ITT: Amazingly Shitty Album Covers

I can never understand how they thought that one was a good idea

i really want to get a vinyl copy just for the artwork

I don't understand this accusation. It's honestly quite good. You're focused too much on the lack of skin textures. There is a couple of very well-realized analogies, such as horned shapes of the masks corresponding to the floor tile pattern, or white elements of the same corresponding to elongated limbs or the scythe, not to mention the lettering. Even lack of shadows (and the difference of manner of their realization from the death and the robed beings in the background) might hint at the noncorporeal nature of the figures. The composition is clearly well-thought, too: compare how location of the blade and 'Dance of Death' corresponds.

tl;dr it's good and you're idiots for solely focusing on muh lack of skin effects.

it's an early draft, not the final version
he sent it to iron maiden, and they used it as a cover
and by the way the artist is a great English painter Dave Patchett

Our forefathers died for this. Jesus Christ.

...

any meshuggah album cover ever

The cassette cover is pretty dope though

Self Titled is ok
The demo cover of Dirt is cool

Theres also a baby in a bikini squaring up while it stands off center on a wolf, but yeah sure skin texture

I think this is arguably the stupidest album cover I've ever seen. I'd rather see a Weezer-style picture of Metallica than this abortion
