if you had spend only 30min of you life with listening to standard scales your limited knowledge would even suffice to appreciate what this dude is doing.
there definitely is music, especially metal, where its all about demonstrating technical superiority, an illness mainly metal drummer and phrygian/diminished mode spamming shredders suffer but this is such an obvious exception.
