>Singapore outperforms the rest of the world in the OECD’s latest PISA survey, which evaluates the quality, equity and efficiency of school systems. >The top OECD countries were Japan, Estonia, Finland and Canada.
>Finland is the only country in which girls are more likely to be top performers than boys.
>Across the OECD, more than one in five students falls short of baseline proficiency: only in Canada, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong (China), Japan, Macao (China), Singapore and Viet Nam do at least nine out of ten 15-year-old students master the basics that every student should know before leaving school.
Nowhere in the study does it say that. It says the biggest gap is between boys and girls and between Helsinki and the rest of the country. Most immigrants live in Helsinki.
>Itä-Suomi pärjäsi vain vähän Länsi-Suomea paremmin. Poikien heikko menestys laskee Itä-Suomen pärjäämistä tässä vertailussa. Eroja oli myös kaupunkien ja maaseutupaikkakuntien välillä siten, että kaupungeissa pärjättiin paremmin.
Böndes are all the same whether east or west. There is no such thing as a good bönde.
Andrew Powell
Look at the map and select Equity - Immigrant Studies. Finland and Sweden are the red which means they are poor performers.
The non-bönde Finns, East Asians and non-Estonian Euro immigrants in Uusimaa are the reason why Uusimaa shines.
Zachary Nguyen
You're making a lot of assumptions based on no facts.
>only in Canada, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong (China), Japan, Macao (China), Singapore and Viet Nam do at least nine out of ten 15-year-old students master the basics that every student should know before leaving school.
Joseph Peterson
Yes we have very few immigrant students compared to most western countries, what's your point? The fact is the difference between immigrants and natives is largest in Finland, Sweden and Denmark according to OECD data linked in this thread.
John Sanders
Every immigrant I met in my time in school was literally bottom of the barrel failing all their courses tier The standards must not be very high
Gabriel Jones
OP is just wewuzing, they aren't performing well even though the bar is lower than low.
Jack Moore
dumb nigger
Charles Jones
This right here says they outperform the OECD average even though they perform lower than the national average. It's not difficult to grasp.
Mason Kelly
PISA is a good example for the differences within each country. Some of our regions are doing pretty good and some are literally 3rd world tier.
Chase Cook
And the title is that they "outperform all other countries combined". The only thing that's difficult to grasp here is how you came to that conclusion. Their performance is weak.
Landon Collins
Boys are weak too yet we are still outperforming other countries
Owen Howard
But the matter of fact is that the title is a lie. Immigrants in Finland don't outperform all other countries combined or even just immigrants in other countries
Jose Bell
>Finland is the only country in which girls are more likely to be top performers than boys.
This actually suprises me, i thought it was same everywhere that girls do often better than boys at school.
Carter Long
Girls overall do better than boys yes, but this means that girls are even getting the peak spots over boys in Finland.
Gavin Martinez
That's generally true for the average. Top performer means top 1% or 10% or whatever their definition is. Men are generally better represented in the high intelligence category but we seem to break that trend.
Jacob Moore
Why do you think this happens just in Finland?
Landon Walker
Aren't Finnish "immigrants" just Swedes and Russians?
That doesn't count. Try hosting immigrants from entirely different cultures and who tend to enclave themselves.
Colton Gray
Finnish girls >>> Finnish boys
Adrian Wright
If vietnam and estonia are so smart why are they still so poor?
Gabriel Martinez
Poor motivation and autismo probably.
Dylan Anderson
Ankry Pirts, Minekraft, culture of ignorance, everyone thinks they can get rich from making games so why study hard
Wyatt Diaz
On other news, Argentina was excluded from the PISA scores because the last government manipulated some stastistics to make it look better. Ironically we were one of the worst countries in the continent anyways
We have 6 spots for the senior graduating class, reserved for the top students, they're the flag bearers and have to make a small entrance on every school presentation. For the 5 years I was in highschool 5 out of the 6 spots were always women, save for one time it was 2 men on a class with 12 students
Colton Cook

No this unironically means that Portuguese don't perform much better in their own schools than immigrants do. The redder, the better unless your immigrants are Azns.
Adrian Cook
>According to the results of the recent Pisa, Finnish girls' knowledge is about half a year ahead of the boys.
>It means, therefore, that the boys should study for half a year extra in order to get to the girls' level.
>Finnish girls ranked highest between OECD countries. The boys at number ten.
