Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Scientologists, Mormons, Muslims and Atheists, it’s time to look at the evidence. Either pantheism is real or we're all in a computer simulation.
>You are constructing your own reality through your brain. You do not see reality as it is because you are a byproduct of evolution. It does not favor reality, it favors survival.
This is a fact.
>The consciousness you experience is a collaboration of processes that were guided into existence by laws of the universe. Electromagnetism, gravity, and the strength in nuclear forces are some of the laws humanity has been able to identify.
This is a fact.
>The universe is as much of you as you are it; you are merely processes of atoms tethered to the laws of the universe and mirroring what you perceive in a subtle way.
This is a fact.
You possess this illusion of being a free willed individual, but in true reality you wouldn't have a sense of self or understanding without your environment’s influence. This has been observed with people who suffer in extreme neglect and lack any kind of language. They're just walking zombies. You are a walking chemical reaction that reacts to stimuli and acts accordingly at a base level. You are formed completely through outside forces, there is no real “you”. There is only the universe and "you" are not in control of a single aspect of anything that happens.
before you trip yourself thinking you is jesus you should learn the difference between fact and reality shit nigga your stuck in your fantasy world you are trying to stick others into.
Austin Richardson
Elaborate.
Jeremiah Sanchez
Where have you seen this posted? You must live in another dimension.
> I'm not special > so either there is someone special that favors me > or it's all not real Feeling insignificant?
Christopher Taylor
wat? How did you get that out of my post?
Dylan Morgan
Humans only know how to think like the transgender sjw's of the universe. We think we are so smart but infact so retarded. Literally like a retarded kid with shit in his pants. Most others are lughing at us.
David Evans
Pretty much.
Juan Martinez
Your core argument is, that humans aren't special, thus we're not the reason for this universe, thus something else must be. Like a god or a simulation. Hence, you aren't capable of dealing with the possibility that maybe neither you nor anything happens for a reason.
Connor Howard
> laughing at the young ones struggling to understand what's happening around them What an outstanding intergalactic community.
James Williams
Thats called mental illness, they are delusional there are tons of mental illnesses like that, feeling that they are being pursued, feeling that their lives are staged, that they are another gender etc.
Juan Cox
My argument has nothing to do with being special or not. My argument is that we're misperceiving reality, ourselves, and there are laws in the universe that are controlling everything. Everything happens for a reason, but it certainly is not a man in the sky making the calls.
John Morris
I could argue the same. Don't try to actually observe what I wrote, just call me insane. These aren't even my ideas, they've been around forever. Modern science has been able to confirm a lot of it though. Realizing this doesn't change anything. The illusions don't just fade away, they're part of our very being.
Joshua Ortiz
> misperceptions You can't measure something without affecting it, so yeah, you're right. > everything happens for a reason Then what is it? The opening scene for simulation? The workings of multiple gods? What makes you so sure that something as an interest in humans developing or our universe?
Alexander Bailey
Ello user. Do you have a kik? We would have a good time speaking. I am as much looking for you as you are looking for me. If, you are looking that is.
Charles Morris
This is the reason for the universe. ALL HAIL THE GREAT CENTIPEDE.
Isaiah Smith
Not him, but thanks. I actually had problems finding it. I searched bing and other porn search engines and that specific video isn't showing up.
Jordan Ward
Im not op. The "reason" things happen are beyond me, as I dont intricately understand every single law that the universe holds. But just as sodium and water create a chemical reaction that will always happen (within the confines of this universe) every law will always follow the same "rules" and can be calculated out. Everything that will happen in the future has already been written out, no matter how you try to change it. you are a reaction. Just as everything is.
Easton Carter
> You do not see reality as it is because you are a byproduct of evolution.
You literally skipped every biology class in elementary school, didn't you? The rest of the OP is just a big deepity and pseudo-scientific nonsense.
You're a retard and this is a fact.
Samuel Hall
Science and mathematics are tools we can use to help bring us to the real answers. We've proven this to ourselves. We can't know for sure though but we're on a path to something.
What is the reason for things happening? Laws. We have four of them at the current moment. Electromagnetism, gravity, and weak and strong nuclear forces. What's behind that though. Why do these laws exist?
Jaxson Ross
Elaborate. That isn't a controversial concept in the slightest.
Hudson Nelson
I'm about to go to work, but what would you like to talk about?
Austin Wood
There is plenty we could talk about. On the same "wavelength" as you could say. If you do not have one, thats fine.
Brandon Smith
>every law will always follow the same "rules" and can be calculated out. Everything that will happen in the future has already been written out.
You got it, user.
Brody Butler
And?
I mean surely there's something more to this than just "To be continued?".
None of this fucking matters if the day-to-day lifes don't change, or if the realization does not somehow change our world or create new technology.
Zachary Kelly
>Atheists you don't capitalize it you autist
Parker Brown
I don't have one, but can we talk here?
Noah Martin
As I said. Same wavelength. Isnt it interesting how the ideas just dont "click" with some people?
Carter Ramirez
It got your dumbass in here, didn't it? This whole post is designed by trial and error. Even the picture of the girl. Nobody would respond otherwise.
Camden Russell
until you go to work then.
Jayden Edwards
Maybe I lost track somewhere but wasn't the core of this argument, that the realization, that stuff just happens according to laws and not someone's direct intervention, what lead op to believe there is either multiple gods or we're inside a simulation?
Christopher Phillips
dammit you're right
Justin Bell
It really is. Why do you think that is?
Camden Stewart
sauce?
Landon King
Im not quite sure. I think it must have something to do with abnormal brain structure. Although our "structure" as i would say would make an interesting world. The normal population cant understand or really cope with some or the concepts. did you come to these conclusions naturally or did you get your insight from reading?
Andrew Wright
We all are a simulation of a machine Praise the Almighty RNGESUS Dictator of all provabilities and Random Events in the Universe the RNG is Everywhere it affects you, it affects me, it affects all May the RNG be with you user who is reading this
Asher Stewart
this
Nicholas Howard
I really don't claim to know the answer. It was bait. However the idea that everything is interconnected is something that is striking to me. Perhaps the universe is a leaving breathing entity itself or perhaps it was designed as a simulation. The fact that everything is already mapped out is fascinating. Nasa can send out something by calculating gravity which is a constant. The idea that we're in a simulation could be inferred by our own technology today. Think of how fast computers games have advanced... What if we made a game with a theorized quantum computer?
Xavier Richardson
>they just don't get us
Super special snowflake here
Owen Collins
First of all, there's no correlation with seeing reality and evolution.
Second, there's no "byproducts" of evolution. The phrase is completely meaningless.
Third, we are who we are not because of evolution. Evolution is just a biological process/tool that (usually) selects the genes that are most present in both parents. Which means that we are who we are because of out enviroment and the procreational choices of our ancestors. After all, when you make a wooden table, you don't say it is what it is because of the byproduct of your hammer, do you?
Mason Walker
I do not praise any being or machine any more than any other.
Adam Cook
sauce?
Dominic Stewart
so you figured out determinism? ok. good for you.
Cooper Watson
Yes yes special snowflake status and all that. But until you can understand these concepts, I refer to you as part of the normal population. I usually include my "not trying to sound special snowflake" text in there but I didnt this time.
Jose Clark
I would say we're the abnormal ones. It was a combination of isolation, college studies, TED talks, books, drugs, and observation of nature. What about you? Where do you stand in all of this?
Adrian Barnes
sauce please
Henry Allen
It's a fun thought, although I wonder why anyone would bother simulating an entire universe just for us. Seems to me we're at best the byproduct of another simulation.
I recently had a similar story idea, where humanity evolves and reaches the fringes of our universe, only to realize that we're a simulation. Basically the events leading up to the singularity from the viewpoint of the program. Meanwhile the civilization simulating us, is on a lower technological level than we are, but managed to start a simulation of a universe, ours. > inb4 wrong terminology
Jose Bennett
Sup Forums sure is tripping me out tonight
Chase James
>First of all, there's no correlation with seeing reality and evolution
Ok, just to go easy here. infrared light. We don't see it. We didn't have a need to. We know it's there. If you want more explanation just ask.
>Second, there's no "byproducts" of evolution. The phrase is completely meaningless
We can consider ourselves to be the byproduct in this specific time.
I'm not really understanding what you're trying to say here.
Jeremiah Myers
You trying tell me I have zero free will?
Asher Jones
Considering the scale of the universe, this is not here for us.
Carson Reyes
>Trap socks
Yea no that ruined it for me
Daniel Martinez
You're seeing the light, user!!
Dylan Rogers
Seems wasteful if it were, then again it might not be here for anyone.
Joseph Jackson
I can say the isolation stimulated mine. Dealing with horrible things at a young age sent me spiraling into a permanent existential crisis which eventually led to many of the ideas I hold today. Drugs led me into my FINAL observation upon the creation of existance. I do not know if we are in a simulation or not, as I cant be sure. But I do see it as a possibility, a neverending one in which a universe creates a simulation inside a simulation and on forever. But I generally dont stick to that idea. I can tell you all about the creation and how that went down, existance and the sort, but how WE got here and the rules that this universe abides by.. I cannot help with.
Daniel Perez
My OP was, but there is a VERY good chance that we don't.
Andrew Long
Very true. Any atheist would agree with you
Jonathan Sanchez
Not op, but yes. That is what im saying. Anything otherwise is an illusion. There is no "waste" in a meaningless universe. With no purpose, there can be no "waste" of anything. It simply is. It simply exists. This is me op. Still here chilling before you work.
Luis Collins
>Not him
are you blind
Chase Smith
Ridiculous I can't accept it explain it to me
Jose Green
Totally forgot about the beginning where you said we were in a simulation. Thats just crazy and not implied in any way by what follows
Gabriel Taylor
> waste That's what I'm saying, for the universe to be a simulation of us, there is too much stuff irrelevant to us. Why would someone simulate far more than they need, hence why I don't think were living in a simulation. The universe just happened/happens
Jayden Ramirez
I'm going back and forth and about to get going. Here's an email you can use to reach me. I'd like to talk more. Any of you fuckers wanna spam go ahead, it's a throw away.
I shall try. But if you dont understand, you dont understand. As ive mentioned earlier, with some people it doesnt "click". we live in a logical universe run by reactions. Something has to happen for something else to. for a house to exist a builder must build it. When water and sodium combine, a chemical reaction takes place. Laws are in place that cant be changed. Light hits the photoreceptors which gets eventually sent to the brain making the brain "see" something. Thats a reaction. All your "conciousness" is, is many MANY reactions going on at the same time. And as I said, this universe follows laws. Things will always react the same. YOU are nothing more than reactions.
Luke Thompson
Why did you add Buddhism into this. How fucking dumb are you kid?
Levi Gray
I remember being 14.
Bentley Thompson
It looks as if op is leaving the thread, so I shall take over. Anyone interested in learning? I have knoweledge to give for those who are ready.
Wyatt Campbell
Imagine the universe as a computer simulation itself. We are just the characters living within it and respond to the ways in which it was created.
Mason Powell
Do I or anyone have free will?
Bentley Cooper
This user here. I dont actually see our universe as a computer simulation, or I dont picture it in my head as one. Sure theres a chance that it is, but theres no reason to add it into the equation. I only work with things I can observe and that follow logic.
Jeremiah Brooks
As far as I can tell, no. Its an illusion. refer to my explanation up here. Feel free to ask if you need clarification on any parts.
YOU are a beautiful man. Ive never seen this. I love when Sup Forums thinks I have a gold pass and lets me off with no captcha.
Jackson Jackson
If there is truly no free will than why bother worrying about things? Why bother doing anything at all? Shouldn't everything just happen without me trying or not trying? I call bullshit. There is free will because I can choose A or B.
Aiden Stewart
Your choice of A or B has been decided already. What WILL happen is set in stone. Your "choice" is an illusion. See user, I dont worry about things. As much as this human form allows anyway. the best reason I can give you for why I do things is "because". Everything will keep happening without you trying. Go ahead and die, your atoms will form something new. Without you ever having a choice in it. The stars do not care if you burn. They just exist, burning a beautiful reaction through and through.
Parker Evans
Im sorry user. But I dont think its going to make sense to you. I wish you happiness.
Ryder Ross
Don't be sorry explain it. If no free will how can I choose? You trying to tell me the people who rape and kill people have no choice in the matter. Please explain.
Aiden Foster
Au contraire OP, it's time to take a much, much closer look at Buddhism again, "you" will be surprised to learn that the ancients have largely covered these bases already
Christian Hill
Do Buddhist believe in free will ?
Thomas Morgan
Op is dead and first post was b8 to get you inside. I have explained it user. You simply dont understand. The future is written in stone. What WILL happen in the future is 100% already going to happen. Lets say youre going to go through door b, and I tell you that you have no free will. So you take door a to smite me. In reality you "changing your mind" and going through door a was already set in stone. It was going to happen as soon as I said those words. Your "choice" was an illusion. It just doesnt.. click with some people user. I really am sorry.
Nolan Butler
I'm the boss
Andrew Harris
You can basically say there is no free will because the chemicals in our brain are made of molecules are made of atoms and so fourth, that after all obey the laws of physics. Also, our perception is bound to us as an individual. (Is my green the same green as yours?) Maybe all I perceive is a simulation? What about multiple universes?
Sorry for this clusterfuck post.
Luis Hughes
Indeed, classy. Sounds like that community could use some h:fy.
Noah Peterson
Are you asking about multiple universes user or?
Cooper Torres
>It does not favor reality, it favors survival. Evolution doesnt favor anything, it's not an intelligent operator, it's merely a process. And lets say we accept what you're trying to convey, how would not favoring reality improve survival? Wouldnt perceiving, knowing and understanding that a real tiger is really in front of you (i.e. reality) be the most favorable? It's a complex question. How the brain perceives 'reality' and how close it is to 'real reality' (if you even accept such questions) is still up for debate.
>consciousness >there is no real “you” Qualia my friend. Please do explain :)
>illusion of being a free willed individual Even if what you're saying is true. For all intents and purposes (since we dont have a God computer) we do not know what we will choose until we have chosen it. Therefore the problem of free will is still a problem. Determinism doesnt really provide any answers.
You need to read more philosophy OP.
Christopher Cook
I dont laugh at those who dont understand. I just wish that they did.
Christian Jenkins
Read the thread user. A mere couple of posts of reading could've saved you from typing that
Jacob Rogers
>You can't measure something without affecting it Everything is quantumdynamics now amiright? Or perhaps you mean everything is affected, and you can't measure the length of a table without making it feel insecure?
Ryan Nelson
I've read the thread and I'm the first person to mention qualia. Literally below 101 in here. Enjoy the thread though.
Jaxon Bailey

How can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real??????
Evan Allen
>What is the reason for things happening? Laws Nope. Thesr are scientific models used to describe what is happening, they are not "laws" nor are they reasons for things happening.
>Why do these laws exist? Cause physics. Also, this question is simply asking why things are. Depending on your perspective the question is not well posed, or you need to become a mystic since the question has no answer within the system itself.
Mason Garcia
How can mirror be real if our eyes aren't real????
