Yield is a measure of betting efficiency. (Profit - Loss) / Capital Employed, is how it's measured.
Bettor A has a profit of £100 from £1000 of bets
Bettor B has a profit of £100 from £500 of bets
Bettor B therefore has the higher yield (20%) than bettor A (10%)
A higher yield suggests more success at picking bets at higher odds.
Deciding which is more important - yield or profit - is up to you. You could say ARP makes the better picks but Euan is consistently more profitable

-2(£10) = £20
3(£10x0.9) = £27
£7/£50 = 0.14 = yield of 14%
Units are more a way of keeping track of your bankroll and staking amounts and such

A "unit" is a percentage of your bankroll, is what I meant to say. Your roll will change over time but a unit will still be, say, 1%
