What's Sup Forums's opinion of Arcade Fire?
I really life Afterlife, it sounds like they covered a New Order song
In the Backseat is a pretty neato song
Neon Bible is the best album with intervention being the best on it
I'd agree if it wasn't for Porno being on Reflektor. Their best song by far imo
Probably my favorite band, although I'm willing to consider the idea that my brain is just making them better than they really are due to sentimental attachment.
I think The Suburbs is my favorite record, though.
The Suburbs > Funeral > Neon Bible > Reflektor
I thought only people who usually dislike AF love the suburbs. While far from being bad per se, Suburbs is probably their blandest album yet.
funeral is basically a 10/10 lets be real
theres some incredible live footage of superior version of tracks from the album
funeral > neon bible > the suburbs > reflektor
hopefully the next album breaks the trend
I don't get the circlejerk over how good funeral is. sure, it's a good album but Reflektor is so much more distinct and refined compared to how raw their songwriting still was on Funeral.
thats just it tho the rawness is lacking in their recent stuff
theyve never matched the raw emotion of tracks like tunnels and crown of love
while I can appreciate Win singing his heart and soul out during tunnels and wake up, the more somber, almost disappointed and defeated feelings of Hey Orpheus, Porno and Afterlife somehow resonate more with me.
to each his own I guess
2009, 2010
>you hear you lose
those are defiantly 3 of the best tracks from reflektor
i feel like theyve stop with the entire track build ups which makes funeral so emotional
like those songs do build but do no where near the same degree
figured id share some stuff with you guys
>mega.nz
a demo record they made before the first ep
the only members from the current band are win and regine
different sound but theres some great tracks on here
mega.nz
a random collection of stuff
mostly live recordings of early material and b sides
cars and telephones is one of my all time favourites
mega.nz
soundtrack to the movie "her"
its one of the comfiest sound tracks ive heard
its written by will butler and owen pallett and performed by AF
its fucking great
thank you user, appreciate it
Sprawl II
Are Arcade Fire good live? My friend tells me they're probably the best (popular) live band in the world
Quads don't lie.
I think they may be getting worse with every album, Funeral is superb, Neon Bible was very good, The Suburbs was hugely overrated, and Reflektor was really patchy.. In the Backseat probably my favourite song by them.
Only listened to Funeral and part of The Suburbs before turning it off out of boredom. I really have to be in a certain mood to enjoy their music or else it sounds like the blandest shit ever. Neighborhood #1 and Rebellion are phenomenal though.
agree with this guy
I like that one that goes WOOOOAAAH-OOOOAAAAHH
It kind of folksy, baroque pop instrumentation or some shit. You guys know the one I mean?
A little entry level but still fantastic band, GOAT live
Best album - Neon Bible
Best song - (Antichrist Television Blues)
>sprawl II
Excellent taste.
Fav album: neon bible
Fav song: (antichrist television blues) or crown of love
I can tell from the way you typed WOOOOAAH-OOOAAAAAAHH that you mean Wake Up
>best album
Reflektor
it's also the only good album
>best song
mmm, Porno?
I don't get the hate for Reflektor, i find it very fucking good.
My opinion is:
The Suburbs>Reflektor>Funeral>Neon Bible
Also, Reflektor's disc 1 is miles ahead of disc 2, far better.
I think Reflektor has their best moments, but every other album they released had more consistency.
Afterlife is one of my favorite tracks of that year, but damn if Supersymmetry isn't their most underrated song. SO gorgeous
i real dont get this
reflektor was good but so patchy
the live versions were after way better then the record but that doesnt change anything
basically its peanuts on neon bible and funeral which were track for track incredible
I think it actually goes ADJU-OOOOOOOOAAAAAAHH OAAAAAAAAAHHHH
I'd argue the opposite, Funeral definitely had their best moments. I mean, how do you beat the last Chorus of Rebellion (Lies) ?
Reflektor is still overall my favorite, I really love the vibe of the 2nd half.
Thanks a lot user. You're a nice person
(ATB) it's their GOAT. Nice to see other anons that feel the same
Neighborhood #2
AF is literally my fav band. IMO
Funeral > The Suburbs > Neon Bible
My top songs are
1. Neighbourhood #1: Tunnels
2. Reflektor
3. Intervention
4. Afterlife
5. Neighbourhood #3: Power Out
Im so excited to here their new music theyve been playing at private shows
Great band, started lurking Sup Forums around the time it came out and I think I got lucky there. They're very easy to listen to without lacking depth.
Tunnels / Funeral
