>teh cure = dark
kek

The Cure isnt dark? Their early stuff is Seventeen seconds, well maybe not dark but thats where they were heading and it progressed to Faith, Pornography and even Japanese Whispers after that they adapted a pop sound after the Bob Smith solo album, The Top.They def were dark though.

the guy is wearing a clown makeup ffs
But seriously, they were occasionally Dark: too much happy singles or pop moments in their albums (I love this band but painting them as a pure goth/dark band is wrong).

one time the cure got grounded on his birthday

>Pornography
>Not dark

That album is just kinda meh

no, sorry. there's nothing like it. not even a genre, influences or side projects that you can look up. you're gonna have to keep listening to that album forever

17 Seconds, Faith and Pornography are completely dark except one or two upbeat post-punk songs. Disintegration has Lovesong and Lullaby but still is kind of dark overall, Bloodflowers also has a kind of depressing mood but I never liked it. Too repetitive and cheesy

Yeah of course they're not a pure goth band. But that is what makes them such a great band. Being able to do all this atmospheric depression stuff and at the same time have some of the catchiest pop songs ever. I like both sides of them
