Why didn't portugal splinter off into little countries like the spanish americas?

why didn't portugal splinter off into little countries like the spanish americas?

cause Dom Pedro II

How many viceroyalties did Portugal have? How did they divide the land?

Most amazonian tribes don't even know they're in Brazil.
In reality, known and properly habitable Brazil is not that big, about the size of Peru.

literally none, Portugal was centrist as fuck.

Because cariocas kept the other regions in line.

>known and properly habitable Brazil is not that big, about the size of Peru.
'no'

Nope

I would say about the size or Argentina, there is a lot of habitable land in the north and even in the Amazonas, not everyone lives in the coast

So that's in part why you are only one country.

Spanish ex-colonies nationalism is pretty funny I must say.

this is also true Brazil had many secession revolts, but they were all quenched by the evil centralist government

Superior Luso genes. Spics are prone to infighting.

In a couple years you're gonna ask why was Spain balkanized.

It sounds like what happened here (Mexico) after our independence. Besides Texas, we also had many secession revolts, although pretty much all of them were crushed by the centralist government, except for Texas because they cried to the US, and well, you know the rest.

>brazil
>superior luso genes
jajajaj you are proud of how that ended up? you got some wierd sense of humor caralho

yeah, most of them happened when Pedro I after declaring independence had to return to Portugal after a liberal revolt in Portugal due to the royal crown fleeing to Brazil after Napoleon's invasion, when he returned to Portugal he left his son Pedro II for the Brazilian Crown , but he was still a child, and a temporary junta had to govern until he was 18, tons of revolts especially republican ones appeared in the South, North etc. The junta managed to hold off until he became 15, which then they declared him not a minor anymore, and Pedro II literally crushed every single rebellion and unified the whole country

Portugal gave brazilians something to be proud of,we gave them the land and annexed uruguay and shit.
To make it brief, the portuguese(both colonials and mainland) fought and conquered foreign lands and this gave some prestige to the ''luso trademark''

they didn't fought for the independence, our king gave it to them.
Basically our king was born there and he was like:''shiet brazil is motherfucking big mah nigga and there's alot of bunda here'' and grew nostalgic of brazil while he was in portugal so he declated himself imperator of brazil ,gave independence to brazil and gave portugal to his daughter.
Brazil and Portugal had from that point on a permanent alliance bonded by direct blood.
Nigger republicans from brazil were like :'' fuck that i'm japanese/german/italian,etc and fought for the republic. And then they also worked so they could separate from the rest of brazil but then they got fucked up by the luso-brazilian master race

memes/10

Yes, every human being lives in the coast.
Niggers don't count as real people.

rude to be honest

>Niggers don't count as real people.
Then no one lives in Brazil. Pro tip most of our Black population is in the coast because there were the ports from where they entered

>Niggers
this is why people make fun of you
actual black people are the ones that live in the coast more. you're talking about "cabezas negras", the pardos and mestiços

It's funny because almost all our black population lives in the coast

Cut the guy some slack. He wouldn't know where black people usually live because there is none in his country

i won't
if he's can't talk english for shit he should do it in spanish

Pretty much all of our black people (around 1% of the population) also lives in the coast.

The Spanish colonies HAD to be divided. Perhaps not as much as they were, but before the railroads lands divided by a major mountain range (the Andes) were naturally parted in twine. Argentina and Chile, Colombia and Venezuela, Bolivia and Peru, et cetera, were parted out of necessity.

Brazil for the longest time was a coastal colony. Portuguese Guyana (north of the Amazonas) and Amazonas were considered separate colonies at first, but later consolidated into the mega colony of Brasil.

that is completely wrong, centrism only happened with the marques do pombal (which coincides with Rio de Janeiro becoming the new "capital city"), until then it was a complete chaos
there were several admiralities which acted with a lot of freedom. The only reason Brazil is a single country is because our royal family went there and never came back

What he's missing here user is Brazil was basically just the coast back then, all they did inland was exploitation.
