>watching anything but F1 and TC2000
embarrassing desu

What happened?

Plenty of GT cars if that is your thing.

with < 5 mins in the race the Toyota lost power and did not finish.

Japan companies have only won one Le Mans race.

Ran out of gas

Aint that the goddamn truth. Damn plebs watching exciting racing... fucking morons

Had a power failure, not out of gas.

also lemans 1999, never forget

>Hybrid

>F1
>good
>TC2000
>good
stop it you disgusting shit

Any more webms of crying Toyota crew?

>Japs

My favorite le mans car of all time

Why the fuck does toyota have such shitty rotten luck, goddamn it

F1 is literally the COD of motorsport. Shit.

story behind it? please

Let me check

>Losing at the very last moments to a German manufacturer

Why does this keep habbening to toyota?

>Oreca

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans
>By dawn the #17 BMW was 4 laps in front of its sister 15 BMW, it looked like nothing could stop the BMW's. At approximately 10am JJ Lehto driving #17 BMW suffered a stuck throttle and crashed in the Porsche curves. The front of the car was badly damaged and could not continue. This left the sister #15 BMW almost a lap ahead of the #3 Toyota which had been quietly cruising around at a steady pace.

>With this sniff of a win Ukyo Katayama put the foot down in the Toyota and set the fastest lap of the race of 3:35. He narrowed the gap to less than a minute till again a tyre blowout befell the Toyota team. Ukyo was however able to return to the pits for new tyres and continued. By then bar any problems for the BMW the race was out of reach.

What did he mean by this?

1994 was also bad

Toyota will never ever do it

Forever second will never win

>Keichi Tsuchiya was driving in this race

Thank you

"Someone out-wobbled me, finally I can return to my home dimension"

Hello darkness my old friend...

Le mans cars all look the same these days

>Not knowing what Oreca is

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oreca

Also happened in 1994.

>1998
>toyota play with the ruled
>have a overkill lmp1 car
>can't beat the real gt1 cars
>1999
>toyata is invincible
>the 1st car crash
>the 2nd car crash/tire blow at the end of the race (webm)

>doridori will never be your teammate
>he will never roast you irl

>L I T E R A L L Y all three cars in that pic are of designs which were susceptible to lifting off the ground
>and it all happened in the same year

wew la. 1999 was an odd year for German manufacturers.

>been awake for 39 hours
>toyota's loss left me empty inside
>I feel nothing

The baku gp was horseshit

me too, I'm so sick and tired of VWL

>He doesn't shitpost about car manufacturers
look at this assmad GM fangirl

They were so close. They did excellent all day and shit happened. 25 years since a Japanese manufacture has won at Le Man.

The GT1 class had the best cars desu

What happened to Wobbler's team? I notice they were the last placed LMP1 team, finishing behind even some LMP2 cars?

His team won the C'ship last year didn't they so what happened?

...

>Not knowing who Team Oreca are

Seeing this goddamn viper in EVERY racing game between 1996 and now should have made you familiar with the company

The old good time

Backstory please....

Did driver fuck up or they ran out of gas?

Christ I remember this car, looks absolutely epic

I had a picture of it on the inside of my locker at school (yes I was sad), even though I had no idea what LMPs were at the time, or what endurance racing was. THAT'S how good it looks.

Mark Webber team?

Had some issues early in the race and never was in contention.

>he unironically doesn't watch Top Race or Turismo Carretera

>Le somehow faster than LMP GT1car

They build a ton of those, (at least 27 of them) which is a huge number for a race car.

General power failure. It a complicated hybrid engine.

The dangers of driving a prius on steroids.

Damn that sucks. Always a fan of the Wobbler

Broke down. They weren't even classified because their last lap was too slow or something. So they didn't even some 2nd. They essentially came last.

You have to finish the last lab in 6 minutes or you will not be viewed as finishing the race. They did that due to teams rolling out broken down cars to make the finish then breaking down since they can't make a full lap. It was becoming a safety hazard.

Thank you gents

They all look COMPLETELY different, and have completely different drivetrains. For the LMP1's, at least.

I will miss the open top LMPs, I understand this was the last year for them.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

prototypes have been ugly as fuck for years especially with the fins

Well, it surely would win a 23:57h of Le Mans.

blame the faggot black privateer BMW lm nazicar for fucking with the toyota

R390 is so fucking beautiful

And so are these
I drove the shit out of these in the gran turismo games, goddamn based Oreca

youtube.com/watch?v=eerCeCWHnJM

Still the best blunder.

THANKS

has Nissan ever been within reach of winning, or at least given adequate competition in their Le Mans history?

surely the R390, R92 cars did something?

>Memesmo

Think the highest they ever placed was fifth.

is that fucking milo at 0:20?

Would you replace lmp2 with gt1?

24h with lmp1 lmp2 gt1 gt3 would be awesome

No. The name is poisoned.

We might get GT-Hybrid eventually. ACO doesn't want GT3s racing in the 24h of Le Mans and they're meant to be geared towards a "gentleman" class, or used to be, in order to keep costs down which keep rising.

LMP2 is in a bit of a fucked place. American manufacturers don't want to spend as much money as P1 teams do, so it suits us to allow manufacturers in the class. However, P2 in Europe has great participation but then you run into the problem of "fake Silvers" and teams that have massive budgets which could be participating in an LMP1-Lights.

Takes a lot of thinking and bartering to make any significant change so don't expect anything soon.

GT1 is not going to happen as says.

I think you are going to see a two tier Prototype and a two tier GT setup for some time. Though it wouldn't surpise me if they end up with a "new, less expensive GT" class for privateers that eventually gets pricey.

Holy shit....

are the first two at road Atlanta?

Yep. And that's not even all the flips

...

Those elevation changes sure did cause issues. Still a great track to visit a race at.

They took her

>a fucking production based car dominating Le Mans
what a year

Twelve hours later and I still feel disgusted and sick with this

Toyota pres says he's thankful for all the heartfelt and sincere support they've gotten.

He wants to return next year and challenge the race again with an even better car.
as-web.jp/sports-car/24659

All you fags who kept memeing about Toyota withdrawing from Le Mans should stick to F1 threads.

>implying you're not a shit
