What's cringe about this? I know nothing about vinyl

Crosleys

Basically they are shit players that can fuck up your vinyls because they use ceramic needles

>needles
you mean cartridges?

no, the needle itself is ceramic

and you couldn't just change it?
i don't get it, if they're really that bad, why do they build them like this?

so that they could cut costs for having it not "require" a pre-amp (around 100 bucks)

more pressure just means more sound :^)

>vinyls
10/10

>why do they build them like this
Because retards will happily pay a cool few bucks for it since it looks hip and a e s t h e t i c . Do you think these retards care about fidelity or record longevity (since they never even play the records, they're purely a fashion accessory)

...

this has to be ironic

no way the needle can scratch the record so badly, unless its damaged or is shaped like a chisel

You'd be surprised. There's awful tonearm weight and the needle is practically dropped onto the record.

Not to mention there's no counter weight on the arm so it puts crazy pressure on the grooves

Because the people that buy them aren't serious vinyl listeners and plus the records that get played by these people are shitty records anyway that are better off rendered unlistenable

...

Also the speaker is actually a portable monitor. Not a good speaker system by any means and it definitely won't be sounding "amazing", just decent,

nightmare fuel

is this due to the lack of a counterweight? do all crosleys do this?

that is not a crosley, someone was prob just being a complete fuckass for the sake of that gif

this is pretty cool, desu.

hot damn that's edgy

Mediocre boring album
The shittiest player possible
On a shitty sound system

You could just flush your money down the toilet, if you don't use a good player with a good hi-fi there is no point in listening to vinyl

For real though:
>a majority of the record players currently in use have neither elliptical diamond styli or counterweights
>as a result, records everywhere are being subjected to massive groove wear which leads to massive inner-groove-distortion, rendering the record basically worthless
>this is incredibly difficult to spot cosmetically, and as such millions of second-hand records are in circulation which are being sold as EX or VG but are really F or P
>the second-hand market is completely unreliable as a result
>meanwhile new records are being pressed onto 10-minute sides to avoid IGD on this new wave of shitty players
All-in-ones have existed since the 50s but for the first time they've started to damage the market significantly.
