Do any anons on here own a super car? If so what make what model take pick and time stamp if possible and is it expensive as hell to insure as people say and does anyone have the particular car in the photo?

Use to own a Lamborghini Gallardo, it was bright yellow.

Then I ended up trading it in because I was facing Financial issues.

Plus it was a little annoying to drive, because every time I got it cleaned and then parked it somewhere it would always get hand prints from people trying to look in, that got old pretty fast..

Also they're made to drive, and I'd only drove it on special occasions but the clutch went out from not driving it often.

Damn thing was a pain when I think about it..

Got a 2015 zo6 corvette now with a 2010 ford pick up and I'm ok with that.

what was in the process of buying it insurance, papers, etc...

Getting it insurance was easy, all they did was get the PIN number off the car and charged me every month to keep it on the list.

Only issue was the fact it cost 2,500 a month to insure it every month, and it was also part of the reason I needed to trade it in.

Why do you ask?

Want to go in debt for a super car? Haha

nah I was looking into possibly buy a Porsche cayman 2016 and I was thinking it would be like $3000 a year for insurance

Not OP but I'm more curious about the financial issues. What went wrong?

the Porsche cayman 2016 is 53k but then theres a 4 door alfa romeo at 70k im torn I wish I was rich enough to get konigsegg agera ive seen an agera going for 934k

Not sure, but if you're under 21 your insurance for any kinda super car will be much higher then a 30 year olds insurance payments.

Age differs a lot, some insurance company's won't even insure you if you're under 21

Bentley Continental Flying Spur. W12 engine in my baby. Insurance is retarded, carry minimal. Seriously who could afford to payout if they hit my car?

question if I ever was able to get a agera and we are talking 30k a year for insurance super cars depreciate fast if im correct do to wear and tear would my insure go down due to the cars age and over all usage ?

At the time I was facing a devorse and everything was split 30/70 because the judge was a fucking white knight.

Lost a lot of money, time and trust.

bently continental ? fucking noice....

OP here sorry to hear that user .___ .

>does anyone have the particular car in the photo
So that's a Koenigsegg Agera? There's like one hundred of those cars in the world

and your point .____ . lol and im sorry but I meant to say does anyone have a koenigsegg in general

>would my insure go down due to the cars age and over all usage ?
no.
insurance costs are based on 3 things
1) the amount of damage you're likely to cause
2) the costs to repair damage to your car
3) the cost to replace your car if damaged beyond repair.

1 & 2 aren't going to change no matter how badly a car depreciates. so neither will the insurance.

Just thinking what would the odds be of finding an Agera owner :) it's a magnificent car though

damn.... damn you governments of the world , damn you dmv , and damn you chirstian von koenigsegg for your beautiful machine ill never drive.....

Look at stradman on YouTube his insurance for his lambo is less than 300 a month. It depends on where you live not as much as car.

good point ._.

Play the lottery. Haha

Or maybe just rent and one for a couple days?)

less than 300 ? .___ . this arouses me

this.

my car wasn't a super car, but still. the guy in the red honda blew through a redlight, hit my car, sandwiched me into the car behind me and my challenger ended up being totaled.

and the guy in the red honda?
he had minimum coverage required by law. his $10,000 property damage clause was split 4 ways to cover the costs of all the people he hit. which wasn't nearly enough.

tl;dr
insure your shit people. and get gap coverage.

Look up his video on lambo insurance it's on YouTube he goes over maintenance and insurance and anything he pays money for on it.

2nd pic

you know if you put the value of that car as a down payment, you could buy a house for that amount of money as a mortgage and actually make a profit when you sell the house. Cars depreciate like mad. idk about super cars and collectors items, but seems like a horrible investment

I'm sorry for your loss man what happened? Or is that recent. Any new car now?

if I saved up enough would a Rolls Royce Wraith be worth buying I think it is beautiful the insurance is at $1000 per year I believe or shold I buy a Bentley cont like the user above ?

kek amerifag

Not lambos or Ferraris they don't get any lower look at super speeders rob talk about buying a old Ferrari vs buying the new stingray. Stingray depreciates quick where the Ferrari was the lowest it'll ever be and start to go up. In few years hell made more money on the Ferrari it was investment.

Super cars are investments look at the Honda nsx they were cheaper a few years ago but now they are climbing in valve. Anyone who got one then made good investment.

OP here yeah that shit suck tbh not a big challenger fan but that was a nice blue one sorry for your loss user

is a 911 turbo considered a supercar?

Yes, this, cars are by no means an investment.

The money you would go in debt for to buy that car could of been enough money to start your own buissnes.

As someone once said..

>The one who keeps spending all his saved money on frivolous things the seeds of greatness are not within him.

nop

sports car, but you can't go wrong with a 911 turbo

So does that asshole still owe you money?

because otherwise, if you had to cover the costs that his insurance didnt cover, doesnt that incentivize getting shit insurance for a shit car and not giving a fuck who you crash into?

i think its a sports idk I believe it could be a low end super if that's yours nice whip user

>land of the free
Murrica. Pay for healthcare. Insurens doesen't cover shit. Amazaing how you'll allow such bs. Cheapest insurens cover everything (exept own car if it is your fault).

No way, if you know you could flip any super car then everyone would be doing it.

It's a gamble, and if you want to gamble you're better off playing the lottery.

No, but they're pretty nice sports cars.

I have a thing for front-engine cars made by supercar manufacturers.

Only thing special I own is a near pristine E46 M3 coupe. TiAg. 6MT. Etc..

i was turning left at the light at that intersection. saw the honda was going to run it, so i actually didn't go when the light turned green. the suv in the other turn lane went ahead of me. he got hit, he's flipped on his side in pic 2. then the honda bounced of him and started sliding towards me while the dindu nuffin behind me started honking at me for not going, and started to go around me... and her door was right there at my back bumper when the honda slammed into me.

pic related is what i did to her car.

and since my car was hit at opposite corners, the sub frame damage to the front and rear suspension was enough to justify the total loss. the car only had 6,200 miles on it.

the wreck was in february of this year.

Broker / journalist here. Been lent many supercars:

Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
Jaguar XJR (supercar-ish)
Lamborghini Murcielago
Ferrari 360
Porsche 911 Turbo

Also driven a couple of Porsche 918 Spyders.

Ask me anything, I guess

are you a top or bottom?
do you swallow?
do you BB?

Not watching super speeders rob who made his million dollar business by investing in super cars.

>very low supercar...

Top, no and I have no idea what BB is

Which ones? I never stop being amazed at just how low the Murci really is.

My uncle owns a older viper. Not really a "Super car" but it's still nice

Well drop a load of money for a super car if you have the funds that's why everyone can't do it. It's the same with investing in real estate. You need money to get in and the money for the risk. Not your average joe.

>So does that asshole still owe you money?
>Insurens doesen't cover shit
yeah, he and i have the same insurance company, so i have no idea what is gonna happen to him. he's logged as the at fault driver, and my insurance policy covered my damages and i was guaranteed that me making a claim against my own policy would not affect my insurance rates since i wasnt' at fault. the insurance co may or may not sue him. i don't know, don't really care. i'm not injured physically, and it's only cost me about $3k out of pocket for shit like a rental, down payment on the new car, various other related minor expenses. i'm not gonna waste my time to go after a guy that's gonna take 10 years to pay me back $3k. it sucks, but over all, i'm fine.

>that was a nice blue one
>Any new car now?
yeah, pic related. that's my new one.

old one was a 2015 5.7v8 with a manual
new one is a 2016 6.4v8 with a manual.

Value on my gen M3 has risen 6% since March according to KBB.

Many other cars appreciate when production numbers are low.

Many things by Ferrari especially; other BMW's; 996 GT2 and GT3's are holding well; Lexus LFA is worth a bit more than what they were new.

.__ . well well mister high-end here lol i go a few questions when i buy any high-end vehicle not bmw or tesla im talking audi r8s , ford gt , Ferrari 458 , Bugatti lol not happening would i have to sign papers with the government and everything like saying you will not go this fast you cant do this or this with your car i know the user above old me how insurance works with high-ends but is there any way if my insurance was lets say 2000 , could i get it lowered to 1000 or 900 ?

Yea but that's when people are already rich, if you're already wealthy then all problems solved.

The rich get richer and the poor get pooer..

Hmm pooer.. Is that even a word? Idek

>Bugatti, McLaren, Gumpert...

Just get the SRT or the Hellcat...

m.youtube.com/watch?v=a0YEMmyCZRA
While this doesn't represent every case rob does make a point his investment on the Ferrari made him more money because it didn't depreciate any lower than it did and is actually going up in price vs getting the new corvette. Seriously watch the video.

Read

2015 Mercedes c250 here.
Not supercar but it's a fun car.

Again was rob a rich man to get rich no he started with big risk going for super cars and snow balled his way to where he is now. Again yes rich people can do it but also the poorer people if you have the incentive and not your debby downer attitude of I'm too poor for the risk. Look at rob it's a great example of a investments gone good. While some cars do get total loss because of renters he still is doing good and has money for the risk because he made the initial investment years ago to be where he is today.

With Ferrari, nearly all of the more special, non-production ones fetch hundreds of thousands more within just a few years.

The problem is you already have to be on their clientele list to buy.

I get by...

I can't comment on insurance, as mine has always been through a company policy organised by somebody else. Generally I end up signing a waiver for speeding tickets and parking fines but that's about it. I've never heard of a government or private contract about speeds! Trading the cars between continents can be very tricky (especially China),

I deal with some clients who habitually buy these cars and most of them aquire the cars through brokers like myself. The only documents are letter of intent (LOI) and proof of funds (POF) from the purchaser's side, as well as risk-passing paperwork. If you've got the funds you've got the car, simple as that.

i like this car very nice user how much we lookin at for insurance? are people at the Mercedes dealers asshole i heard that they were because they think their cars are god-tier -_-?

That car. I have boner right now.

Depends on where you live watch stradmans video on lambo insurance.
m.youtube.com/watch?v=zwyg-T0ETpk

poverty class? kek

seriously doe it's really nice, I'm just jelly

i got a scat pack. which pretty much is an SRT at heart, but without the annoying price.

i have the SRT motor, transmission, tires, i have the same suspension and slotted brembo brakes from the 2014 srt, and the 2015+ srt only have slightly bigger brembo brakes, and a circuit racing suspension. which is laughable on a 2+ ton car meant to go in a straight line... and costs $10,000 more than mine. and the hell cat is $40,000 more than my car.

the SRT simply isn't worth it unless you intend to take this beast to a track day on a circuit.
and i just can't afford a hellcat.

CLK gen was the last true C class Merc's.

Modern Merc sedans look so cheap.

How much cheaper was the scat vs the hellcat or srt8?

Does a Lotus count?

depends. will it start when you turn the key?

nice lotus man , i think it counts as a sports too i think ?

You can't afford a Hellcat but you can afford to upkeep something with like $6k brakes?

I pay a little under $3000 a year for full coverage and absolutely everything I can get through the Mercedes dealer insurance. Plus it's a bit higher because I am 24.

>are people at the Mercedes dealers asshole i heard that they were because they think their cars are god-tier -_-?
I went to two dealers before I purchased.
>dealer 1
Old guy around 50-60 approached me and I asked him to test drive the c250 along with other questions. He was then condescending the whole time constantly giving me shit for no reason.
>dealer 2
Walked in, guy gave me everything I wanted along with a free lunch to talk about cars and stuff. Bought from him and he has given me support numerous times for free through his personal mobile number including when I was tuck in a flood and needed to get helicoptered out. Then helped me with the car right off process.

Paid for it in cash. My girlfriend and I putting up 50% of it but I drive it 99% of the time.

thanks man. have another pic.

>most unrelieable car UK ever made

I disagree 100% haven driven both.
Girlfriends family has the older models and I notice the older ones feel quite cheap compared to the new one.

Appearance wise I much prefer the 2015 models.

I can say my experience as a BMW owner at the stealership was less than ideal. Fuck they were assholes.

Obviously never owned Austin allegro. tr7. Morris Marina, Vauxhall Viva, Ford Escort/anglia/cortina....Ad-Infinitum

my scat pack was $39k - $2k under msrp
SRT is about $50 becuase they all get marked up about $2500 over msrp
Hellcat is usually close to $80k because they usually have all the options and get marked up $10k over msrp

brake pads are only a few hundred. calipers and rotors... no idea... but i doubt it's $6k.

yeah, every time, unlike my other car

How's the z06? I was thinking of getting one, just got rid of my gtr because I found it quite boring. (went good, but constant awd and no manual tranny really kills the driving experience for me)

Not a super car. Just a fucking gocart with a car engine. Go sit in and drive one and you will know exactly what I mean.

Uncomfortable as fuck, literally nothing inside.

If you have 6 or 8 piston calipers and actual 2 piece rotors an entire brake job would exceed $6k.

I know some SRTs do have bb kits. That shit isn't cheap, but they add a lot to the car.

You need to dress and posture yourself like an asshole with money don't walk in asking like so what's the price on this vs a cheaper option. It's all the class talk. While some dealers are nice regardless some have prejudice and don't waste time on someone who buys the baseline. Or looks like they can only get the baseline.

I have this

Drives really smooth , always turn heads , all stock

2015

i swapped out the engine with a v12, interior is all leather.

no fucking way a v12 would fit in that

Do you do the work yourself or take it to dealer? I'm a mechanic so I do all my car work my own from gaskets to brakes to electrical you name it.

Daddy and Grand Daddy got a lot of money so...

>You need to dress and posture yourself like an asshole with mone

kek, I walked in with thongs and a singlet when I purchased mine.

Even got most packages including the vision package, sound package and suspension package.

Mfw they could not tell if I was a serious buyer or not and they had to treat me as if they were but I could clearly tell they were not sure.

M70 will fit in a z3 so it fits in anything and it's a v12.. The s70 is the only v12 I'd swap in something.. 1000 hp twin turbos.

Wow I thought #s would be much better.

Carfag here, I've always not seen the point of supercars. Is it the image or what? Because I'm a rally fag so no "supercar" really does justice to enduro racing which is basically the art of turning a car into a sack of shit by the finish line then rebuilding it.

Not hating, just don't understand the draw.

Ur in the wrong thread mate.

This is a 90k+ club.

Op here im stuck with this right now ..... also are the new vipers worth get they look really nice but you just never see them or hear about them so can someone give me some insight on them

im guessing you dont know many mexicans

Well,thats Lotus

It's the image. You want people to know you have money.

Essentially the same thing as luxury clothing.

Nothing wrong with it.

nah, i don't thinks they're that intense.

i just went and took a pic, looks like they're just 4 piston calipers with one piece slotted rotors.
