i've never been big on the use of midi plainly for aesthetic, and a lot of the synths on here kind of exemplify that. the subtle alien aspects that make musicians like ferraro and spencer clark so great are pushed straight to the forefront. it doesn't really go far enough with the desolation aspect of the music to feel very cold and robotic. there are some genuinely great bursts of synth work on here, and you did capture the alien vibe pretty well, but all of the glitchy cuts and random sampling really make it seem like you're trying too hard to sound like your influences. you're going to be doing some great stuff when you find your own style (which i feel like you're right on the verge of getting), but for now, it's a passable weird electronic album.
Thanks for the thorough and honest analysis. I actually think what you said is pretty spot on. It encourages me to refine my skills and make something that more accurately reflects the vision I have in mind.
I'm listening to your stuff now, it's a lot to dive into, but I'm enjoying it so far. I feel like this would be best listened to in the woods at night. You nail the atmosphere perfectly. My only complaint is that I feel like it might be ...idk, a little too safe? That's just a matter of opinion though. I've only listened to a tiny fraction of this whole piece, but I can tell that you are a master of droning ambient soundscapes. I'll be sure to listen to this more thoroughly once I'm in a more suitable environment to fully immerse myself.

i like the production, the music is not my type (so fucking radio friendly, i hate it) but I see that a lot of people would like it. keep it up
>hey love dark ambient, check out my ambient tryout! scrugley.bandcamp.com
Hey, illusorygames.bandcamp.com
Listening to this now, I'm really into it, loving the subtle strings and field recordings (cars on a wet road, maybe? I've always loved that sound.) I just heard the sound of a braking train, or something that sounds like it. This is good shit.
I really like the stereo dynamics too, it's really pretty.
To be honest I've been a fan of your music since I first saw you post in these threads, I've mostly listened to your black metal stuff but I've got most of the other stuff in a playlist of music that I'm getting through eventually, slowly.
My next album, available on the 20th, is mostly processed field recordings, it's not as pretty as this song is, but it's part of a continual attempt to make noise that is simultaneously dissonant and relaxing, it's a tough balance for me, but I'm very proud of it.
Already following you, so ill check it out when you upload it! It seems easy, but its actually really hard to make enjoyable ambient/noise music! haha

Would anyone be down to release a split with us? We have three finished songs that are all on the shorter side and don't want to necessarily release them by themselves. If you have a few songs that you'd like to have on a split message the Larksburg bandcamp!
