ITT: Your favorite world of warcraaft memories
first time I've seen the lich king ... the dialogue with Tirion ... the first time we killed him.
never forget
Not a favorite memory, but this is one of the last bosses that my guild killed. Best guild I ever had, no one really played much after this.
The first time I went from Mulgore to The Barrens, opening up my map and realising just how huge this game is.
Another pic with a few of the other members.
the first moment after killing keal'thas and got chain quest ready to go to hyjal - best moment ever after that kill of arthas
The time i got rank12 on my warrior...then tbc came and fk this shit
lost a lot of my good moments in retail since I've gotten a couple new computers over the years
this is the most recent one on Nostalrius
LEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY
JEEEEEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIINSSSSSSS
Having my zulian tiger drop. I resub every so often just to ride it around and bathe in the nostalgia.
First time Onyxia went down on our server. I was in the guild that did it. Unfortunately, I was a noob--so I wasn't in the raid group. Still cool though.
when it was good
My first mount. Blue Skeletal. Took forever back then to get a mount. Level 40.
Raiding during Cataclysm, having my group Wilson a heroic raid and pulling the last 6% off Ultraxion myself. But DK's weren't overpowered.
...
40 man naxx. Fuck I miss vanilla WoW.
Got a blue drake out of a chest. Had a really low drop rate back then. Was pretty sweet.
Leveling in Thousand Needles during Vanilla. I stayed up until 5am and watched the sun rise at the shimmering flats.
Not sure why this memory sticks out so much, but every time I think of it I remember how comfy it was and it makes me wistful.
Really that whole game was so immersive back then. I have a lot of good memories of not even doing anything special, but having a lot of fun while I was doing it.
I remember the excitement wow used to bring me. I'd rush home from school to play. A bunch of people from my school all played on the same server and we would raid together during TBC.
Really miss that game.
...
RIP Nost
leet rate bro
I this game still worth playing? I remember how much I loved it when I was younger and have been thinking about getting back into it.
God the feels.
Every year I start up again, alone. All of my old guild is gone. I had some of the best raids with those guys. All of the memories and the all nighters, just gone. It's just not the same anymore.
nice cancercomp
Nope
The first time I ran BFD I got 2 blue daggers, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I was a DPS warrior and still rocked em even though one was caster dagger.
Also, the first epic I got was the Warden Staff and I rember ranking with it because it had defense on it lol.
First ulduar raid
got lots and lots of screenshots over the last 8 years, unsubbed 2 months ago sadly
not in the slightest
Over 9000 achievement, on WotLK when it was actually a challenge
before WoD killed the game even more
alt was in a guild where the gm didnt log on for awhile. Stole the guild from him then sold it a day or two later he sent me a message asking for it back but i told him i sold it to pay off loan sharks.
It's definitely not what it used to be but will be worth checking out the next xpac in August.
Why is it so shitty now?
Yea, old wow was great. I continue to play each expansion for a month or two before unsubscibing again. Just can't get into endgame anymore.
Between work and college I can't dedicate the time to make progress. Also none of the guilds I join seem to have that same level of camaraderie and passion as my old guilds.
:)
Any of you guys try out Kronos vanilla server?
swastika feasts never get old
I know you guys are gonna think this is bait, but whatever.
>played WoW when it first came out
>got one character to maybe level 14
>stopped playing completely out of boredom/whatever
>fast forward to MoP expansion
>crippling depression from life situation/girl bullshit
>install and start playing with a panda monk
>best friend has been a hunter since vanilla
>runs me through classic dungeons and tells me stories about his old guild
>spend next 2 years grinding MoP for mats and whatnot
>love the darkmoon faire and other seasonal quests
>make it to ilevel 640
>get booted from friend's guild for making inappropriate jokes (didn't realize the guild were all mature, nonfunny 40-somethings with kids)
>ain't even mad
>depression over, uninstall the game and unsubscribe
>have gf now, etc.
>Play all sorts of other video games that aren't as demanding
I know I didn't experience what you original vanilla wow players did, and I honestly couldn't tell you how the game is different now from what it used to be, but for a short amount of time I felt the magic. I got lost in the world and I'll always have vivid memories of completing legendary quests while at work, listening to podcasts. Feeling excited over new mounts. Helping lower level players grind dungeons because I was drunk and bored that night, etc. I was new to the game but I'll never forget my time there.
i got to lvl 30 then stopped after the server was down for like 3 weeks at launch

Asking was it your first love?
Nothing ever feels as powerful as first love used to feel. That's why I started using drugs.
god i hated that fucking fight we got stuck in heroic spine but i gave up
its not bad desu
i started playing after the movie came out because i got the feels.
just casually playing my arms warrior. same account since vanilla.
its not the same, but its still the only experience like it available.
It's working great now, very vast with no issues.
...
Kronos vanilla server dude look it up
the hype for vanilla died inside me after spending ages trying to log in. i moved back onto other things
...
I'd need to get a computer first. My old one got stuck at some 70 year old man's house that tried to rape me so I can't go back there...
that was my last swastika :(
Yes, still to this day no game has made me feel the way WoW did during Vanilla and TBC.
making a cuck out of my guild leader. first in game and then irl. that bitch would do anything for gold and raid time lol
i miss world pvp :(
man so many good memories...
i hope legion doesn't disappoint
is this on bronze dragonflight? please tell me it is
>world pvp
>posts gaydaria screencap
>mysides
Probably getting to tank alteric valley. I just felt so productive when tanking, and that was my favorite BG so it made it so special.
Recently I was playing dalaran wow, a free WotLK version, but it was just me and one other friend so we ended up getting bored pretty quick without our old crew.
...
random floating chair below silvermoon city
when walljumping worked again
Naxx25, my guild was entirely IRL friends, we never bothered looking up boss mechanics but still managed to kill every boss after realizing what was going on because everyone was really good
fuck if i know it was '09
actually I think it was in proudmoore or some shit
I can't even bring myself to start up all over again. I miss the magic and nostalgia when I was young and playing during BC. WotLK was great too, but I just can't get back into it like I used to, and the thought of having to go through all of the expansions to get up to know seems like a fucking bore.
noobs respecting my top frost ranks
ganking noobs in stv and starting real-world pvp wars.
ninjaing items
ninjaing guild banks
running my own guild
ninjaing my own guild bank
not my favorite wow memory, but have a look at my mog. unsubbed for two months. fuck wod.
Sup mad, gosh I loved the zandalari trinket in MoP, such a sick look
also, pwning nubz in arenas and battlegrounds.
Algalon realm 1st as raid leader, was unexpected, came buckets. Then realm 1st legendary staff, every fucker on the server watching me transformed into a dragon
This and the first time I went into Kara. It was my first raid and I was so fucking excited.
...
your favorite memory is a fake skit? sad
mine was getting Grand Marshal, followed by 2 weeks later Blizzard allowing everybody to buy my sick ass rank13 weapons for honor and me ragequitting because of it.
Season 1-4 Arena.
I was top 10 world SK gaming rankings and created Shadowplay composition.
>sec need to SS this beauty
>SS
...
finally seeing a headmasters charge drop in vanilla. Luckily i set it to master loot before the fight started .. opened a portal after teh fight was over everyone ported out.. i ninja looted the staff :-)
>Filling in for Gansita and getting both Claws from Hyjal
>Still didn't go fury
>feelsgoodman
Also all the time spent afk on top of Org bank is the reason I had over 200 days on my Warrior
Glitching ending up being my favorite activity in WoW in WotLK. Walljumping was so sweet...
Prolly running wailing caverns for the first time and realising how bad ads the dungeon s are. WC ended up staying one of my all time favorite dunegeons and I'm still waiting for them to revamp it and also getting my violet proto drake was pretty fucking awesome
It was naxx 25 tho so it wasnt really that hard was it
Waking up at 6AM and waiting outside Gamestop with my friends to buy the game as soon as they opened.
Being second rogue to 60 in Vanilla on my server (University got in the way).
Selling my account for a grand 2 months later and thinking it was a lot of money.
...
You are shit and deserve a ban
100vs100+ fights at tarren mill, @ lv 20-40 where one or two spells could be enough to kill you.
camps of healers, battle lines, constant aoe blizzards forming a bad lands between the two armies. bubbledins charging through the chaos to stun channelers, roaming packs of rogues ambushing healers, the ebb and flow of a moving battleline, with slow to retreat players getting caught up in the enemy grinder.
all across the globe like DAAAAAAMMNNN
Spending hours getting trolled in barrens just to then sit there trolling people for hours. Shot was cash, when I created an alt and ran through a few years later barrens chat was dead and I was so disappointed
Did you blackmail them? What the fuck is going on here?
:)
nuts
disgusting blood dk pvp. probably all bots though tbh.
Gladiator in S6, good times
my roommate and I ran both ran do I was blood and he was frost ack in the early days of wotlk, we did a lot of 2v2 , ended up gearing out in the second best PvP gear, I wish I kept up on it now I'm an exspansion behind
The argument "Wow used to be better" is not completely true, even if they release a legacy server (which they might becasue of nostalrius), the main reason why it used to be better is because you did everything together with your friends
When I never played it and saved myself thousands of dollars
One of my favorite memories is when we had two full raid groups and raided the 4 main alliance cities to earn the for the horde achievement. It was amazing watching so many people fight, it took us like 4 hours and in the end we won. Friends were all jealous lol
the game was originally designed to encourage that gameplay, no solo play and group finder
Na, wow used to he terrible, but thats why we all look back so fondly.
We were all in it together, nobody really knew what they were doing and it was a journey of discovery for all of us.
This is true, and for a lot of people it was when they were younger and more care-free. I know a lot of that is what affects how I perceive the game now. Although, I will say it doesn't help that the community is becoming gradually more toxic and overall less accepting of working together. It's being geared to be more single player.
