so, today i decided to saw off an old 410 i had laying around. i plan to keep it bedside, loaded with 000 buckshot, while i sleep. I'm fairly certain i can fire it without incident but i would like a second or third opinion on this before i give it a test.
should i worry about barrel integrity?
it had a choke on it prior to the sawing off, can i fire 000 buckshot through it?

Too short, the barrel should protrude -at least- two inches from the body. The total barrel length no shorter than 18 inches and full length no shorter than 26inches.

you have a natural right to have a short barreled shotgun, which should be ensured under the 2nd amendment, but unfortunately laws have been passed which make sawed off shotguns illegal... even if a sawed off shotgun WERE legal, it wouldn't be my first choice or even in my top ten... for home self defense.. i would rather have a glock 19, an ar-15 / ak-47 .. or any other quality handgun or semi-auto rifle. shotguns are pushed as good for home defense, but they lack capacity, pump shotguns are slow rate of fire, they have a lot of recoil... there are many better options that are far more controllable and capable.. shotguns are more of a long term self reliance / prepping / survival type firearm imo.. they are great for hunting and reloading when resources are scarce.. etc

The atf does what the fuck it wants, when it wants. They dont bother with regulations and laws. Look up some of their past failures. Op would probably end up dead the moment they raided. Your friend is wrong. When you cahnge a Rifle to pistol it is considered the manufacture of a new weapon. It needs a tax stamp paid to the WTF to be completed and legal. Whether it is the $200 tax stamp or the $5 AOW tax stamp depends on the final configuration.
But he cannot just say, "its a pistol now" so the length/stock/etc doesn't matter.
