Recommendations for depressing, dark, suicide-core, painful albums

Note: I'm not suicidal or depressed. This stuff is just really good imo.

Anyways, looking for some artist/album recommendations of the darkest, suicide-coreish albums similar to the ones blow. This is kind of what I like:

1) Closer-Joy Division
2) Pornography-The Cure
3) Spiderland-Slint
4) Pinkerton-Weezer
5) The Lonesome Crowded West-Modest Mouse

Also, not sure if I'm doing it right. This is literally my first post on Sup Forums as a long time lurker.

Oh, and I also forgot to put in Deathconsciousness and anything Dan Barret/Have a Nice Life

...

I haven't listened to it in ages but Bauhaus - In the flat field is good

This looks up your alley.
Music isn't that dark but lyrics are (and lyricist killed himself the following year)

Slowcore maybe? I really like Low's I Could Live in Hope

For Emma, Forever Ago Bon Iver

Berlin

This. Slo-core is the definitive "I'm just pretty sad right now, man." genre.

Some albums on my "sad" playlist that aren't on your list.

Antlers - Hospice
Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me
Carrissa's Weird - Songs About Leaving
Low - Things We Lost In the Fire
Mountain Goats - Talahassee
The Microphones - The Glow, Pt 2
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Patron Saint of Bridge Burners - Sorry

the GOAT sad band

Kill your self fagget

Grant Lee Buffalo's "Fuzzy" and "Mighty Joe Moon" albums have some good "sad" stuff. Recommend "Happiness", "Mockingbirds", and "Fuzzy"

I don't know about the lyrics but it has very dark atmophere

All of Xiu Xiu's discography

Also JuJu from Siouxie make my last sadcore list

...

I've listened to Deathconsciousness over and over lately. It almost feels good to think about killing myself over and over.

Not dark (it's actually Emo/Indie) but the lyrics are about suicide.

"I called in sick from your funeral
The sight of your family made me feel responsible
And I found the notes you left behind
Little hints and helpless cries
Desperate wishing to be over

You said you’re trapped in your body
And getting deeper every day
They diagnosed you born that way
They say it runs in your family
A conscious erasure of working class background
Where despair trickles down
Imbalanced chemical crutch
Open up, swallow down
You said “remember me for me
I need to set my spirit free”"

...

Quite an obvious suggestion but this is my go to depressive album.

...

Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
- Cranberries
The Con - Tegan and Sara
Any Smiths album
always seen Hospice by the Antlers being touted as a depressing album

>tfw this thread is pretty much my favourite albums list

Trips don't lie

only if you're an alcoholic tho

This is the OP...thank you guys/gals for the suggestions. I'll go through each one carefully and give each one a fair shot!

This album makes me really sad to be honest

OP again...and holy shit the first two are amazing (Also the trees and manic street preachers). I guess I know what I'm doing the next while to listen to all these suggestions!

the entire trilogy is GOAT

>1) Closer-Joy Division
>2) Pornography-The Cure
>3) Spiderland-Slint
>4) Pinkerton-Weezer
>5) The Lonesome Crowded West-Modest Mouse

1,3,4, & 5 are some of my favorite albums of all time and I'm a huge Cure fan I just haven't listened to much past disintegration and three imaginary boys so I guess I best go check out number 2.

Have you heard In Utero?

...

...

what? this isn't even close to being sad

the queen is dead

WidowMaker, strings on the first part is just

Did you like it

This is one of the darkest albums to listen to

"Songs About Leaving" kills me every time I listen to it, I'm still pissed I couldn't see them live
This is sad core but most of whats being listed here is way different in tone. Xiu Xiu is really agressive experimental pop about suicide. It gives off a way different vibe and feel then something like Carissa's Wierd.

Uaral of Chile
ColdWorld of Germany
Ruins of Beverast
Sovereign of Brasil
Until Death Overtakes Me
