Why did the West declare war on us but not on the USSR?

Why did the West declare war on us but not on the USSR?

They literally declared death to all capitalist nations for Christs sake. Also they tried to invade Poland in the 20s. It's not like Poland is some some sacred land that is worth a fucking world war.

because hitler was a vegetarian and we couldn't let that be

apparently it is xd

USSR managed to genocide less people and be less obviously evil at that time. It would've also helped if you hadn't declared war and tried to Anschluss several European countries.

> Polish education
When the war began, there hasn't been any genocide yet.

The West WAS more concerned about the USSR since 1917. Even during the 1930s, communism was seen as a much bigger problem than Germany. Let's not forget that Britain actually did go to war with the USSR straight after WW1 for a few years, pic related.

What happened is that Hitler started chimping out before Stalin. The Nazis knew Britain would enter a war if Poland was attacked and they did it anyway.

Germany, from its behaviour, wanted a war with the West. That's what it got. Because of the Germans, the Soviet experiment lasted many many years longer than it otherwise would have.

Bravo.

>USSR managed to genocide less people and be less obviously evil at that time
eeh no, it was actually worse

Because the USSR wasn't threatening (((them)))

At that time it wasn't, and it was less obvious. Many people who count Hitler's and Stalin's crimes actually forget that Stalin lasted much longer and had more people under his rule.

>Why did the West declare war on us but not on the USSR?
Because you invaded the West first? Stupid question

But also keep in mind that:
A) A lot of the atrocities of the USSR were not known at the time.

B) Spheres of influence. Germany attacking France and Great Britain (Western Europe) is more egregious than Germany attacking Poland or Czechoslovakia (Eastern and/or Central Europe). We also had more trade with France and UK than probably all of Eastern Europe combined, and $$$ supersedes ideology every time.

C) Jews. Seriously, it's never a good idea to make a group that is statistically very rich and very well-educated your enemy. Especially if that group also has controlling interests in a lot of newspapers.

Because Hitler was a bad artist, who would want to be allies with a guy who can't draw a pictures. Really who? Japs is not an a answer they are not humans (just space aliens).

> They literally declared death to all capitalist nations
That was Trotsky. Stalin reverted that policy and started to build "socialism in one state".

The Jews weren't rich in eastern Europe. They were already being persecuted there for ages

> The West WAS more concerned about the USSR since 1917
No. At first west was okay with it because thought civil war and commies fuck up Russia beyond repair and it would never recover. Support to white movement was more like a sabotage - they sold spoiled ammunition etc. And all intervention was to secure allied goods in Russian ports and take them back.

This.
The Russian Empire was antisemitic.

Churchill actually wanted to bomb Soviet targets.
Sometimes I wonder if Churchill was completely incompetent at strategical matters.

>It's not like Poland is some some sacred land that is worth a fucking world war.
That's precisely what it is, you unholy creature.

>the West

>The Jews weren't rich in eastern Europe. They were already being persecuted there for ages
>The Russian Empire was antisemitic.
But Poland wasn't. We were literally the Jewish centre of Europe for quite some time.

No, the civil war was a very bad thing for the Western WW1 allies. We needed to Russia to stay IN the war. It was terrible for two main reasons.

1) The Russian civil war allowed Germany to concentrate everything on the Western Front and prolonged the war for many months, which was a disaster

2) All property owners in the West were completely terrified by the ideology of communism, and the Communist International started spreading very quickly

Nobody thought USSR would become what it become. It should be civil war and collapse and anarchy and Russia would be weakened forever divided into a lot of pieces. And Russia was a competitor to other powers before. Especially for UK - see great game and conflicts before. France didn't want strong developing Russia too.

You could provide serious help to white guard but you didn't. Because white guard were imperialists who wanted united Russia - it's their slogan.
And about reds - Americans traded a lot with USSR. A lot of factories, power plants and many industrialization projects were made with their help by their specialists. Not for free ofc.
Even gaz truck is ford aa.

The UK and Russia had started to co-operate from the 1907 Anglo-Russian agreement. The Great Game basically finished in that year.

Germany was scared of Russia. The UK wanted the Russian Empire to stay in one piece because it provided a counter-weight to Germany.

>Nobody thought USSR would become what it become.
I disagree. People back then weren't stupid.

The Russian Empire was industrialising at a rapid rate before the civil war so everyone knew Russia was becoming more powerful, whoever ruled it. People knew the Bolsheviks were very bad news. People knew they couldn't control events in Russia in the aftermath of WW1.

>You could provide serious help to white guard but you didn't.

We actually couldn't. All of our resources were being used to fight the war, and afterwards we were broke.

>Japs is not an a answer they are not humans (just space aliens).
Is there any proof for this tho

the west didn't really care about Poland. their "declaration of war" was them sitting at the border.

instead of trying to play it cool like Russians with Crimea, you guys had to go full retard and actually invade other countries just because they put some ill equiped pesants at the border.

>the west didn't really care about Poland. their "declaration of war" was them sitting at the border.

And a naval war almost as soon as war was declared

Yeah, lot of that.

>Germany attacking France and Great Britain
i'm not even taking a stance in this thread, but come the fuck on, at least get your facts right

People underestimated the Bolsheviks.

They thought they were just some edgy trouble makers like Occupy Wallstreet, but the Civil war and their shocking brutality showed that they were fucking ISIS and the Antichrist.

Imagine that ISIS would capture India. That's how shocked people were when they won the civil war.

couldn't take on both of you at the same time, couldn't declare on only soviets either
