The thing that is fucking dangerous is that there are valves on the top of the tanks. If those diaphragms in the valves are leaking enough, they can ignite and blow the tanks.
Chances are they will just cause a minor fire but why risk it.

that's the real concern. it's not the tanks themselves but a leak in the tanks.

When i start to cut metal i turn on just the acetylene, light it, then slowly apply oxygen until i get the right flame to cut. Plain acetylene burns easily
