Kanye West, Bonnaroo 2014

I saw Jonny Craig at the House of Blues in Boston, A Day to Remember at Warped Tour 2012, Josh Turner at the Hampton Ballroom Casino, Ghost, Of Mice and Men and Avenged Sevenfold at Foxwoods in Connecticut.

All equally amazing concerts.

Nils Frahm, Le Trianon 2015

Mudhoney + Leatherface

Pere Ubu, Lee's Palace, Toronto 2016

Turnstile

I was at both of these and I thought the Yeezus tour was miles better. The set list, performance, and overall production just seemed so over the top and really well executed.

Pablo Tour just seemed like a glorified "greatest hits" list with some flashy stage and lights that really didn't have much substance (a lot like TLOP). His Roo set was cool, didn't really blow my mind though.

>really didn't have much substance (a lot like TLOP).
>(a lot like TLOP).
>implying

Arcade Fire, Reflektor tour, Philadelphia

People wore some really kooky outfits and I basically went dressed in a hoodie, a t-shirt and some jeans. I felt under-dressed. But otherwise, it was fantastic.

The Beatles 1967

>mfw I really wanted to see this but had no kanye fan friends willing to shill out $30

I just don't understand

I saw both tours, and while Yeezus was more of a spectacle, I think Pablo was the better show. He really went ham and it was evident. He moved all of MSG

a concert from a female finnish harpist unknown to the the mainstream and underground public. pretty patrician and amazing experience

Massive Attack

Gojira

Do they mainly play old stuff?

Autechre when they rolled through Chicago. Absolutely nuts.

yeah it was right after they released a box set of "the modern dance + dub housing" so they mostly played stuff from that era. their new stuff is great too, this version of the band really gets along quite well

I liked how the Yeezus show went through thematic acts. Each group of songs fit together conceptually.

Pablo had way too many of Kanye's feature verses and really just gave me a casual, scrapped together mixtape vibe. Seeing him on that suspended stage over the bouncing crowd looked like some crazy house party though - that was really cool.

Neutral Milk Hotel, January 2014

MBV 2013, Radiohead 2016, Slint 2014

Made in America LA 2014
Played Blood On The Leaves 4 times because everyone was getting so down during the drop.

Viet Cong 2015 @ Echoplex, LA
Thee Oh Sees 2014 @ Exit/In, Nashville
Panda Bear 2013 @ El Rey, LA
Death Grips 2015 @ Marathon, Nashville

Mogwai and Mt silver zion were sonically incredible and put high expectations in my head for a post rock show. Letlive was fun as shit both times i saw them, really feels like youre part of a riot at some point. Look mexico defied my expectations when i saw them acoustic too. Animals as leaders also stick out in my head just for playing so energetic and precise
Jonny's music has gone to shit but his vocal ability is still top notch

Car Seat Headrest in Detroit. I'll never forget how amazing Beach Life in Death sounded live.

Swans, this year.

Kanye West SP Tour
Cage the Elephant Tell Me I'm Pretty
Peter Gabriel New Blood

Where did you catch them? I found the Toronto show very underwhelming; I don't know if it was the venue but they were cut off at 11pm before they could properly finish The Glowing Man and it wasn't nearly as loud as I was hoping. I mean, Brand New and Arcade Fire were louder.

LCD Soundystem, july 2016

Death Grips, July 2015
Animal Collective, February 2016
Mike Doughty, February 2013

what's up fellow New England user

I've only seen four bands live, and GY!BE were the best, by far.

The others were Eagles of Death Metal, Crystal Castles and Eels. All were great, although Crystal Castles was just insane.

>A Day to Remember
My friends from high school dragged me to their show with state champs and parkway drive
>state champs 5/10
>parkway drive 0/10
never in a million years would I have expected A Day to Remember to put on one of the best performances that i've ever seen

saw Kendrick earlier this year at Benicassim fest, was pretty fucking excellent

Stone Roses in Manchester earlier this year was pretty special as well

Oneohtrix Point Never @ Heaven, London

Ty Segall on the Manipulator tour a couple years ago was also fucking wild

Can't forget Death Grips last month either

I've heard good things, but I hate that name so much I won't listen to them.

Alive 2007

Ok go at the knitting factory, Boise.

I'm listening to that right now. You are a lucky cunt.

I can only imagine how intense that was.

Lightning Bolt, in which I had to scale the walls and sit on a rafter to see things properly. I'd just left work too so I was there in shoes, trousers, shirt, and tie.

ive been saving money since then for the alive 2017 and aparently there wont be one, im not european btw.

New Order @ Palace Theatre 2016
Seriously

>Death Grips, July 2015
How do you deal with they playing over the actual MP3 of their music...
It just sound like a mess (on YouTube)

I have seen many acts live, from Swans to Neutral Milk Hotel, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, My Bloody Valentine, The Rolling Stones, Sufjan Stevens, Kanye West, and more

But the most fun, entertaining, and high-energy show I've ever been to had to be Green Day's American Idiot Tour in 2005.

Fuck off, Kanye West is a pile of shit

Not him, but I saw him in the Money Store days and Ride's intensity was too captivating to pay attention to anything else.

wow you sound unbearable

dumb esl scum like this should be purged

I'm really not, I know it's awful and narrow-minded of me, but I just hate that name so much.

Dan Deacon after I took some free acid.

what about it bothers you? its not even that pretentious compared to other shit out there

I really don't know. Tell me where I should start listening to them. I need to sort myself out.

Was the show before Garden of Delete dropped cause I saw him after that and was super dissapointed at how disjointed the set was and at that stupid live guitar.

of montreal, september 2016

worst goes to tyler the creator

GY!BE (pre don't bend ascend)
Radiohead TKOL tour

either oneohtrix point never after the release of r+7, was a pitch black room with seated while a projector played this recursive 3D render, was incredible

that or tim hecker around the time of virgins, meshing all these sounds with no input feedback into a mixer

it's one guy, daniel lopatin

i'd personally recommend r+7, but many here tend to recommend replica which is also great

I regret not seeing MBV in 2009.

Kanye, NIN, Atoms for Peace, Death Grips and Savages were nuts

Tim Hecker in a church @Roma: life-changing experience.

Stars of the Lid, EU tour 2016

1.Violent Femmes
2.Germs but with Shane West on mic
3.Mr.oizo ,Busy P ,Feadz So-me,Justice,breakbot with Irfane and Brodinski also saw some Crystal Castle's and Gesafelstien before justice came on.

Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan in Milwaukee, 2011.

Some dudes gave up their rail spots, dead center right before Dillinger.

Death grips performed the money store completely sometimes during 2014 when they recorded the live album in nevada

You lucky fuck. What I would give to see Stars of the Lid live. Did they play any new material or elude to a new album?

Bjork in London, September 2016

Pearl Jam, multiple times
Radiohead, 2006
Keith Caputo, 2008
Converge, multiple times
Foals, 2013
The Cure, 2016

The Allman Brothers Band- 2009 Beacon Theater NYC- 4th row

Eric Clapton came out and played the entire second set (both nights)

Simply mind blowing musicianship across the stage. Kanye? fuck that shit- this is actual music: youtube.com/watch?v=pb22MYqdugE

Honorable mention - Stevie Ray in Paris at a small club.

...and Van Halen- 1984 tour front row...they ruled the World at the time and were larger than life.

yes old fag.

car seat headrest a few months ago in chicago. so good. drunk drivers/killer whales was life-changing

yeah they played some new stuff. they didn't directly allude to a new album but they were touring with a new moog and some personnel from AWVFTS which kinda suggests that there's a new album coming. it was amazing, the room was full of really dense mist with a light show cutting through it. it went perfectly with the music, and it was the first show i ever went to where the entire crowd was silent. at least, it was for the first hour. as soon as adam wiltzie picked up a mic and said "thank you for coming", the entire place erupted into a five-minute nonstop ovation. it was fucking great, even got my ticket and a CD signed. would thoroughly rec/10

Tame Impala, Minneapolis 2015.

>Got a ticket and CD signed
You. Lucky. Fuck

Hyped to know there's new material likely coming soon. Be nuts if they dropped a new album this year and something finally topped Elseq for AOTY

Billy Idol - 2009 - Seattle

Kid Rock - 2010 - Puyallup

Swans - 2016 - Seattle

go to bed grandad

just because it's different doesn't make it bad

>just because it's different doesn't make it bad

so true...but being bad makes it bad. Kanye's "music" sucks very large donkey balls.

Hey i was at that panda concert ;-)

Darkside (Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington)
Brooklyn Masonic Temple 2014

You forgot about two things: his black bawls

jesus lizard 2009
pixies 2009
jon hopkins 2015
explosions in the sky 2011
and i watch you from afar like 5 times over the years, fantastic live band
radiohead 2012

I don't know, man. I found TLOP's focus on the fans pretty goat.

Never seen a musician literally turn the lights to his audience and obscure himself most of the time for you to focus on the effect of his art and celebrate you for being a listener.

People were in tears when he shone that scanning light on everyone in the middle of the show here in Austin.

Underrated in my non-important but genuine opinion.

Got to see darkside at Lollapalooza. Literally no crowd on the tucked away stage. A truly ethereal experience

Animal Collective at Terminal 5 in NY was by far the best show I've ever seen. Truly transcendent. Only show that has ever made me so emotional. Also the loudest show I've ever been to which I didn't expect (I got tennitis from it). From the lights to set design to their transitions between songs to even just the songs themselves it was perfect and completely wrapped me up in the moment. Second best is a tie between Sufjan Stevens during his Carrie and Lowell tour and Joanna Newsom during her Divers tour. Both in these massive theaters in Boston where everyone was silent and clapped politely after the songs. It wasn't wild or insane like Animal Collective but their music was incredible (Sufjan fleshed out the Carrie and Lowell songs into more extended electronic songs) and I had seats up front for both.

really hard to choose, but this

Childish Gambino - The Deep Web Tour.

That sounds dope...

Allman Brothers and Kanye are both in my top ten all time favourite artists... have an open mind

The Doors, 1967 in Seattle. Nothing else has come close.

>tfw moved to minneapolis this year
>tfw no good concerts

Either Reel Big Fish in 2007 or Neutral Meme Hotel in 2015

Queen @ Rock in Rio 2015.
