Memes aside, I'm sorta happy we got humiliated tonight

Memes aside, I'm sorta happy we got humiliated tonight.

I'm a huge soccer fan and I fully realize we're literally several decades away from ever legitimately contending with a team like Argentina... at the very best. Even then we'd still have to park the bus and play hoofball. We couldn't even do that tonight. I can't recall a time where we actually strung together 2 successful forward passes.

We're fucking awful.

So now all the bandwagon faggots can fuck off... Until we have a proper foundation for youth development, well never field a competent team. That's just reality.

You know it's dire when Geoff Cameron is our most creative player and is pushed forward because nobody else can pass the ball. Bradley was completely out of his element and players like Beckerman, Windows and Dempsey are fucking done. They aren't good enough.

It's frustrating but until US Soccer invests in infrastructure, this is what we get. At least most of America knows this now.

damn that girl is qt as fuck

That isn't how national play works bro. The bandwagon arrives, leaves and then arrives again.

solid seven at best desu

>dempsey scores a bunch of goals in a major tournament
>gets totally starved of service when we have 33% of possession against a far superior opponent
>he's done

I would also like the bandwaggon faggots to fuck off.

Fact of the matter is that we don't give a shit about soccer. It's a girl's sport here, which is why our women's national team fucking dominates. Young men in our country want to grow up to be the next great quarter back or point guard or or home run hitter or whatever the fuck hockey shit. They want to grow up and be the next Tom Brady not the next Aguierra Babliaggara, winger from South Whosmericstan.

she ever do porn?

we'll win a world cup within 20 years as this country is becoming wimpier more kids are playing soccer

Nobody that's younger than 50 years old cares about boreball

ah yes, the smell of angry gringo bandwaggoners, please write more about how you dont care, its fascinating

2015 World Series, 15 million viewers.

2015 MLS cup, 1 million viewers.

Boreball is shit but divegrass is even worse.

When football gets banned because of all the head trauma people will flock to divegrass. Then we'll get to hear all about how unfair it is that the U.S. dominates yet another sport.

We just need more skillful people who have been playing soccer their whole lives.

All the athletic kids in the US focus on football and basketball.

Imagine if our top athletes were soccer players instead of other stuff? Would LeBron bring win a world cup for da nation?

> literally the 6th or 7th most popular sport here
> still make it to final 4

Can't really complain famalamas

>until US Soccer invests in infrastructure
You what? You need stadiums and fucking balls to kick around. What else do you want?

>MLS
Well no shit most US soccer fans don't watch our professional soccer leagues because they're "not good enough" but they watch A LOT of EPL and other top foreign leagues. I don't know if it's anywhere near 15 million big but I don't think NBC would pay $1 Billion for US broadcasting rights for the EPL if it wasn't pretty big already.

Untrue, Paco.

You can see that the MLB has more frequent attendees (i.e. true fans) than both the NFL and MLShit.

The most watch EPL match of all time on American television drew 1.3 million viewers.

To put that in context, a women's softball match the other night drew 1.4 million.

Yeah, soccer is really "growing."

And lel 1 billion. Relatively small for a LEAGUE tv contract.

The Dodgers and Yankees alone signed 15 billion dollars worth of tv contracts.

No one cares about soccer here, Paco. Unless it's the world cup, where casuals can wave a flag and chant USA.

Most of the competition is trash dude

Infrastructure as in a proper youth system to develop talent, various leagues with competent coaching at all levels and a culture that embraces soccer.

>those legs
>booty you can see from the front
>porcelain skin

If soccer was even as popular as hockey, the US would be consistently in the quarterfinals of the world Cup, and win every once in a while. If soccer was as popular as Basketball or baseball, the US would be Brazil-tier. If Soccer was as popular as football, the US would hands down be the most dominant country in the world.

I think he means an infrastructure that is open for everybody and develops talent all throughout a players childhood to scouting age.Like basketball. The leauge is pay to play when it should make it easier for lower income class to go to the good academies.

Soccer is still a sport for middle class or higher when a lot of the best footballers grew up poor. It eliminates a lot of the potential from the pool tbqhwy.

Give it time. Talent will follow the money, even China is growing by leaps and bounds.

i loved watching you play USA, for real, im hyped for the next World Cup

is this sarcasm user

What did you like? That we play like shit?

Yes, but it's an enterteining shit, have you seen the yuropoors? They play like BORING shit.

besides today's match you played well and was entertainging watching you play ikd man

semifinals seems good to me shrug

>players like Windows
is this real?

>Windows

KEK

thanks chile. I'm rooting for you the rest of the copa, I hope you crush Argentina for the second time in a row.

Divegrass will never be popular enough in the US to make for decent competition in the world scene. There's simply too much money to be made playing other sports for our elite athletes to bother training in it beyond childhood.

Morning lads. Just popping in to say HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

i need to marry her

"If."

I think the American national team could be good in 10-15 years, every kid here plays soccer now, parents don't want to put their kids in football because it's dangerous, but there are fucking huge youth soccer leagues now.

When did Britain last make a quarterfinal?

they said that 15 years ago.

Britain always deserve respect, "Holland", the englishes invented it. Also, bow your head before talking to a World Champion.

Don't be so hard on your country OP, it happens that Argentina has improved a lot on the last few years, even without winning any title. Just look at this copa games for Argentina, except Chile game, all were 3 or more goals scored. Also i liked how your team played, it reminded me (of course) to the german playstyle (without the superior technique with the ball that they have). If it makes you feel better, i was really nervous before the game, and the media here didn't treat you like some easy team to beat. They were also talking about how great you performed at this tournament.

I feel that in some years you will be a really strong football nation if you follow this path.

Yeah but Americans don't realise the dedication you need to become a pro soccer player. Just forget about your go to college and get drafted at 22 if you ever want a top team.

youth academies, amateur leagues for every district in the country and so on, real competition instead of copying the american format of leagues

its funny how coporate shills can cuck USA out of the greatest sport ever

China invented it which is why they're tired of getting cucked and putting so much money into it

The goals are not made after the size of doors from universities in China.

The delusion in this thread kek

Considering the late EPL games are like 11am eastern that's pretty solid

They said it 25 years ago. We all played soccer when we were little kids, but eventually we grew out of it and moved onto other sports.

If Baseball or American Football was popular in Europe the same as Football, probably half of World Cups (there's any WC in this sports?) would be win by Germany, Italy or France so...

Just chill the fuck up and be happy that we don't care about those sports

If Australia had a much bigger population to work with and if soccer was as popular as league, union or cricket, then Australia would be making finals.

See how ifs and buts are bullshit?
