Have you ever met a patrician?
Have you ever met a patrician?
yes
me
no one but myself
the only irl patricians I've met are old dudes who were in the 60s/70s scene
this one time at band camp
I went to an ancient roman mausoleum once. So, yes.
I've met someone that played with Barney Kessel. So Yes.
Yes, and surprisingly all of them were ladies aged 30-70.
No I live in a white trash town in Ontario where everyone only listens to country, Drake or that pop-EDM bullshit
Nigga must be old as fuck
Yes, a few, but they were mostly older guys.
A better question is have you ever met a patrician under the age of 25?
He hates The Beatles with a passion for putting all the tea dance bands out of business
I went to school with Johann Sebastian Bach.
a guy at my school plays who plays saxophone, piano, drums and guitar
also listens almost exclusively to jazz funk
I've met lots of older people with good taste, at that point it tends to be extreme knowledge of 1-2 genres and indifference to the rest
Most patrician young person I met was my friend from high school who was extremely into hard bop, free jazz, and classical music, and also toured with the National Youth Orchestra on upright bass. He was also aspie, fat and anti-feminist kek
I wouldn't call myself 'patrician", just because I feel like it comes off as arrogant, but my friends have similar taste but different enough that we enjoy talking about and reccing each other music.
no you didn't, Mozart
...
One of my really good friends is one of those weird people who likes a lot of genuinely really good, unknown shit, but also likes a bunch of just pure garbage music, mostly because of nostalgia. Pretty weird.
A dude I used to know was really into shit like Shlomo and FlyLo, so that was cool.
Yeah.
I'm older than you guys (29), and most of the patricians I know are older than me (~35), and most of them have strong musical connections to people older than them.
I don't completely understand them. They pretty uniformly admire, in no particular order:
a bunch of jazz dudes I've never heard of
old rap
new rap
messiaen
bruce springsteen
steely dan
old country
metal
the grateful dead
new order
they're very self-deprecating and I don't really get them
No, but I'm listening to one right now
Yeah, only one. My ex's father. My ex and I no longer talk but him and I still do, on occasion.
I know you bitch
>someone made the roman joke before me
I met someone that was signed to the Domino label
Yeah, well a very good friend of mine I met 2 years ago, he's 17 now. Don't know about patrician but he does have a great taste in music. Sometimes talking with him about music and I come up with, let's say Merriweather Post Pavilion, he's just like ''what is that''. But on the other hand he loves a fuck ton of classics. Oh and some dude at our school listens to death grips, we sometimes joke about that
Steely Dan, Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett are my dad's favorite bands. Tbh Buffett is pretty great but has a bad reputation because of his novelty songs
Oh and I also met this young fellow.
was it someone in the wrecking crew per chance?
he only comes by when Im looking in a mirror
No, he played with all sorts of people though, ended up in South Africa writing incidental music and theme tunes for television
everyday on Sup Forums
does he live with you?
Hello
>jazz-funk
>patrician
>not knowing jazz-funk refers to 70s industrial music
yes, a guy from my old school, who i'm fortunately still friends with, is heavily into classic, as well as into modern classic like stockhausen, xenakis etc, and he doesn't even browse Sup Forums or rym and despises the internet as a whole and uses it for porn only. he's also a pretty good pianist himself. on the downside, he's somewhat autistic and a radical marxist who loves pol pot, the soviet union and north korea. cool guy nevertheless.
My uncle
if you haven't really been "into music" for at least 15 years you're nowhere near being a patrician imo
I don't know anyone with serious interest in music at all
FUCK YOU marcus
I have been on here all fucking day, evening and night :/
One of my friends has an RYM. He just likes indie rock though, and folk music
Also I have a friend who I thought was a patrician, but then he posted dank meme webms on a Facebook group chat and now I realise he isn't. Although I think he made them himself, which is pretty cool
then what's my name faggot
marcus, you fucking thieving ass
Everyone is a pleeb except me. I'm the only Patricia.
Matt
One guy from a creative writing class I was taking at an art place I never met again, who recognized SWANS when he asked why I wrote it in capitals in my poetry. Too bad it didn't fit into my schedule so I didn't end up taking another one of that class.
I dont get this whole obsession with people being parmesan. Youre still just gonna die alone
