RIP gramps

I also have a 97 yo grandad.

He still drives, works in his garden every day (veggies, fruit trees, ducks and chickens). He has 2 glasses of wine every lunchtime.

He was a dad to me from 7-16.
Taught me many life skills I would have never learned anywhere else.

Most based human I know, and a sense of humor like no other.

Lately during our talks, he's been telling me he's tired and ready to go.

I have no idea how I'll deal with it, apart from very badly.

Tell us some stories, user. Maybe that will help?

You have trips. He smiles down on you this day.

Pretty sure there is some high building around

Same for me. But he raised me with my grandmother until 18. Then he told me to use everything he taught me. My grandma passed away a year later. He moved in with me. But I have so many stories from my childhood.

Give story of best kek
Give story of best feelz
Give story of when you first realised he was your role model

Great song, nice pic, sorry for your loss OP

Best kek: Almost everyday we used to watch popeye on vhs everyday before my bedtime when I was little.
Best feelz: When he turned 70.
Role model: When he told me that I shouldn't worry about anything and instead of trying to protect myself from everything I should do what I have to.

Be happy he was part of your life.
Use that to ensure some user will start a thread like this about you several decades down the road.

He told me that my parents were bad people when I was 7. I never really got to see them. Now I inherited their property. I'll be moving soon.

Was he right, tho?

From what I can gather my grandparents settled in my parents' house. And my parents both are in some prison.

So he had a huge impact on your life.
You seem empathic.
Keep on doing his good work

Carpeting and repairing tools and items for others for a very very modest price.

accept that you're going to feel shitty for a while

then, when you feel shitty, let yourself feel shitty

eventually you will feel less shitty

(it will take a while)

lost my dad in 2013, still feel shitty but not as shitty

Tibeten book of the dead

Throw one in. She's prolly still half warm.

Cope? Old dude lived 19 years past life expectancy. If he had a kid 19 years ago it could have a kid by now. 97? That's almost 5times longer than my dad lived and he had a kid job home degree, what most would consider a full life. Your grandpa went back for 5ths at the life buffet

I think it was his fucking time...
lol 97
how cope? know it was his time he was fucking ancient

Dude, you may be a troll or whatever, but I'm actually scared shitless of what I'm gonna do when my gramps dies. He turned 90 a few months ago. He took care of me when I was a kid more than my parents did. He was like my first best friend I've ever had, I could always confide with him. And he's generally awesome.

So, condolences.
