What are some your favorite end of season chokes?

What are some your favorite end of season chokes?

For me they're:
>2012/13 Benfica (webm)
>2013/14 Liverpool
>2015/16 Ajax
>and the classic, 18-1

2015/2016 golden state warriors

Benfica's choke always puts a smile on my face.

13/14 Liverpool is overrated. It's super memeworthy because he slipped after saying this does not slip but it wasn't as big of a choke that people make it out to be. They never had a commanding lead over City and there was almost no room for error.

11/12 United was much worse, they were up by something like 8 points with 6 games remaining

Spurs 5-1

Atletico Madrid 2014

The pro-united media never seem to bring that season up. If they ever do it's mostly to do with the aguerooo rather than the choke
It's sickening

It's not about points but what it represents
>bottleling your best chance of winning the league with your lifelong club after more than 20 years because you slipped after saying "this does not slip"

>It's not about points but what it represents
So memes. They were up against the 3rd best team in the league and couldn't afford to lose a single game. They were the title favourites at that point but it was far from over, there were many worse chokes when it seemed like the title race is done and dusted.

If you want to post a Liverpool choke at least post 1988/89.

>2011/12 Manchester United

They had a 10 point lead with 7 games left, choked it away, and managed to lose 6-1 to Manchester city in the process.

The chicken and beer red sox. Sad to see them hang out to dry one of the best coaches and gms of all time afterwards though. Epstein and Tito deserved better. Same goes for Cherrington

>Peito de Peru

The fourth quarter collapse of the 1999-2000 Trailblazers. Sup Forums would have 404'd.

Atletico Madrid 2016

Explain pls

Also, this
youtu.be/-yAGtWv3CAo
>vs 10 men since minute 15
>2 goal advantage
>dominate the match for 80 minutes
>conced 2 goals in 5 minutes
>cucked away from the first title in 16ish years, in the last play. BY THE FUCKING GOAL KEEPER
That day was so fucking funny

heheh y-yeah so funny......

and it was an own goal by castro, you mong

What happened?

6-1 was much earlier in the season, in the last several games they lost 1-0 to City

>Schalke

this

>Schalke fans already celebrating the title and rushing the field with Bayern still playing
>getting cucked in overtime

youtube.com/watch?v=WYt0CwONlXQ

>schalke

Leverkusen 2002
Bayern CL finals 1999 and 2012
Ghana WC 2010 quarter finals

97/98 Inter
98/99 Lazio
99/00 Juve
01/02 Inter

>97/98 Inter
getting refballed in the title decider is not choking

He did say this does not slip tho

YOUFUCKING DELTE THIS RIGHT NOW YOUFUCKING CUNT

>4 points clear with 3 games to go
>tie at home to estoril
>2 point clear with 2 games to go
>at porto (2nd place)
>go up 1-0
>porto draw
>park the bus
>"we do not let this slip" type of shit
>92nd minute of the game
>kelvin (literally who played like 3 games all season) scores the winner
>jesus kneels
>vitor pereira is like a child celebrating
>whole stadium erupts
>benficucks on suicide watch
it was magical
and i was there!
i'll never forget it, it was really the GOAT of all GOAT games
>they went on to lose the league to porto, the cup final to guimaraes and the europa league final to >chelshit in the 92nd minute also
greatest footballing year of my life

>dat crowd roar

This, chelsea's record against the top 6 teams was incredible, was always going to be hard for livepoo to beat them. mourinho was selling his 'little horse' bullshit that season but the only reason they didn't win the league was because they couldn't score goals against shit teams parking the bus, they where probably the 2nd best team that season comfortably

That was the western conference finals. Not the NBA finals.

wew lad, benfica also lost the europa league final and cup final that year

I don't think it gets any worse than Manchester United in 2012. They had a 10 point lead with about a month to go and choked the title away to their rivals, who kicked their asses 6-1 in the process.

>greatest footballing year of my life
Says a lot about your shit regional club that's currently dying like it's supposed to be

8 point lead, and they faced City in one of their remaining games. It's a choke but it's not that big.

>AZ only needs a win against shit-tier Excelsior
>Ajax needs a 3 goal win against shit-tier Willem II
>PSV needs a blowout against Vitesse

Both AZ and Ajax throwing this away was ridiculous and the choke of the century

It's also worth noting that both Porto and Benfica were undefeated the whole season up until that point.

United choked harder in 1998 to Arsenal.

Your mom last winter sucking me dry

Winning the league at Benfica's stadium was also breddy cool.
Can't get cucked much harder than that.

2013 Alabama Crimson Tide

jesus fuck, and I thought martinoli and el perro were shit, this guys take it to another level

One can't be the cuckoed when one remains the most successful AND loved

The Palace game was the choke that ruined their season.

The Gerrard slip was more embarrassing, but they lost the title at Palace.

Leverkusen and >Schalke comes to mind

>still being bootyblasted about this

kek you fucking negro

Didnt the Ba goal put them up 2-0? As in Chelsea was already winning anyway

Still a funny moment though

Ba's goal was the first. Willian scored right at the end of the game to make it 2-0.

2016 Warriors

2004 ALCS
18-1
2016 Warriors
That Mariners year
Toronto being up like 4-1 in the third period of game 7 and losing
The Vancouver Canucks Existence

The pinnacles of North American choke

Schalke 2001 is forever gonna be the greatest choke of all time. You could see thousands of people going from immense joy to absolute devastation in a blink of an eye.

Then again, Schalke didnt even choke that badly. It was just that Bayern had an unbelievable once in a century moment that turned it all around.

This year.
youtube.com/watch?v=ygAfqOjD1Lg
Had he score that Sporting would be champion.
Still hurts seeing that.

Why didn't they just run it? You've got the most explosive RB in the game, plenty of time to run it yet you throw in the red zone? WHY?

They choked on the 33th matchday.
Leverkusen choking it against fucking Haching was so much worse.

Bullshit, they beat City and had an easy run to the final but choked on Gayle dick

Newcastle United 1995-1996
"Fried Chicken 'n Beer" Red Sox 2011
Pick any of the Mets' collapses in the late 2000s
Toronto Maple Leafs 2014

The Palace game was entirely inconsequential. If they had won it City would still be champions.

>Ghana WC 2010 quarter finals
DELETE THIS

Schalke overall are the biggest chokers to ever grace any sort of sport.

Los Angeles Kings managed to reverse sweep San Jose Sharks in the first round of 2014 playoffs. Kings went to win the cup that year, making it extra special.
