Do you prefer Exai or elseq?
Autechre
I prefer aphex twin
I prefer music
Exai is amazing. Elseq is just jamming (still good though)
But user, autechre is music.
I prefer Confield
when will the "it's just jamming" meme end? listen more carefully
yup
id love to see them so bad. IMO theyre the best IDM of all time
Exai is a monster. Still listening today. Elseq has some good tracks but I'd skip a few every time.
That's literally what it is dude. Elseq = Edited Live Sequences
yikes
i cant fucking wait to see them next monday
elseq has better stuff than exai, but exai is more consistent
elseq 5 = Exai > the rest of elseq
Elseq is better but Exai is amazing in it's own rights.
damn, i guess i'm one of the few that prefers elseq. exai is still good but it's a bit too much of a "retrospective"
that's never been confirmed.
What's your favorite ae track that never gets mentioned in threads?
I'm seeing them live in half an hour. Has anyone seen them on this tour? What can i expect?
Expect loud bleeps bloops and buzzes.
>Goz Quarter
>Pen Expers
>Bike
>Krib
>The Plc
>Mag remix
most Autechre gets some mentions but these are some of my favourites
try to chat w them afterwards. they are v cool with fans.
Exai is among my favorite albums of all time. But elseq is amazing for its own reasons. Exai- 10/10 elseq- 9/10
Elseq is pretty inconsistent, but it has better individual tracks than Exai.
Also this
>tfw to intelliegent for autechre
how do I make music like them ?
I've never listened to Autechre. What album should I start with?
Exai
Go chronologically
dont start with exai that guy's just joking
listen to tri repetae and the garbage ep, then go through everything chronologically starting with incunabula, including all of their ep's
trust me it's well worth it
underrated

Start with Amber. DESU it's their most accessible album (probably because it's more ambient-IDM than drill and base/ glitch IDM)
not sure where you're getting that title meaning from? i mean, obviously they do jam, but there's no way they could create such detailed tracks just totally off the cuff. read the RA interview they did. saying it's "just jamming" seems like one of the weird, arbitrary reasons people always find to dismiss a particular ae work they usually just haven't absorbed yet.
Anvil Vapre and Tri Repetae
