That's the distance someone with a gun needs to be from a guy with a melee weapon in order to draw and fire before the person reaches them

its not physically impossible to have your wrist crushed by grabbing a swinging chain with a weight at the end of it, it could be any weight and any wrist. And when your opponent grapples your arm, they dont wait for you to pull before they do, trust me.
