Techno is only good if you see it at a club in Europe.
There is no reason to listen to techno if you live in the United States, you'll never experience it as it is meant to be experienced.
For this reason, it is actually a pretty weak genre. True patrician music transcends the necessity for social context.

Everything is best enjoyed live, except maybe hip-hop, but techno is almost impossible to enjoy in a non-live setting.
I never understood the appeal of techno until I went to Berlin, because it straight up sucks to listen to through headphones or a home stereo.

Clubs in Europe don't make the music better, just more people are on drugs here so people think the music is good. Also the scene around Europe at the moment is as bad as the EDM bullshit in Ibiza and the likes, same few djs playing the same few venues, playing all the same styles and the crowds just using these techno nights as an excuse to do drugs to hide their insecurities. European Grime/hip-hop nights can be fun tho
99% of techno is awful.

dub techno is like shoegaze in that there are like 2-3 artists with a unique sound and all the other artists are just bland carbon copies of the most popular act in the genre
