What do you guys think of Portuguese Pavement?

What do you guys think of Portuguese Pavement?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_pavement

Slippery, accumulates dirt, breaks easily, high-maintenance and ugly.

you can walk on it

brefer assfault.

You literally live in favelas that have dirt roads slippery with blood or human excrement.

Are you sure you're in any position to criticize other people's roads?

We have those here, I'm speaking from experience.

Colonizing Brazil was a mistake.

Culture and civilization bounces off you.

It looks really good tho. It can stimulate tourism.

It's pretty. :D

>not posting the superior calçada

>no fag butts or chewing gum

shit pavement

>mfw saw a tramp a while ago picking fag butts out from between gaps in the pavement and smoking them

you will find better ones in greece
fuck portugal

why so salty?

>Meow Meow
SEMPRE, SEMPRE TEM UMA PEDRA NO LUGAR ERRADO

>fag butts

t. Alberto Barbaroadsa

>OH MAH GAHD YOU CALL SMOKEYDOOS 'FAGS'?

Cigarette butts m8, don't start acting like a yank over different words, it's unbecoming.

>fag butts

They are changing some to pic related so it isn't as slippery.

It looks pretty to me, OP.

i like the those in greece much more
they just use pebbles which you can find eveywhere

depressing.
wouldn't it be easier to place a layer of epoxy (or something like that)?
then you make both happy

Now that just looks fuckugly. Surely a compromise or work-around could have been found?

Most people agree with you, they are just doing it for the sake of old people that keep slipping whenever it rains.

post one

What he said.

But can you make pic with pebbles?

you have more freedom with the smaller stones

in shitmany they put stickers at transportation stops
i scratch them all
fuck germany

looks really nice, fluid-like

>you will find poorly maintained goat trails in greece
>praise portugal
FTFY

Slippery, accumulates dirt, breaks easily and is very high-maintenance.

But it's gorgeous and homey as fuck, and gives such an often unnoticed good look to our cities. I really miss them when abroad.

I don't mind those concrete tiles some places have, but those asphalt pavements I sometimes see are depressing as fuck.

i think they make them only on islands and hotel areas
those places are always well maintained because of the filthy white tourists

Someone post azulejos

...

...

...

...

Why didn't I know of this when I ordered tiles for bath...

Glorious, thank you
you would have a hard time getting them anyway, afaik they are only made in portugal(and perhaps some knock offs are made in brazil)

It wouldn't be hard to go there and just buy them, m8.

>t. I am greek

And travel back to mountain turkey with hundreds of little pieces in your bag? That would be a nightmare

Nah, just order a cargo.
In what age you live, pierre?

You can probably order them, but don't buy them off the gypsy vendors at fairs.

They steal those from monuments, which is incredibly insulting.

They are very pretty, though, that's true.

>we'll never again have a blue and white flag to match azulejos, Portuguese pavement or the ocean.

Blue and white have always been the colours of Portugal, it fucking sucks that a political revolution managed to change the flag to red and green.

>Futebol Clube do Porto is created
>Choose blue and white to be the colour of the people
>Make the country a Republic and change flag the very next year

I'm not a portista, but that just sucks.

red and green is muuuuuch better

Mroe than half my city has it, pretty, but not very practical.

it kinda makes us proud, the city was always loyal to the nation (but not the king), even though it rarely benefited from the realm's wealth. Even in our day and age, the north is the major contributer to our economy's balance, and yet you see no one flaunting it (except me right now).
It's as they say: "braga prays, porto works, coimbra studies and lisboa enjoys"
so long as it stays this way, we'll keep indulging in pride while mocking lisboetas (amongst ourselves that is) for their own arrogance

Yeah, but the North isn't just Porto either.

In a way I'm grateful for Lisbon to be the country's quarantine and keep away sign all at once. Should be fucking cheaper, though.

best calçada

wrong

It looks good but years ago I slipped in one and fell on my back.

Shitty desu

My town has this kind of pavement

true, merit has to be given to those deserving
minho in special has been growing/developing a lot recently
braga and guimarães (don't get mad at me) are the centre of our textile industry
paços de ferreira, lordelo and reborodsa have solid quality furniture, although the last two never quite recovered from the PREC times
and so on

Coimbra has been doing some cool shit too, with some proper fucking serious startups and not the tusa de mijo bullshit of Lisbon.

We're technically south Portugal, though, just above Morocco.

I don't know much about the centre's economy, besides the fact that they also have a positive comercial balance and glassmaking
I did visit parts of it many times, but one can't really understand things with just visiting places. That being said, I've been in coimbra, and I can assure it's more remarkable than most other cities, both in history and infrastructure

It is shit. I had to buy luggage built like a tank because i travel a lot and they were breaking the wheels.

Only good thing is that you can draw my state with them

It was better when the student tradition meant more than getting drunk, but at least the serenatas are still good.

It's a nice place to be. Moderately modern infrastructures close-by, historical streets close-by, you can drive around it in like 20 minutes, and you have everything you need here.

Not a lot of variety of choices for each thing, but there's nothing missing either.

>mfw I take 15 minutes to work
>mfw I look at it from this angle every single morning

Wouldn't trade it for the world, desu.

It's cancer. These shitstreets should have never been a thing

The CBD of Palma de mallorca was pretty crazy.

Fkn marble slabs on the side walks. I can only imagine how slippery it would be in rain.

why did you guys change the colors?

Jesus christ, this thread is giving me such a boner...
Ugh, I wanna cum all over these tiles!!!
HNG!

the transition from monarchy to republic iirc
pretty much as we did

I think this picture was taken dangerously close from where I live

>no nz

>his pavement isn't covered in snow
characteristic of weak people

>>mfw saw a tramp a while ago picking fag butts out from between gaps in the pavement and smoking them

the most lowlife thing imaginable innit

fpbp

Tacky as fuck
