Roast me fuckers

flood and mount eerie are meme albums

You get a like from me, except for Eels
fuck Eels
like who even names their stupid fucking Eels??
How boring can you get? There's not a more shit fish than a fucking eel
But otherwise nice
>Codeine
>Dirty Three
>Windy and Cal
>labradford
I like but heavily dislike a lot of the rest
You'd probably enjoy Benoit Pioulard - Sonnet however, if you don't enjoy that the rest of his discography is A++ cannot recommend enough
I need to take some time out to listen to that Eluvium album, its the only one I haven't listened to
Pobablu already listened to them but Yaphett Kotto is a petty great band

>the ark work is less memer that flood and mount eerie
The Ark Work is the memest album of the 21st century.

wtf is happening now

Nah, Ark Work is just bad.

Sound Stream – "Live" Goes On

Foxing – The Albatross

Dawn – Nær Sólen Gar Niþer For Evogher

Lee Morgan – Search For The New Land

Lio – Suite Sixtine

Vis-A-Vis – Obi Agye Me Dofo

Cool to see some Mariam Wallentin love.

Annexus Quam – Osmose
Fire! – You Liked Me Five Minutes Ago
Catherine Ribeiro + Alpes – Paix

Both are practically masterpieces when compared to Magma, Shub, Boredoms, Neurosis and Naked City.
Meme music or "Zeul" is especially bad, music that is built on in-jokes between artists and fans (who began listening ironically but then it became unironic and then they realised they had to stamp it as "art" in order to justify having wasted so much of their time on a meme idea (see also video games)) with little to no composition skill or song writing capabilities.
It's sad that its still around

flood is basically just a loop pedal for an hour
Mount Eerie is far from a masterpiece because it includes shit like this
youtu.be/9jhZzsykTG4?t=29m26s
His other albums are better. I'd take No Flashlight any day over Mount Eerie

>flood is basically just a loop pedal for an hour
Yeah
>His other albums are better. I'd take No Flashlight any day over Mount Eerie
Same, No Flashlight or Wind's Poem are always my go to

Just saying comparatively, at least both those have a concept and focus rather than those other bands

please rec i have no music

>Magma, Shub, Boredoms, Neurosis and Naked City don't have a concept and focus
why do you think like that? I just can't understand.

But u have 9 music right there

"shwoop de woop biddle boop wisha kish"
That's the sound of a Magma album

all terrible, lurk more before making a chart. we cant help you if you show no signs of having musical inclinations outside of entry level stuff

nice meme

Yeah ok, that's one. What about the others?

that doesn't mean they don't have a concept focus.

brace little abacus - masked dancers...
destroyer - destroyers rubies

Masayoshi Takanaka - The Rainbow Goblins

Harmonia - Musik Von Harmonia

Curtis Mayfield - Curtis

Talk Talk - Laughing Stock

Earth - The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull

nice chart user

Shub is the same as Magma (obv)
Boredoms try hard but they don't have a particular direction so they are constantly aping other artists
Boredoms is like Stranger Things, it has a lot of parts that are influenced (or straight up stolen (not that I'm implying Eye ever stole anything)) from other movies but because its always aiming to be like everything it fails at being something.
Like Boredoms is fine but you can listen to Third Ear Band, Gong, Black Sabbath, Acid Mothers Temple and Taj Mahaal Travellers and you'll probably get a lot more out of those. I like Hanatarash but Boredoms is pretty dull.

I just don't like Neurosis, I don't like atmosludge, if their idea of going into a direction with a sound is just to be like the bands before it but more boring then that's fine I guess. I just like taking the time to say shit about them plus their music gives off that ughh dreary feel
Naked City is like Boredoms AND Neurosis and while I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of their albums the music falls short and gets boring really fast.

None of these bands are as bad as Magma (since they can't be) but they're either all trying too many things at once or setting themselves up to fail because of that they just can't hack it.

Put it this way, you also like maudlin of the Well, which have some great moments on their albums but every album has like three sections that are dull as hell. The best album they did was Part the Second where Toby stopped trying every thing at once and actually honed the album's sound to a point where they could have happily formed a new band around that sound (there was actually one band that did that and they were sadly awful).

I know basically nothing about music; I've never denied that
I do give recs sometimes though, it's just that usually I don't know what to suggest

...

Nice taste. I feel like you'd like King Crimson a lot although I'm sure you've listened to them before.
Reminds me I need to give Magma a try.

teke

Are there more bands like Go-Betweens or Felt on this chart? Can you rec me something similar?

ya i like Larks a lot.
>Peter Gabiel (Car)
u r my hero

>no taking Tiger Mountain
;_;

What is Tiger Mountain like? I enjoyed Warm Jets and Green World but this one looks different and I am afraid of glam rock ;_;

oh shit I thought you were someone else who used to have Tiger Mountain on his chart my bad lol. If you're afraid of glam rock and liked warm jets then you're gonna like Tiger Mountain, it's much stranger, hsd a more psychedelic sound with more focus on electronics. You'll like it

I am different guy, just asking :) I liked calmer tracks, especially On Some Faraway Beach and title track.

youtube.com/watch?v=1vhtpAIbIpQ

how do you guys makes these?

neverendingchartrendering.org/

Hey, guys, new poster here! I was thinking of getting a tripcode so that I can more readily engage with the board and allow others to know my opinions on music; is that a good idea or a bad one? That said, you all have pretty interesting taste! There is a lot of music in these threads that I've never listened to before. You're like giant archives of auditory prowess! Haha! I can't really recommend music to anybody, but I certainly hope to be able to do so someday, when I am as proficient at listening and criticizing music as the denizens of this board. If anybody DOES want recs, I'd be happy to try, though I am more interested in talking about music, not just listing off bands. No conversation really comes about from that, does it?

Anyway, I'm hoping that we can make this board fun and interesting in the near future!

because I like a lot of those albums and I dont like hip hop much, but donuts isnt even really a hip hop album too much, its just really really good music that i thought youd might appreciate:)

What happened with the other thread while I was asleep?

Welcome to /chart/, guys. I can see you're new here.

shut up dude

Pretty sure I've been posting in chart threads for over 4 years now. Granted, I stopped coming here for like a year and a half, but this is still the first time I've ever seen you post. I just want my old tripfriends back.

>My nigga Basho
>The Books
>Long Fin Killie
>Stephan Micus
>O' Rourke

Damn dude, awesome taste.

You might like Les Rallizes Dénudés.

Come drop by /daily/ some time, we'd love to have you around.

I dislike LRD. Too much feedback for me. I also don't listen to nearly enough music anymore to participate in /daily/, since that's normally about what you've listened to in the past day, yes? Been a while since I last checked out one of those threads.

gimme some recommendations

Well, it's mainly just memes and shitposting now, lol. But it's all gucci, dude. See you around.

i rec the rest of this chart

...

God damn, you all have such bad taste. I can't believe I share a board with you faggots.

is this bait

>ELP out of all prog
well fuck me

>sh-shut up
Cool. I've been posting in chart threads consistently for the last two years. I just gave myself this name last week. If you hadn't noticed by now, the only people who rec obscure unknown shit are the people who outright refuse to have anything renowned on their chart. I rec based on what I assume an user will enjoy but most likely hasn't heard after analyzing their chart and I typically get good results.
I hope you're new.
MF DOOM - MM FOOD
Have you tried drugs?
I hope.

No one cares retard

Just shut up dude
