Literally all mucore except ITCOTCK and LL.
probably has the most filler of any album I've ever listened to. it's sad because it starts off strong but loses its way less than halfway through.
Which bands?
>Complete and utter ripoff of far superior bands
Please name these bands and albums. I want to hear them.
>inb4 Fela Kuti
wrong
correct, this album is a meme
Im triggered senpai thats a masterpiece youve insulted
I like helpless child but I just don't fucking get it. maybe i need a different mood, every time ive tried I've been drunk and it was like 2 am
...
ITAOTS
jeff's voice gives me an headache
can't into pic related, rivers is just too much of a cornball. blue is alright tho, white was ehh
agreed, one of their worse attempts at poppy stuff imo
Just listen to it louder and 20 more times :)
>listens to Fela Kutti once
Worst Death Grips album to date. I don't know how everyone can favor the album where its so easy to tell that label cracked the whip on them creatively.
Feels like the people making the songs weren't talking to each other. It's pretty but it has no soul.
objectively the worst mu essential
just nostalgia core. i used to love weezer but it's painful listening to it now
nice meme
ex military is definitely more accessible than money store and the fact that this is your main gripe with the album is stupid
this
did you literally only listen to "open and close" and "zombie?"
>ex military is definitely more accessible than money store
Haha, proof is in the pudding. The first half of TMS is much more accessible than anything on Exmilitary. Get Got, The Fever, Blackjack, I've Seen Footage etc.
This album confuses me because parts of it are 10/10 but I agree that it has too much filler.
I don't agree that it loses its way part way through though, some of the best parts are near the end
Do I just need to listen more for the "filler" to click?
Tbh, I think dreampop in general is just not for me
>Sup Forumscore
I think the front end and back end of the album are the best. The fillers are more in the middle. But I still think it's a 10/10 regardless.
you objectively have a bad taste and on top of that you are WRONG.
How dare you
Usually i like Sup Forumscore and Sup Forums opinions but i think you guys were way off on this one...what gives fellas???
AnCo itself is pretty tragic
it's too hard for your untrained ears
Objectively wrong
That's not Government Plates.
I don't think it's atrocious or unlistenable or anything, it just seems spectacularly average
>tfw you find new album cover to fap to.
The "filler" isn't resonating with you because you're not becoming engulfed within the album's world.
In truth the album wouldn't be the same without the noise and loop sections. It offers a much needed downtime from some of the more intense songs/moments. Listen to this album on a midnight walk, or while driving through a foggy night. It's all about the atmosphere. This album builds a world around you like no other, but you can't just listen to it casually. Or at least I can't.
nice post, how's 8th grade going sport?
I figured it was something like that.
I find that the case for a lot of albums, they only really click for me when I'm in a certain mood. Unfortunately, when I'm in that mood I completely forget about the album(s) half the time.
I should make a playlist or something.
its just a shittier version of the beatles
This one has nothing special for it.
Progressive rock in general is pretty weak.
Found the cuck..
Next time you feel like you want to off yourself, go find a secluded place to stargaze and listen to this album in its entirety. It'll change your life. Then listen to Mount Eerie directly afterwards. It'll also change your life. I'd recommend headphones as well, just to pick up on all the subtle nuances, layers, and textures.
Neo-Swans.
I love children of god and stftb but for some reason I just don't like them
this tbqh
this.
Children of God was the only decent Swans record, but even then by that point there were already far more bands doing the same thing but better.
'no'
same
you are a gay fag who is homosexual
I used to hate this until I stopped thinking it was indie and started listening to it as rock. It's pretty seminal
the patricians should protect themselves from me
cheers
>le fucked up speech
>he still hasn't named those bands
>really good first few tracks
>completely abandon established advanced sonic aesthetic for 90s bs
no idea wtf that second part means
Come in Alone smokes the pants of my legs tho
it's got that 90s chord progression and its lighter on the noise
I think Eno was using similar chord progressions in the 70s
Someone had to say it. Still a solid album but its the closest theyve gotten to appealing to bro edm and darkwave/synthpop casuals.
it just sounds like a noisy sitcom theme to me
>artsy dawsons creek
Dude I feel that. I can't explain the appeal, it was a benefit of the doubt thing for me and I've come to enjoy it
although in your defense i still listen to the bends from time to time, its just how that sound is used
>Progressive rock in general is pretty weak.
This part at least is true
Prog is the worst
but why tho
cringy as this is, the general idea is right.
only song i don't like so much after ~30 listens is the Mansion
something about Prog seemed too short lived to be a good genre
But there's a lot of good stuff see pic related
...
How did you just find this cover?
LL?
This
uno good song
thank you for this post
These
All shitty pleb-core
I love Prog but this is a bad list,
If you remove all the ''''''''''''filler'''''''' in the Glow pt.2 it wouldn't feel the same and probably wouldn't be a 9.5 or 10/10
no it aint hek u
to be fair, its an iTunes search for "prog rock". There maybe ~5 great albums there and the rest are good to ok
Not sure if this Sup Forumscore but I've seen on the charts.
Unbearable indie with tedious singing. I love pop, but I guess twee is not my cup of tea :\
>good things there

Uncle Meat
Unrest
In Praise of Learning
ITCOCK
Red
Third
Rock Bottom
Piper
Atom Heart Mother
That's it
....that's half the list man.... thanks :^)
And if Matching Mole isn't good you haven't heard it
and if Kew.Rhone isn't good you haven't heard it
and if Animals isn't good you lack a soul
Remain in Light and Loveless are the only two albums in this thread that patricians would actually defend. I'm not surprised OP thinks patrician means "listening to the Sup Forums essentials," since OP is clearly outrageously pleb
Wait, Kew.Rhone is good, I didn't even see it.
I don't like Matching Mole and Animals just felt mediocre for me
Agreed
Funny, I hate "twee" stuff but this album has always been the exception for me.
I like an album, how cringy... Fuck off dude.
...
Oh come on, I refuse to believe anyone on Sup Forums chooses to "stay quiet" about this album.
I like The Fool and beginning of Oh Comely.
Everything else is either samey and boring or downright terrible
Can't get into MPP? Fuck off! Eat shit, die pleb
How has this not been posted yet?
Hands down the most contrived piece of contrarian bullchit that this board regularly claims to like.
yeah i don't like this one nearly as much as smile
cristgau pls stop being an ideologue i'm sure it wasn't funny 30 years ago either
>contrived
>contrarian
those are its good qualities. in the end though it's just fun and catchy desu
>Fun
>Catchy

there's so many quotable lines and riffs that just stick with you, and the whole dadaism schtick, it's pretty obvious it's going for that, so idunno why some people get so mad over it
First 4 tracks are gud. Fear Of Music is much better
Listen to it laying down in the dark with your eyes closed
Garbage
Get off my board
Wouldn't it be nice if Wouldn't It Be Nice wasn't the only good song on that album?
I liked it
Here's your (You)
Frownland was gud.
whatever faggot, my smile is stuck
I cannot go back to your frownland.
...
Fuck this album tbqhwyf
This is just okay. Nothing particularly special.
I agree.
I like (spoken word) screamo, mathrock and postrock but just cannot get into this album.
I don't find it insufferable or anything, I just don't think it's anything particularly special either. I get why people would think it's good or even great, but have no clue how anybody could consider it one of their favorite albums or anything.
No, fuck YOU
>ripoff of far superior bands
Like who? Who the fuck was mixing Punk with Afrobeat in the 70s?
agreed, it's fine but i can't understand how is it better than any editors' album for example. its just o k a y.
I can't get into this one
