Anyone have experience with the NSA, CIA, or DoD lifestyle polygraph for an SF86? I'm curious about the goal of it and would like to know some specifics like if having seen child pornography and bestiality on Sup Forums will disqualify me.

Polygraph tests measure just your stress. So they are easy to deceive for some people.

If you're nervous you're screwed. They could ask you a question like "Are you taking a polygraph test right now?" And if you're nervous when you answer it'll go off like you're lying.

Seriously there long and bkring they ask questions like that but there not instant fails if you answer yes
>Done it a few times at this point

that's going to be rough, hopefully they let me take my anxiety medication.

But on the bright side, if you're not nervous, you'll be just fine.

XF-86? As in the jet?

Kek

Constrict your asshole. (look it up)

loose lips sink ships

The entirety of the polygraph test is nothing more than the investigator trying to get under your skin. The test results aren't based off of your vital signs and readings the test results are based on your interactions with the polygrapher. Here's how you pass the polygraph.

1) remember everything you put on your application word for word.
2) stick with that story no matter what.

If you start changing your story as you go through the questions the polygrapher is going to mark you as a liar. Its not your vitals they're testing it's your conversations with them. So if they say "well it looks like here that you're lying on that question is there anything you need to tell me" you say "nope. That's weird that it's saying that cause I'm telling you the truth. "

Tltr polygraphs are bullshit tests. They can't tell if you're lying. Your behavior with the polygrapher is how they determine you're lying.

Also just don't mention Sup Forums and recognize that when they say "have you ever seen 'this' " what they mean is have you ever gone and looked for it and have it all over your computer. Just seeing it isn't an issue. But it's still not worth mentioning.

You very clearly have 0 idea what your talking about but its impressive you wasted your time typing out that list of bullshit

Thank you for all of your responses so far, when I'm up there solving math puzzles and helping my country I'll remember you all.

keep your ass cheeks clenched the entire time and flex thighs. dont let them see

How do? How is he wrong?

Your obviously trying to get in a cryptology field get your preconceived notions out of your head its not like the movies its basically data processing

Doesn't work. They have a pad that you sit on with sensors that measure this kind of thing.

man just dont lie about anything, as long as your honest and up front about everything you'll get your clearance. If you lie.... well they will get you. I've been turned down for jobs because I didn't hold back, but honestly the better jobs just bear your fucking soul, tell them everything, its worth it

So nice of you to say he's wrong but not point out how.

Be honest and you'll be fine. They got people working for them who've probably done a lot more fucked up stuff than you have.

They function off of biometrics the questions they read are the same everytime none of it is based off anything you filled for in the SF86 all of that is handled in a separate investigation
The interviewer is there simply to present the test there opinions mean dick all of the tapes are sent to a main site for processing

How will you answer when they ask have you ever researched how to deceive polygraphs?

This is basically "thought crimes"
Queensryche had a song about this.
In the near future every thought you have will get you in trouble. Government just wants mindless robots.

what

really great grammar

i totally understood all of that

What the fuck am I reading here?

i had two polygraphs for the police dept

first one was okay, guy said i had a "response" to the question "have you given complete truthful information on the application blah blah" i said yes but he claimed that my body gave a "response"

then he tried to coercive me into a confession that i lied on the application or something

i took a second one and it was good

this time the guy was like ok pls wait i need to go over the results

then called me back in

and asked about my "response" to the application question again

kept pressing me on that, i didnt budge

then i left

then i stopped responding to my background investigator because i got tired of dealing with their bullshit and the career is shit anyway

This is going to the extremes. But their is a drug you can take that will slow down your heart rate and slightly numb you. If you took a measured amount, you could easily pass any polygrapgh. And its not a common street drug.

When they ask you a question that you don't want to answer truthfully just mentally substitute a question that when answered truthfully will give the answer you want.

Just keep going over the questions that you're afraid of in your mind, let the stress wash over you. Pretend it is 100% real. Condition yourself to answer calmly. You must do this over and over until you're basically bored by the question and thought of it no longer stresses you. It's brainwashing yourself basically, but it does work.

I didn't do it directly, but my husband went through it twice.
The questions are fucked. They ask you the same thing multiple times in different ways.. and also the control questions are meant to throw you off.

He ended up failing after having to travel to fucking Indiana twice on some BS question about "foreign contacts."

good luck.

also, they asked the question about CP and bestiality and he mentioned Sup Forums directly. Just answer honestly. Apparently they don't care as much about the answers as they do the readings from the poly

Lol already stressing. As a /gov/ fag, they will try and push you to make you change your mind. Stick to your guns. Don't lie. You'll be fine

And the results are interpreted by the polygrapher who gives their professional opinion on the matter to the review board that over looks it.

If you're changing your story as you go on it makes you look deceitful. They give you a chance to come clean be for the test as you go over all of the questions. But after that thats it. They'll intentionally say things like "well are you sure you're telling me everything" because they want you to get nervous and start spilling the beans about other stuff. Then they catch you in a lie. Then you're a liar. It doesn't matter you told them the truth because you only told the truth when confronted. That's as good as lying.

Your sf86 is all background shit like where you lived. Who you've know etc etc. He's right it's not your criminal and lifestyle background info. So he's right there. My point still stands though. If you didn't purge something or tell them something in the beginning of the test when you went over the questions one by one. Don't tell them after the fact. Honesty is important to them yes but only to a degree. Honesty brought about by being confronted is not good. Just stick to a story
