what I'd call difficult.

This. If I had their quality bikes I could probably finish 80th or something on that climb

early starters (way down in the gc) are doing 20+ km/h averages. don't expect too much.

That's a beauty. Just wrapped my bars with pink tape today.

Pic??

little white basket on the front?

You haven't earned the pink.

FDJ are in the race apparently

No, but I do have white bars :^)

>using certain colours is not appropriate if you haven't won a specific race
The fact that it triggers some people makes it even better.

>The fact that it triggers some people makes it even better.

absolute madman.

I have black bar tape. Do I actually have to enter a race and make sure I come last before thats allowed? I think I've got it in me to lose a race if I have to

the place where they take the timesplit is ~1km to early, 4.4km with 1.8of them flat is not giving a good indication t b h

based on my luck picking who retires from this Giro imma say zakarin is next

>tfw only 3 riders and still got over 100 points yesterday

could be worse I guess

it just seems so obvious to have one halfway up the climb

>tailgating at a sports event

american sports culture is taking over lads

>american sports culture is taking over lads
Delete this

You're gonna love it, Paddy.

>Implying americans haven't already damaged cycling enough

it's not like they have a choice, they close up streets a day before the stage
if you want to get to the track in mountain stages you have to get there a night in advance
bbqs are a classic

>tfw no ITTs with 200km of length

>You're gonna love it, Paddy.
Americans fucked up cycling by making it too mainstream and commercial. Please, stick to American Cricket.

Holy shit

>RAI merda written on track
lel

Russian power. That's around 6.5 watts/kg.

A Tour of Russia would be THAT thing

I actually like Dombrowski.

the Giro is probably the only thing RAI handles in a decent way
you should listen to basketball commentators, it's unbearable

also
>99° Giro di birre, positivi al luppolo
fucking based kek

These Russian riders are so talented

why on earth would anyone dislike Dombrowski?

He rides for Cannondale

>making it too mainstream and commercial

lol...do you know why bike racing even exists in the first place? to sell bicycles. commercialism is the whole damn point.

His climbing style is awful. Reminds me of Voeckler.

>Joseph Lloyd

i wanna punch your fat face after that post

If you had a job, you could buy a plane ticket to the States and do it, too.

Gazprom gazzing along a little too nicely

i don't want to risk ending up into the WTC
dem digits though

glad to see russian doping program is alive and well

Not really too suspicious. They're well rested and it's only a 30minute effort.

Sure you're not thinking of Boswell?

HOLY SHIT, BRUH

2 nobody RUSSIAN riders back to back take a minute out of the best climbers in the world, one of which was held up by tinkoffs car...

yeah, nothing suspicious about this

the entire Russian track and field team wasn't banned from the Olympics or anything...

It's not a good time. The big GC boys will floor them. Also, they haven't been in many breakaways etc.

>2 nobody RUSSIAN riders
not true for a start

>take a minute out of the best climbers in the world
the best climbers aren't even in this race, and the few really good ones haven't arrived yet

Zakarin will win this stage.

No spoilers please

I wish he would win. Zakarin and Chaves are my favorite riders in this Giro.

Go Valverde

the commercials on BEIN have been the most interesting thing about this Giro

>this flag
>this thread

>American cycling

Eurosport only has Alpecin

This is what I love about time trials

Chaves terrible.

oh shit chaves collapsing

Steven's gonna rek Nibali

Nibali doesn't look good at all
could lose a lot to both Valverde and Krujswjik

I know we've only just reached the first checkpoint but

>nibali

>Nibali
>Chaves

Handful of chokers.

Vuelta>Giro

oh shit Kruiswjik going in dry

>my ass when angry Italian people gonna block Steven later in the stage to help nibali

Wow. Kruiswijk looks like he's having a nice relaxed sunday afternoon ride too.

Crushweak looks so smooth. Great time, also.

>Uran

>2 victories since turning pro in 2010
>good chance of beating nibbles and winning a GT

truly the memest of races

Krujswijik killing it

KRUIJSWIJK

>Uran

Where did it all go wrong?

man what happened to Uran

he used to be so promising

last couple years he's been so terrible

Not historically, but lately yes.

>uran

>Zakajust

>Kruiswijk kruist voorbij op kruissnelheid als een kruisraket

thanks sporza

the vaughters effect

jesus Zakarin burnt out in the second half

If crushweak puts a minute into Nibali, it's suspicious.
