This precedent could lead to other countries paying for oil in other currency as well.
The dollar partially gets it's high value due to it's high demand, as international (oil) transactions are paid in it.
If this stops the value of the dollar would drop. And as America is an import economy they would suddenly be able to import a lot less.
It could lead to massive inflation in the USA.
