It's the closing day of the World Cup of Darts with all but one seeded nation through to the quarter-finals in Frankfurt.
The only unseeded nation left in Canada face number 4 seeds Northern Ireland in the opening fixture of the afternoon session. John Part managed to revive the spirit of 2003 by delivering a brutal 161 checkout and then a 76 finish to eliminate Wales. Ken MacNeil has also impressed in the tournament, and what with Brendan Dolan's performances recently being utter shit, there's definitely potential for another seed to be eliminated.
The winner of the opening fixture will play the winner of the second fixture in the semifinals with England (read: Stoke) playing "Austria". While Phil Taylor was unconvincing against Liu Yuanjun and Adrian Lewis was professional against the ABSOLUTE MADMAN of Wenge Xie, Mensur Suljovic and Rowby-John Rodriguez far outclassed them in their 2-0 defeat of Singapore, but you just know this will be the day when Taylel actually plays for once and ruins everything yet again.
In the bottom half of the draw, two nations who have had vastly different tournaments collide as Scotland take on Belgium. The Huybrechts have only dropped a total of three legs all tournament, while Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton have had to fight back from 3-1 down against New Zealand in the first round before Gando had to take out 160 just to beat Cor Dekker in the singles. Will the Belgian team spirit or the Scottish resilience prevail?
Closing the afternoon are the Netherlands and Australia. While Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld haven't really been pushed in this tournament, Kyle Anderson nearly embarrassed his country by forgetting how to finish in his singles match against Per Laursen, meaning Simon Whitlock had to rescue his partner YET AGAIN. You would think not having Paul Nicholson in the side would improve them, but it appears not to be the case.
