What do you Christians expect the most from Christmas?

I am Japanese so I don't know about it. so please tell me.
my guess lists are as follows:

meet up your family
Christmas gift
dating with your lover
Go to church
Christmas special dinner
making home made Christmas tree
send and take Christmas card
go to Christmas special event outside

All of these things are great, but the christmas spirit is what makes it the best period of the year.

i want it to be over already

im so lonely

Don't you guys have KFC for Christmas there?
Doesn't sound like a bad plan to me.

In all honesty it's supposed to be a time of family togetherness. A time at the end of the year that the family can come together than be there for each other.

THIS
You don't need to be a Christian to enjoy it tho, I'm an atheist and get to do all the fun stuff while skipping the boring church thing

I did help set the nativity scene tho

gifts, parties, fireworks, christmas shit even if there's no snow, and the whole spirit just like the mexican and the brazilian said

strong liquor

getting shitfaced with my parish priest at the midnight mass

In Mexico we also get the posada parties with the non meme real piƱatas, and then there's the Guadalupe-Reyes drinking marathon

I'm a Jew, and I get both Hanukkah and Christmas.
It's a secular holiday at this point.

And we have Christmas flowers

Happy Hanukkah friend
Christmas does draw strongly on European pagan traditions anyway, like the Christmas tree. The current representation of Santa Claus is actually a relatively recent American contribution

>dating with your lover
Not so much that one. That's more of a Japanese thing. In America Christmas doesn't really have any romantic connotations.

lovely comments thank you

We just get greedy for sex and food.
It is disgusting. I hate commercialism in my country and it is disgraceful other culture and Christians.
My country should ban all commercial for Christmas.

well there's always the thing about juggling families if you're with someone, or the drag of finding someone to kiss at new year's if you don't.

Hanukkah actually doesn't start for two more days, but thanks.

I expect it to be over quickly.
God I fucking hate Christmas.

Don't beat yourself up about it. We do the same kind of commercialism here.
It's really only endemic in the larger cities though. For those of us who maintain familial ties, or a close circle of friends. We generally end up with the people we care about over the holiday.

Just as a bit of a soft example. This year I'm being joined by my Uncle who lives about an hour away. He doesn't really have anybody in his life, and he used to go to our grandparent's Christmas before they decided to go south early every year. So my Dad Invited him to the one consisting of me, my dad, and my step family.

Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a nice holiday.

Jesus christ is a superstar superhero

he saved the world apparently

>meet up your family
>go to Christmas special event outside
>Nice family dinner
Why do I have to spend Christmas where they don't give a fuck about it?

I'm non-religious, I just exchange gifts, enjoy the music, have a family dinner, and make plenty of eggnog.
