I was wondering if someone could help me diagnose my civic, it recently started dying out on me after a few blocks. The car shakes more when I'm at a stop after having been driving for a bit. Then it sounds like the engine is struggling to run, then it slows and shut off. I can hear rattling coming from the engine but have no idea what it might be. Also, theres a leak that I believe is coming from the a bad o ring in the distributor if that helps?....any help would be greatly appreciated, I can send a link to a vid I took of the sound if need be

time to scrap it and get a new car

Clean the carb and fuel system bitch can't breathe

Sound is crazy, the shaking and dying out at a stop I've experienced before - it was due to my engine running off of like 1 cylinder because the other plugs were fouled from water coming from a leak in the head gasket.

I fixed my problem with a $40 bottle of Blue Devil Head Gasket sealant from the local parts store - no idea if your issue is the head gasket either, but it probably couldn't hurt to give it a shot. The sealant is easy to use: make sure there's some room in your radiator, pour it in, run the car with the heater on high for 50 minutes - shit you not, it's been almost a year and the problem is completely gone.

take it to a mechanic.

These.

Also you may have water in the tank. bad gas.

Blue devil is a good product. I used it on my crown vic interceptor to seal head gasket. Also run some sea foam through that bitch.

>I can hear rattling coming from the engine

when was the last time you had your valves checked/adjusted? have you checked the oil level?

> it recently started dying out on me after a few blocks.

probably a vacuum leak

nvm. just saw the video/ doesn't sound like water in tank problem.

valves could be burnt to fuck.

yeah those valves sound like shit. Checked your oil?

I think there are better forums for this bro. There's many fan boy Honda forums.

yeah, I just did an oil change.....i recently bought the car so im not sure when it was last checked

that's not going to work any more now. valves are already burnt, adjusting will only help a little while.

Sounds like the Johnson rod. Hopefully it's just the Johnson clips.

can they be replaced?im not much of a car person

They can but it's expensive. Don't know how much the valves themselves are. Also this will get worse very quickly and then you wont even be able to shift like you normally would without the engine dying. Protip: hold the gas a little all times even when braking, that way you can keep going a little longer with the piece of shit.

itll get worse even with new valves?

> describes a problem concerning a car in vague terms on a weaboo imageboard that now specializes in trap porn and getting excited over dubs
> doesn't take it to one of 10 expert mechanics near his home to diagnose in person
you're a special kind of stupid

no not with new valves, but if you keep driving like this. the valves aren't closing like they should now so they get hot and bend, dunno exactly. They're already fucked so you can't get them to close like they should by just adjusting them. It needs to be taken apart. It will get worse so if you wanna fix it don't keep driving it.

it really sounds like there's no fuckin oil in the engine. either that or a pushrod or cylinder is broken. scrap it bruh

well you can also slob on my cock you failed abortion ^-^

i havent been driving it for about 2 weeks, so ill see about the valves

/o/ is that way >

well you can also slob on my cock you failed abortion ^-^

just because i was thinking about it now, i think the fuel mix gets pushed out into the outlet of the engine at the compression stroke, then it ignites around the valve that's still open that's how it burns.

tried it, got nothing til thread was gone

but your car has direct injection i think by the vid, so don't know if that' the same, could be maybe there is just no compression stage and the rest is the same thing that happens, the sound you hear is fuel burnin gin the outlet of the engine

Sounds like rod knock or a bent valve. Take it to a mechanic because if it's on of those your engine is fucked

Do you have oil. If so, are you shoing any oil pressure on the instrument cluster

I have oil, I haven't checked the pressure yet
