It's all about your likes and current hobbies. When it comes to things that I liked I wouldn't even need to study to master it, like chemistry.
Studying something I dislike is near impossible, I study for like 15 mins and when I realize it I'm back to my obsessive hobbies.
If you count reading WoW stuff over and over as studying memorizing every single talent, spell description and their cooldowns was rather easy for me.
My grades always varied wildly, the average would be 8-13s barely studying, but in the disciplines I was into I could easily get 17-19s.
To be honest I didn't study once from 8th grade until the end of high school.
