It's a cool bridge to drive over.

you got the countries mixed up, the bridge is on the swedish side

oresund

...

>However, since 2005, traffic levels have increased rapidly. This may be due to Danes buying homes in Sweden to take advantage of lower housing prices in Malmö and commuting to work in Denmark. In 2012, to cross by car cost DKK 310, SEK 375 or €43
>€43
>two times a day
>for 20 days

how much money do you win?, you fucks

>being a poorfug

fucking lel

I live 20 minutes away from this. This bridge doesn't even have much traffic. I live 1000km away in any direction from a city over 1M people.

This bridge leads to an island where only 130 000 people live.

>€43
>two times a day
>for 20 days
Holy fuck

Most people take the train and the people taking the car have the cost most likely paid by the company they work for.

Nice bridge. I love impressive feats of human engineering.

Basically; post more bridges.

I think thi is our largest bridge.
Not too long, but you know, we're poor. Also we really don´t have where to put a really large bridge.

4 km long

>all the ferry workers that lost their jobs because of this
Are you happy?

Me likey.

Oresund bridge
and the flags are flipped around in this picture. The tunnel is in on the Danish side and heads into Kobenhavn while the Swedish side ends up near Malmö

t. virtual european truck driver

this is longer, 6 km

I can't find a fucking nice picture of it

How about that, it's taller than the Eiffel Tower

...

you can buy a subscription thigie that makes it a lot cheaper to cross the bridge

Yes. Fuck ferry workers tbqphwyf.

literally obliterated the landscape

Oh, France. You're really pushing the right buttons.

Just think of all the bridge builders and maintenance workers employed by that

I think it's very awe-inspiring to see an impressive man-made structure juxtaposed against an equally impressive landscape.

Incidentally this is also when brutalism really comes into its own.

There are nicer landscapes nearby, I don't live far from there and I can garantee you the bridge isn't that badly integrated
Also before that we had to leave the highway, cross the city which was often overcrowded with cars then get back to the highway, now it's straight through the bridge

I've been on this one in the US. It's pretty cool to drive on a huge bridge like that.

Get on our level

Here's a simpler bridge to cool you down

Me too, on my way too Key West, it felt really close to the ocean

how about the only bridge that matters?

I have to sleep soon so I'm dumping a couple more
Here's a bridge in Paris, not an engineering feat or anything but beautiful and very "rich" looking

A medieval one

Longest in Brazil

That's a nice bridge, but it's a bit like big dicks in porn; they're impressive but banal.

And last one, it doesn't seem like it but there's a tiny bridge hidden in that pic, looking a bit Lord of the Rings like
I don't have many pics of modern bridges sorry

i have driven across this beauty many times. it has two tunnels. if you are lucky, you will see an enormous barge on when side of the tunnel when you enter it and then the barge will be on the other side by the time you reach the end

37km

*on one side

That's a long bridge.

Nice.

i was just looking at the map around Washington DC the other day when I noticed it. I wondered if it’s the biggest one in the US/world, because it really stands out, even on the map.

Here’s slovenian’s longest and highest bridge. Although it’s nothing special when compared to others in the world - 1026m in length and 95m in height

I enjoyed this

this looks amazing

Spörrr
Spärr

Mornin'

>how is it called

STOP THIS

I'll post more tomorrow if the thread is still standing, I can't sleep but already turned down the computer with my pics in it

I think this is the longest bridge in my state (Oregon). It goes across the Columbia River into the state of Washington at the town of Astoria. It's 6,545m long, but to be honest, it's fairly ugly.

Another view:

There's a maintenance stairway that goes to the top of the bridge. You're not supposed to climb up there, but the views are nice.

Am I on /n/? Here is the suicide capital of the world

i like the divider they added

...

We don't have any cool bridges but we built a road in the ocean for shits and giggles, so I'll post that instead.

The yanks ripped us off tbf

>bridges

This is near Koper right? Think I have driven over it

Ölandsbron, about 6 km long, goes to our second biggest island in the baltic

in the mountains here there's wooden trestles for the railway that we keep for tourism

it's impossible to go to one in the summer and not encounter a german, they're obsessed with them

:)

Chesapeake bay bridge-tunnel

Maybe not the longest, but, it has leftists buried in its concrete pillars.

>there are people who know the european motorway networks in detail solely from a video game they've been playing at home alone

weird feel

this bridge isn't impressive, or even necessary (there's another bridge 5km away), but it's pretty comfy

they built these bridges just to serve 4 houses?

that's not terrifying at all

jesus fucking christ, can you imagine getting into an accident on that thing?

Bridge between Norway and Sweden

"Svinesundsbron"

surprised another country has tried to beat this

florida keys, archipelago for rich people, southernmost point in america

Bridges crossing the Willamette in Portland, Oregon.

I use the old birdge to smugle large quantities of meat and liqor. It's less toll checks there.

Were do you buy the liquor? lol

Storebæltsbroen between Zealand anf Funen. it's 17 km

Or you just walk over :^)

this bridge is being replaced, at the cost of $100 million USD

Gather around ladies and gentlemen and witness the finest in American suicide engineering!

Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge
length: 164,8 km
other countries aren't even trying

Vertical lift bridge in my city, the part between the pillars lift up to make way for ships

why does it zig-zag?

New bridge in the South Waterfront of Portland.

It's for pedestrians, bikes, and trams only. Absolutely no one uses it, but it will probably get more traffic as the South Waterfront grows.

The lights on the bridge change based on the depth, speed, and temperature of the river.

Systembolaget

Öresundsbron, it connects Copenhagen and Malmö.

I crossed it on train past year, so yes it's real.

...

>mfw "do you win"

LOL

really?

>muh border control

none, since it's schengen area.

Vancouver has three bridges that go to the downtown, that are way taller than they need to be

that's neat
Vancouver has a similar bridge, without the lights, it's between two industrial areas, so only the light rail uses it

We have border controls here. You have to change train at Copenhagen airport and show passport, then they stop the train just outside of Malmö and the police goes in.

Well, it seems that was not the case back then.

I traveled to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia and nobody requested to see my passport, used trains, ferries and local transportation.

>pic related, Finland.

They have put up fences separating the area. So getting back to Sweden takes like 45 min extra

It came in use last winter, so your right.

good to know, imho you guys needed more control on the borders, and you know the reason.

Yes, we need the navy defending the borders

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. Not very iconic, unique, or large, but it's a personal favorite.

Probably to follow the sea bottom.
It's a lot cheaper if it's near the surface.
