He could be

Kanye

What do you mean?

Nt Kanye

He's not better than Kanye or Pharrell, so no.

No doubt

...

nice b8

...

Nt pharrel

...

Him and Just Blaze are big contenders, for sure.
That and Bink, 9th Wonder, Kanye, MF DOOM, Q Tip, etc.

>no mike dean, no-id, dj paul/juicy j

No love for the south huh.

Kanye #1 undeniable

That's not this guy

Shit, sorry about forgetting NO ID, he's great too.

prince paul on the first 3 de la albums

>J Dilla had been diagnosed with an incurable blood disease named TTP in 2002, and he had also been diagnosed with lupus previously. According to close friend and fellow producer Karriem Riggins the impetus for Donuts came during an extended hospital stay in the summer of 2005. Dilla's friends from the L.A.-based indie label Stones Throw came to visit and brought him a Boss SP-303 sampler and a small 45 record player so he could make music while in the hospital. Dilla completed 29 of the 31 songs on Donuts while still in the hospital.

Is The Unseen his magnum opus?

nah, that would be the further adventures of lord quas

Timbaland

No. Best sampler of all time but not the best producer. Very dope though.

Dilla is still my favorite. Kool Keith gets an honorable mention. MadLib also gets an honorable mention.

>MF DOOM
i love doom as much as anybody on here, but he's no great producer. if you look into his sampling, he basically takes a section of a song and uses it as a beat. he does very little mixing or cutting.

I've only listened to 'prince among thieves' and 'handsome boy modeling shcool'. I will check out those 3 first albums though

Personally I like shades of blue the most, but that's becasue i'm a jazz-fag. But the unseen gets my second place for me, followed up by madvillany.

favorite madlib track is this however: youtube.com/watch?v=vSaN_tRAkOo

further adventures is amazing, but it doesn't quite have the overall consistancy that the unseen has

Paul White is the future of beatmaking

>Money Hungry Bitches
An understandable choice, but still wrong. Fallin is the best.

youtube.com/watch?v=RGZy7wPgQWw

Well yeah, DOOM's method may be simple but it always come out with a great result.

Dilla has mainly been diagnosed with boring beats

further is all over the place in a collected manor, and it's one of the most detailed albums i've ever heard. i also consider it the most psychedelic hip hop album ever made. i think it's really slept on

I'm kind of a bit of a pleb when it comes to beats but I'm just wondering, how come no one mentioned DJ premier yet?

Personally I think Pete Rock is the G.O.A.T

But Madlib has always been the only person who I could consider a close 2nd.

good choice op.

he's one of the most consistent producers, and the essential boom bap producer, but he's nothing too super special really. still great tho

pic related best that ever did it

What are some producers that do more shit like this?
youtube.com/watch?v=Y3hndBQrgbw

if you like christmas sleigh bells sure.

shit forgot to post this too
youtube.com/watch?v=bP4wyIO4WU4

No one does beats like this man, absolutely no one.
His style is too unique, I don't know how he does it, his beats just have a certain touch to them.
One of the best artists Hippity Hop has graced upon us in the last few years.
I wouldn't say he's the best of all time, but he's up there, definitely better than Madlib without a doubt.

epin, Pharrell is the DJ Mustard of 10 years ago

Pete, as someone else said and El-P could contest that position.
I enjoy El-P more, since he's been always showing progress on his production career, instead of resorting to the same thing.

> no one does beats like him
> better than madlib
> can't even articulate why his completely wrong opinions have any merit

Why are lil ugly mane dickriders the mosy delusional fucks on the planet? I swear to god it's retards like you why he quit and lives in seclusion.

ahahahaahahahahhaa yea sure

Ronny J

metro boomin is trash

METRO BOOMIN WANT S'MORES NIGGA

just wanna throw flying lotus out there

That's not Mike Will Made It

...

>This whole thread not mentioning DJ Premier

>This whole thread not mentioning a producer whos been making the same beat for 20+ years

why couldn't you die instead of him

why can't you make a living out of it then you cunt

VIPER, VIPER IS THE BEST. HE GOT SO MANY FUCKIN BANGERS AND LEGIT THEY'RE ALL 10/10.

>mfw when he probably made dont cry lying in a hospital bed

you gotta back up those epic arguments you fool

Nice numbers but I could make that beat in 30 mins lol
