Fuck, I was actually told this once by someone close to me. She's not wrong

I can't complain, but I've been feeling pretty down lately. I've been off work for almost 6 months at this point and it's starting to get to me. It also seems like most of the friends I have left are only around to try to take advantage of me.

I'm starting to think that I need to get away from here. Go somewhere else and start over.

Not who you were talking to, but I had a similar realization recently about most of my friends just being there for benefits. The way you say "most", is it safe to assume you at least think some aren't like that? I can only speak for me, but I just tried my best to get closer to the friends that weren't like that.

That helped a bunch because genuine friends usually know other genuine people that you can get to know better. Also, stick up for yourself. You're your strongest advocate, and whatnot. Most people are too weak to actually step on others for an advantage if there's resistance.

Either way, stay strong my friend.
