It's not very rich like Germany or UK.
But it's nor poor like most of the world.
Poland is in this spot where people are thinking "I think it might be shit but there's a huge chance it's ok by now".
It's all caused by lack of information/knowledge and enforced stereotypes.
As a Pole I'd never say Poland is shit but I'd also never say it's how I want it to be, we have a long way to go regarding wages or infrastructure.

Just some episodes, a Polish friend told me:

If people in Poland see, that burgles rob the neighbors house, the wouldn't call the police. Only if the neighbor is coincidentally a really good friend or so.

Having been there for a holiday/ sightseeing trip with the family was the most depressing thing.
