I remember the show at the lincoln theatre like it was yesterday. It seriously changed my life, as cliche as that sounds.

This album taught me a very powerful lesson. It isn't fun to listen to. It's not enjoyable... or pleasurable in any way. At times it can be monotonous... it is jarring rhythmically. It's nonsensical; juxtapositions of lyric and layered guitar with unforgiving drums. It is dark and hopeless... mutilating and sacrificial.

But, as cringy as that sounds, there are brief moments, where the songs reach an epic climax and it just makes sense.

One of my favorite lyrics from their twelve minute song sums up the album: "And time goes on... it's all worthwhile."

It taught me that beauty is in the message, not the way in which it's delivered.

Secretly, this is my favorite album, though I don't like most hard music.
