Do you make decent amounts of money as a history teacher?

Have you fucked any teen pussy while they begged for better grades

Have you fucked any teen pussy while they begged for better grades?

Depends where you work mostly. The teachers in the richer parts of town obviously get higher wages.

Once you get tenured it gets a little easier because you can get away with more, but if you are working at certain charter schools prepare to be fucked hard. I did a few "internship" like things there.

Wouldn't recommend it, but they seemed *slightly* better structured than the public schools only because they could fire the shitty teachers or teachers that make too much money.

Anyway Direct answer: Kinda, but not really. I need to work two jobs in the summer to pay rent since they don't pay me for the summer since school is technically "out" even though I spend 3 - 6 hours a day at the damn place preparing stuff for fall.

No, but some girls have tried. They would come to me during my office hours in short skirts and revealing shirts.

I'm not going to fuck myself out of a job because some girl couldn't study. There were a few times their parents put them up to it too.

Do you feel pride when one of your student gets better grades?

Hell yes. This is one of the things keeping me in the job. When a student succeeds. I've had students that believed they couldn't do it, but when they see that "A" they got on a test. It feels good man.

Not even that, but when a student finds a new passion in history through my class its a damn good feeling. Some have considered starting a history club. I told them to go for it and I'll even sponsor them.

>This is one of the things keeping me in the job
What are the other?

Is there anyone or anything that motivates you to continue teaching? Or is this just a job for you?

>parents putting them up to it
That sounds so hot for some reason, I think I need to sleep.
Jesus, thats scary, almost losing your job that way.

Please give an example

Meant to reply to you with this

The ability to talk about history and lecture with students. Its fun when you get into a discussion. However this has caused problems in the past.

Thankfully I'm tenured at the school, but holy hell. Do the administers hate it. Mostly because I challenge things that are pretty well established.

also the school didn't like it when I talked about Gouverneur Morris.

Have you listened to Dan Carlin's history podcast? If so, thoughts?

where did your life go so wrong?

THEY CALL ME ROCKY BECAUSE I WAS BORN WITH A HARD ON AND WAS THE MOST RATCHET 1 SECOND YEAR OLD IN THE HISTORY OF HISTORY

>FUCKIN THAT TIGHT PUSSY SINCE BEING PUT IN DA CRADLE

Just the idea of helping kids get through things mostly. I do want to see them succeed and pass through things completely and move on to a better life. It can just be difficult at times because of the parents. Sometimes it does feel like a job to me and a horrible job at that.

There are a lot of roadblocks and interested parties that want education to go a certain way. Alot of teachers are against it. One of them is standardized tests.

Also yes, parents put their kids up to crazy shit. one girl's parents tried to get me fired by claiming I raped her. Problem was I was at a teacher's conference during the time so the school board was like "Wait a second.." from what I heard she spilled the beans about how it was her parents idea. There was another scandal in the news during the time so thankfully my story was largely ignored.

There was also the time when I had a parent legit go tumblr on me and claim I was culturally appropriating their child or some shit. She came over and sat in the class and disagreed with everything I was saying claiming I was "white-washing" history. We had to get her removed.

Not yet, but I'll add it to the list.

I'd like to think elementary school and its all downhill from there. I became a teacher to try and make a difference to be honest.

your name woulldnt happen to be mr.adams would it

Nope!

You are safe kid.
Now do your homework :)

Do you have any favorite parts of history?

Is there any for a foreign person to become teacher in the U.S?
If yes, would you recommend?

what have you taught this last week alone

If there were no legal and/or authority obstacles, would you spank any of your students?

Do you feel like a failure for teaching at a high school level? It's better than being a retard tamer, I'll give you that.

I'm the give an example user

Thanks for responding, keep doing your best as an instructor.

I have to finish my last two weeks of high school class (still 18).
Interesting perspective on teaching.

Who knows, maybe when I run for House of Representatives and get rid of standardized testing teachers might focus on more than what the school says they should do.
Take care my man

Antiquity and the classics for sure. I mostly majored in the Greco-Roman classics. So I'm mostly focused in that.

Depends what you want to do and what you want to teach as well as regional / county laws.
Make sure you try and look up as much information as possible. What degrees are needed, what paper work is needed, what you need to pass and what you need to do.

Becoming a teacher in a public school (especially because you are a foreigner) is really unlikely. Private schools? You'll have a better chance (slightly) Universities and Colleges? That is your best bet, but you'll need to study like hell. You can also get a teaching degree and pass the teacher exam (Its called PRAXIS where I am) and do all the work then. If you do some work as a substitute teacher It'll help.

Mother fucking standardized test preparations. The papers I'm grading now are "mock tests" and its pissing me off.

There are a few students I'd spank if there were no obstacles . Mostly for behavioral issues, one because she is 18 and hot, and one because her dad needs to slap the stupid out of her.

Not at all. I was actually aiming for this position. Special Ed. teachers make more money though, but have a tough job I would never be able to do.

Thanks man. Teachers just want to teach, but everyone keeps getting in their way. I just want to teach the kids the past to prepare them for the future.

How many people get "F"s?

Mr. Ahmad? Is that you?

More than I would like, and the school just boosts them up to a "C" so we don't hear complaints from parents.

Also depending if the student is hispanic/black/arabic or not that F might become a B.

Nope! :P

Are you married?

Nope! Don't really have any plans too in the future yet, but there is a girl I'm kinda of crushing on now. So I'm trying to see where that goes. I'm a teacher and she is kinda-sorta an archaeologist so we go together kinda well I think~

Do you currently enjoy teaching history to highschool students?

You have got to be fucking kidding me

Best of luck with her mate

I would enjoy it a lot more if people stop telling me what to fucking teach. We mostly focus in America (fine) but leave out This person, this person, this event, this event, etc. Don't talk about this because we'll get a specialist, and don't bring up this because you might make a student sad.

I love history and love teaching it but fuck man. The kids like it too when you teach it right and make it interesting. They loved learning about Gouverneur Morris only because he was completely different than what everyone expected him to be.

Afraid not. Schools are really afraid of being "Unfriendly" or "racist". Its becoming a huge issue. We've actually had staff being told to try and mix people together during lunch period when everyone goes and sits with their friends and stuff. They don't like too many whites sitting together and too many blacks sitting together because it makes it look like we are segregating lunches.

aw thanks man. That means a lot.

why are kids such scumbags these days?

what's the dumbest kid you've ever had the miss-pleasure of teaching ?

Historically, which pizza chain makes the best pizza?

So all this shit I see on Sup Forums about affirmative action, racism, feminism, triggering, etc? That's not a meme? Is that really what's going on in the U.S educational system?

What was so mad about Morris?

I always hated history and all the dates and shit. Do you teach in a more interesting way with less focus on stupid details?

Do the majority of your students like or hate you ?

How often do you have students who seem to already know the class and then some, sleep through shit but still get A's and B's, etc.?

Parents spoiling them, the internet giving into their little pissy attention sprees, and mostly because we coddle them too much instead of disciplining them.

This one kid who I'm positive was born and is currently living out of pure luck. He was good with history, good with math, but I don't know how the fuck he survives everyday. Everyday he falls down the stairs, When he eats his lunch (which is specially prepared) he throws it right back up, he (somehow) swallowed three pieces of chalk. His mother forgot he was at school and then went to the wrong school. He somehow falls asleep while standing, he failed middle school grades multiple times because his mother kept forgetting which school he belonged too and holy shit during gym he is one of the most act kids there, but he somehow always ends up getting himself stuck in the bleachers.

I have no idea how he is alive, but damn. He isn't dumb (per say) but shit I don't know what to call this.

Dumb on an academic level would be this one girl who was convinced that all of history was made up to keep her from passing and getting into ivy league. She refused to learn anything or hear anyone.

Its becoming much more prominent now. Much much much more prominent.

I guess the way I taught it since I wasn't allowed to talk about Thomas Jefferson because he owned slaves or some shit. I got around it by teaching about Morris. His life, behavior, what he did, etc. The kids were kind of shocked at first to hear about him but gradually came to like him. Everyone laughed when I told them story of how he tells everyone he broke his leg leaping from the window of a woman he was having an affair with whose husband almost caught them.

I try honestly. I like to focus less on dates and more on the events that happened around dates or specific cultures. For example teaching the classics class I focused an entire marking period on Sparta and Spartans.

What's your biggest mistake you've done as a teacher?

I think its 50/50 at this point. Most of the seniors like it me and the freshmen tend to enjoy me, but it seems that sophomores and juniors don't like me as much. Probably because that is when the majority of testing is happening and I have to just review for that. Seriously from March to June its all standardized test bullshit.

Sometimes. We get kids who just sleep through class don't show up but ace every fucking exam. At first I thought they were cheating, but NOPE! They just enjoy history or learn stuff on their spare time. Some fo them get notes from their friends and other things. I avoid tests that made online by "professionals" and make up my own exams.

Difficult to say. I guess during my early years I was a little more rebellious which caused problems among the teachers, faculty, students, parents, etc. So I've been on their shit list ever since. I'm surprised I haven't been fired for half the shit I did honestly.

So glad i graduated high school in 2012, it was really starting to get bad. And somehow they do it in such a way to make our feeble high schooler brains support it.

Just look at Obama's most recent executive order

I'm not touching that shit son. Wars have been started over that question.

How old are you?

I'm glad to hear that, nothing kills interest more that "date: event, date: event" imo. Also I have a tip for you, try to put things in context. Like, let's say you're teaching about something that happened somewhere, say also what was happening at the other end of the world at that time.

i would happily lurk for more stories of dumb or weird kids ( to gratify my own misgiving of-course)

had any trench coat enthusiasts ? (Brit-Bong here)

Are you as cool a teacher as Onizuka?

Also, favorite/most interesting history fact people don't know about?

I'm interested in what a history teacher has to say about the jews. Also what do you think about Trump?

What if OP is a woman? °∆°

Read the thread faggot

I appreciate the GTO picture.

Yeah I was that kid, the one who slept through class or read an unrelated book the entire time then picked up a test and got a C at the very worst.
Somega of my teachers didn't bother me much and in fact seemed a bit relieved to have a student who wasn't fucking retarded, others seemed almost agitated that I wasn't taking their class seriously... What's your perception of history buff students, or that of your coworkers?

Would you agree that public schools are becoming or have become nothing more that internment facilities for American youths? That you are or will eventually become nothing more than a prison guard, requiring few capabilities beyond the ability to keep the student population in one place and preventing them from brutalizing each other too badly for the duration of their parents work hours?

No it's not a meme. The world we live in now is like a hilarious copypasta you might have read 5 years ago. College safe spaces are common, Obama basically said he would cut funding unless transgender people could pick their bathrooms, and black lives matter exists.
youtube.com/watch?v=V6ZVEVufWFI
If you watch the video you'll find that the "claps" sounds strange. It's because they are not claps. They're all clicking their fingers because they believe clapping is triggering to some.

I graduated in 2007. I'm shocked with how bad its getting. People keep saying its going to get worse before it gets better but.. i'm not sure.

I'm 27

I've been trying to do that too. While the Spartans were doing THIS. This was happening over HERE! and then they all linked up together.

I did get into some shit for showing clips of 300 though. Heh.

We had one kid who wears a trenchcoat everyday. No matter what the weather is he just wears it and deals with the heat. He is.. sort of smart? He gets decent grades but not great. He doesn't really talk about his hobbies or anything and he causes a lot of issues with other students. I think he might have the autism, but I'm not sure.

The most interesting historical fact (or facts) all have to do with Spartan Marriages which intrigue the living hell out of me.

One person I've really enjoyed trying to learn about is Hypatia of Alexanderia A lot of people believe her death was the end of the intellectual period of the roman empire. Very little information about her but take a look at the film "Agora" if you are interested.

Jews got the rough end of the stick a lot of times in history. Like.. A lot. Also Trump will make america great again (not really but at this point who is the lesser of two evils?)

History Buff Students are great. Make the class more fun because we get into debates and mock arguments in class. When things get heated the rest of the class pays attention. I give extra credit if you challenge what I know.

Co-workers are hit and miss. Some piss me off and I love some others.

What is the worst state for being a teacher in?

Would you say Sup Forums has influenced your teaching of history?

50/50 I agree that some and many schools are basically becoming internment facilities for American youths. Most parents I've worked with just see schools as nothing more than a daycare for their kids. We have guarded entrances at our school ever since the kids from the "darker" side of town have come over. Gentrification is happening in this town at the moment.

Teachers need a hell lot of more abilities than that. We have to make sure the students are not only kept in one place, but well taken care of, need to recognize abuse, try and solve their issues, try and get their parents involved, fight the government when they want to expel a kid because of a picture he posted online.

We aren't a prison yet, but we are trying to help kids instead of just locking them away.

I'm going to guess Mississippi because its Mississippi.

I would say so, but my greatest influence would have to be other teachers who made learning fun.

>Trump
Nice pick. You browse Sup Forums? I feel like it'll be an experiencing for you if you have never been there before. I'm sure that your version of history doesn't quite correlate with theirs.

Lol, well history ain't pretty and 300 is putting it mildly. Good job user, keep doing your job well.

I haven't gone to Sup Forums in awhile. Mostly been busy this year with work and work and more work. I come on Sup Forums for quick laughs to help me get through the day.

I try :) I've been pushing for a history of animation class but the school doesn't want to go for it. Mostly just an excuse to show old cartoons all day heh.

have you ever leaked any of you Sup Forums mannerisms on your students ?

How accurate would you say Agora is? I might watch it.

Also, tell me something about Spartan Marriages. I'm intrigued now.

do you stare at yoga pants ass?

>We aren't a prison yet, but we are trying to help kids instead of just locking them away.

You keep it up, history man. Fight the good fight.

As a history teacher do you ever have to teach ideas you don't believe in as if you do (say you're a libertarian socialist but the history book shits all over socialism because the only example it uses is Leninism)

>I give extra credit if you challenge what I know.

Whoa whoa whoa, we don't like your kind around here.

How many of your coworkers (out of how many total, or a percentage) would you consider incompetent at their job?
At my high school about half of the history teachers were also a coach or heavily involved in the sports teams in some way, and it really showed when they taught plain wrong or autistically dumbed down information.

Did you ever have to modify what you were teaching for religious reasons?

Not that I know of. I'll have to keep an eye out honestly. To see if the way I behave in class seems to have run off on them.

Agora is eh. Its mostly used as an example of extremism of religion can bring about destruction of intelligence as in all extremism is bad. For example the Library of Alexandra was destroyed and burned by Roman soldiers on order. In the film its burned by the Christian zealots in a way that pisses everyone off.

Spartan Marriages are interesting. because there are a few ways to have it done.

1. You must sneak into her house at night and rape her. She must not over-power you. You must claim her as your own and take control. You cannot let her beat you either because you don't want to appear. Strong men = strong children.

2. She will give a signal and you must sneak into her house at night. Sleep with her without alerting anyone and leave. You victory is evidence by the child in her. Don't get caught or you'll lose your junk.

I'm quickly summarizing but its more complicated than that as well. Also Spartan woman were the only women permitted to have their own athletics tournaments and marathons. Something they practiced while the men were at war.

We banned yoga pants from our school.

I'll keep fighting or die trying.

all the goddamn time.

I'd say about a few. Mostly because we largely cut back on the history program and many history teachers aren't as in-demand now. It upsets me that most schools and universities are really pushing for STEM at the cost of other subjects.

Hell we don't even have a music or art program anymore.

God that sucks. I graduated in 2006. I was a fuck up in highschool now I am a student dentist.

I try to avoid religious topics in my class unless they come in the actual subject. For example I did talk about how Christopher Columbus was rejected until he talked to the Queen of Spain's Confessor.

Some people do want a more historically religious class though which I just can't do because they want me to include Christianity, Judaism, or Islamic material which would be a complete disaster.

well keep up the good work history man, maybe this generation wont fuck up that bad....

Any examples or stories? How frustrating is it on one to ten?

Well not on my end but we had this one substitute who was a socialist but was told to avoid the topic. I usually manage to stay out of it because I'm most neutral in my regards. I do try to not be so patriotic about my lectures either and instead focus on well we did this and it fucked up THIS. While using this mentality. I did bring up how an open democracy we have in America was an unintentional side effect of the constitution.

Let me tell you. I almost got fired for that because they thought I was promoting "Other ideals"

How much of our history books is bullshit?

pc rep nigga

Are you a law school reject?

STEM is important, but every subject is important. as a professor of minor religions and cults , i really feel your pain, im glad i got to read this today.

So white men invented rape culture?

The thing is that STEM funds the other fields. At Berkeley when a PI gets a grant part of that money goes to the school and is distributed to the other fields.

Not the history guy but a lot of stuff about Hitler, the numbers of jews gassed in Auschwitz and a multitude of other things. As one fucko once said, history is written by the victors. It's more than likely there's some parts of history are so well covered up that it's impossible to conclude anything other than what was written actually happened.
There's a lot of holes in history too. Some things that we will simply never know.

cult teacher here.
white people have only been around for 9000 years tops, its a more resent race. rape based culture has been around forever.

Oh shit did we catch a holocaust denier?

This is true I was at the park the other day and two ducks were raping a female duck. Too bad they finished before I could :(

cheeky

For a second I forgot I was on/b/, thanks for reminding.

Depends who wrote it. History is written by the victors so you'll get a lot of bullshit and things like that.

Stuff that grinds my gears are things like telling us the world was flat and we believed it until recently, how so-and-so didn't do this which caused this, or my favorite how they legitimately discount certain people in history because they didn't like them. Also imagine the shock on people's faces when they found the Spartans, Greeks, and Romans... HAD SLAVES

but slavery was an American invention!

Naw. I never wanted to go to law school. I could never be like my hero Lionel Hutz.

I like STEM and I do think its important to learn, but we need to look at everything else around us as well to realize what we are. Just focusing on one major thing is bad because it weakens us as a whole.

White people invented everything bad from slavery, to rape, to evil evil democracy. Fun Fact: Greeks weren't white :U dun dun dun.

One of their benefits, but even though it gets distributed to other fields. I've noticed a lot of it goes to other things rather than the things that need them.

Agreed it'll be difficult to every truly learn history. without a time machine! woot woot. or some other method of catching light / images that years away..

Those are on the rise actually. I'm one of three history teachers (out of 5) who is not a denier.

>holocaust denier
Buddy it took literally 50 years for the "6 million" number to be corrected to 1 million, and even then people could even make a case for it being lower, I personally haven't delved that much into it (because i'm not that bored yet).
If you think there is 0 horseplay involved with the telling of the holocaust and Auschwitz throughout history than you sir, are misinformed.

Do you browse lit ?

What is your teaching style?

I had a fucking fantastic teacher that always helped us and was really fun to listen talk about shit i didn't give a rats ass about.

Are you strict stern? or in between?

I personally could never be a teacher, I'd hit the kids.

What do you think about standardized testing

Had to bust out my Sup Forums folder for that image.

Today, I thank Jehovallah that I'm not as autistic as user here.

I'm inbetween. I can be strict if I want to be, but I can be really relaxed as well. I know kids have drama and shit in their lives. So I cut them slack.

I give them one "fuck up" grade. Basically if they are having a bad day at the end of the week. They can scrap the grade. Or save it til the end of the marking period and scrap the lowest graded test. Their choice.

I give tests every week because it gives them more of a chance to save themselves incase they fuck up. A few bad tests with 7 good ones still reflects.

We need some way to measure students capabilities and how much they have learned.

Schools are using it today for the opposite. The seniors in our school need to pass SATs to graduate high school. Some can't even afford the fucking test.

Fun Fact: You don't have to take ANY standardized test. You can reject it, but I'm not suppose to tell ANYONE that.

Good to know. Good luck with life.

So what happens when you teach students about slavery in the New World and all that? Are you allowed to mention the Irish or does it counter the narrative?

Its really preferred I don't mention slavery at all. Because having a white guy teach slavery isn't PC or some shit.

At one point they had someone come and basically talk about how oppressed blacks were and how bad they had it and stuff. He tried to end it by making all the non-blacks in class apologize for slavery but the bell rang and everyone got the hell out.
