based

Rob Swift is underrated as fuck. Check out Dday One- Heavy Migration. Solid instrumental hip hop
Holy fuck your taste is typecast. You'd like the Susanne Sundfor album I put on my list. I'm also shocked Carly Rae Jepsen's album isn't on there for you

Don't be sorry, be happy

So many I've heard of, so few I've actually listened to

might not be!

I really should listen to the other Twigs

Rob is great, with x-Ecutioners too, will check Dday One

My bad man

Props for History will absolve me, that's my #4 for 2012. Check out Techno Animal- Brotherhood of the Bomb for something further down the industrial hip hop rabbit hole, since you're a fan of Prurient and stuff.

I tried to make a chart and it just reminded me how shitty the past few years for music have been. I mean there are some good stuff, but not stuff I often find myself returning too. Can't even confidently pick out 3 for each year because I don't really like much of it. Sorry guys.

I made this thing for the previous thread and it only made me realize that I hardly listen to any "new" music. These are not so much my favorities from the last decade as the only albums from these years that I listened to more than once.

I sort of liked BB&tBH, Prurient and Thanksgiving, but not enough to be able to recommend anything similar, sorry :(

*sneezes in palm of hand*
*reaches out hand, still dripping with snot*
"hey, how you doin?"

Fuck, didn't put my 3rd for 2014

It's The Hotelier- Home Like Noplace Is There
There are a number that I'd strongly rec. Any that you'd be interested in getting a description of to see if you'd like it?
You're not digging hard enough man

lol

Sorry, But I really don't listen to a lot of new music. I like some stuff by established artists, but nothing new has really piqued my interest. You're probably right that I haven't dug hard enough, but I rarely find stuff I like. I could list a bunch of compilations, but they aren't entirely new stuff. At least I get to bump the thread because I usually try to contribute to these.

Its mostly down to liking hip hop sans-rapping so I tend not to listen to them

The Four Tet one is the only one I've heard, it's good though

hello fempopanon

Very predictable, but some nice choices (HOOM, XXX, AE, Hissing Fauna)

I like the TBLA, but goddamn do I hate Seven Idiots, I also have Inner Space in my backlog

very /dark/

Fun fact, I met Matana Roberts, and have a signed copy of Coin Coin Chapter Three

What would you recommend here if I already love Grouper, Soap&Skin and Chelsea Wolfe?

The other thing this thread made me realize is that apparently I can't even count to ten. I'm so ashamed and disappointed with myself.

Mushy - Faded Heart
Esben and the Witch - Violet Cries
Gazelle Twin - The Entire City
and Movietone - Day and Night for a change of tone
enjoy

ya I feel you. What are you normally into? I could rec you something
I have a couple instrumental hip hop albums on there. Check out Prefuse 73- One Word Extinguisher. Glitchy mostly instrumental hip hop with a lot of turntablism

Laurie Anderson back in the day was great but now she's gotten a bit contrived, which is the opposite of what I went to her for before. Props for Stetson and Matana tho. Check out Rudresh Mahanthappa - Bird Calls

wrong address, sorry, I think it's meant for

cool taste, will check out what I don't know

Thanks, will do the same. That Gazelle Twin album I mentioned is often compared to Fever Ray, so you might try it as well (if you don't know it already).

I really need to give this new Nick Cave a listen, although I'm so worried I'll be disappointed...

>if you don't know it already
I don't, thanks

Skeleton Tree is his best since The Boatman's Call imo.

bump

big matt elliott fan eh?

not sure if OP is patrician or a tryhard...

nothing very try-hard about any of them really

bump
