>>sad because they will never get a high budget hollywood film made about us in WWII because the American market is so much bigger

you fucking pleb

based Nolan is making kino about Dunkirk

This retreat permited the UK to stand against the nazis, the UK, representing the free world. Nothing to be ashamed about. Be proud.

oh yeah buhu britain is such a bad case of not being portaited nice in the movies im crying now

What about the Imitation Game? Anyway, there are more movies about American movies, not only because of the market size, but because most big movies are made here and because we contributed more to the Allied effort.

But Hollywood shapes the popular culture globally and the way we're represented was retreat. Feels bad.

America always makes British people the baddies in films which I don't care about but we always get left out of WWII films and I'm jealous.

about America in WW2*

this,
the only movie I remember my country being in had a girl cry when she found out where she was

>America always makes British people the baddies in films

Have you seen Hacksaw Ridge? What did you think of it?

Britain has nice heroes. Why don't they make a movie about the Battle of Britain or based Jack Churchill for instance?

Viktor Krum from the Harry Potter movies was Bulgarian and the Bulgarians played in the world cup final

>Have you seen Hacksaw Ridge? What did you think of it?

and krum catched the snitch
but ireland won

Why not make a low budget then?

>Why don't they make a movie about the Battle of Britain or based Jack Churchill for instance?
Because our film industry is utter shit and everyone with any talent goes to America

> Nolan
> Kino

this

How was the Dunkirk retreat even possible? Did the blitzkrieg just take a rest day?

Hitler let them retreat. As a sign that he didn't want war with the british and was hoping to sign a peace. Of course some people would have you believe it differently...cough cough.

Nazi propaganda

And the other is Allied propaganda. Great argument.

>The German troops had been fighting for two weeks straight without a break, something that an old Great War soldier like Hitler knew all too well. They needed time to rest, replace their losses and reorganize their forces, which had taken heavy losses in France. The German armor had outrun their infantry and supplies, having advanced much faster than expected, and were running out of fuel and ammunition. Also, the ground around the Dunkirk area wasn’t ideal for tank operations, full of the marshes and canals that had bogged down German soldiers in the First World War. The pause made sense to Hitler for another reason: Luftwaffe head Herman Goring had assured him that air power could wipe out the British on the beaches, and Hitler was all too happy to give him a chance.

>It was first given by General Gerd von Rundstedt, commander of Army Group A, which was the large force fighting in western France. In turn, the pause was requested by von Rundstedt’s tank unit commander, who had lost 50% of his armored forces and needed time to regroup.

>France will always be denigrated and its moments of heroism and greatness, both from Vichy and the resistance, are forever forgotten

Better to be a people of heroes living in shame than a people of cowards living in denial like the Anglos, I guess.

>Resistance
>Implying that it was usefull

>we contributed more to the Allied effort
fuck off did you

you supplied the enemy with arms for half the war claiming neutrality and only turned up at the end after some japs crashed intsy wincy planes into your boatsy woatsies

>implying Bir Hakheim wasn't a feat of glory and heroism

>Wanting to be the subject of WWII movie # 1346
Literally who cares.

At least it's still acknowledged you even participated in the world wars.

Canadian cuckery and American bravado has erased our war history from the public mind.

Canadian, ANZAC and Polish forces are all especially celebrated in the UK.
